This property looked brand-new, very well maintained, the photos of the property are true, the listing description is very accurate. The house is just across from the lake and with ample parking.. It has everything you'll need for a relaxed vacation... the oven is modern and huge, you can't go wrong with your steak or brownies.. The kitchen has complete, good-quality utensils , a coffee maker, blender, a stand mixer, and more.. The beds are comfortable, plus there is a walk-in closet big enough for a month’s vacation.. the bathrooms are clean and so are the carpets.. Tanja - the property owner, is really accommodating and she's very organized even with the paperwork, we got the refund for the damage deposit within 24 hours of our departure!! I cannot think of one thing negative about our stay in Hope, BC and we will definitely recommend this property to our friends.
Owner response:Thanks so much Aurora. I am glad the house work so well for you, your family and friends.

This house instantly makes you feel like home! Having that house as a base for almost 6 weeks was a joy. It is modern yet cosy, clean and very wellmaintained. Nice little garden, and beautiful Lake Kawkawa a few meters from the doorstep. Nice neighbourhood. You will be comfortable here whether you like being on your own or prefer company and playmates for your children. The house is a walking distance from Hope, which is a nice little town with all you need, basicly. Whether you want to visit Vancouver, cross the US border, experience outdoor adventure it is all easily accessible from Hope, as the transcanada highway leads you right to and from Hope. The area is spectacularily beautiful dominated by majestic Fraser River running through the valley. It is really some place to go and see. So this house is ideally placed, and offering the excellent comfort, I am happy to give it my best recommendations. The owners are very nice and helpful in any concern or question. So do not hesitate to contact them on this house for your next vacation: you will not be disappointed!;)
Owner response:Thank you Marie and Peter, we are glad that the house worked so well for you and your family. You certainly saw a lot in six weeks.

This is a perfectly delightful, almost new house that is well cared for and well equipped. It accommodated 6 adults and 3 small children with ease. It is modern and clean with luxurious and spacious feel. We found the owners were very organized in all our dealings with them and provided clear directions to find the location and gain access to the property and prompt in their response to questions we had on our arrival. The property is located within easy walk of the beach at Kawkawa Lake as described. The lake has a beach and children's playground that is ideal for small children to play and paddle and for adults to swim as well. This area is safely roped off from boat traffic on the lake. Othello Tunnels is a must to visit. We think it is one of B.C.'s best kept secrets. The Tunnels themselves, the Coquihalla River, the Gorge the Trestle Bridges, are all amazing and to top it all off the salmon were leaping up the waterfalls in the river below us in their epic struggle upstream to spawn. Another place we found ideal for the kids, small and large alike, to swim and play was the confluence of the Coquihalla and the Fraser Rivers. We would definitely recommend this house to our friends, especially (but not exclusively) those with small children. The Hope Family Restaurant has been a long time favorite of ours as a stopping place on our trips to and from Kelowna. Also the Blue Moose coffee shop on Wallace St in the town centre serves wonderful espresso. There are also many hiking trails of all categories in the mountains and along the rivers around Hope.
Owner response:We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with your family at the house. Thanks for the great suggestions to other renters on where to go.

2 perfect weeks with friends. The house is exactly as advertised and is one of the best equiped homes we've rented. We - all adults - saw and did everything Hope had to offer. We even did an overnight trip to Kelowna (about 2 hours away.) We certainly would rent this home again! Thanks Tanja and Stuart.
Owner response:Thanks Richard and Arnold, we very much enjoyed having you as guests and welcome you back anytime. Thanks again for leaving the house in such great shape.

This house would have received a 5 star report had there been a booster chair for our young grandson and some beach toys for all 3 children. The house is well equipped with puzzles and other games. Things wthe children (ages 6, 5 and 2 1/2) enjoyed were the Othello tunnels, the local swimming pool (in the rec centre), the park in the centre of town, walking along Sucker Creek and Harrison Beach. They also enjoyed playing with the neighbouring children. If you plan to use the local beach, be aware there are many geese and their excrement present but the water is clear.
Owner response:We look forward to adding a booster seat and some beach toys for sandcastle projects for small kids for August 2011!

My family and I had a great time at the Hope Vacation home. The lake and small, sandy beach is across the street and down a small trail (1-2 minute walk). Only down side was that the beach area had quite a large amount of goose droppings, so if you can get beyond that the beach area is quite nice and the water was very refreshing. The boat launch and small dock is right there as well, so very convenient if you have a boat or seadoo. The house was very well kept top to bottom. The owners were very accommodating and helpful and there was plenty of room for all of us (3 children, 6 adults). I'm told that next summer the outdoor surround sound will be up and running, which will be an added feature. There was lots to do around the area, such as the Othello tunnels, Hells Gate Airtram, Hope Slide, Bowling Alley, etc. It would have been nice to see a quite time of 11PM instead of 10PM, as that was a little early for the adults in the party. The stay was well worth it and we would do it again in a heartbeat.

The house wass immaculate when we arrived, and there were added touches that we had not expected at a rental property - shampoo, soap etc. The kitchen also had basic essentials - tea coffee, spices, so as it was so well equipped, it was really easy to cook meals for the 7 adults who were staying here. The views from the house were beautiful, and it was a space that we enjoyed being in - all of us, aged 21 - 75!! The owners had asked if we would like Xmas decorations, and when we arrived, there was a beautiful Xmas tree for us to put our presents under. The house was just as we had expected from the descriptions on the website - only better. The complimentary WiFi was appreciated by us all, and everyone said it felt like "home." I would recommend this property to people of all ages, who are looking for a quiet, peaceful and comfortable holiday in the small but interesting environment of the Fraser Canyon town of Hope.
Owner response:Thank you Kathryn, you and your family were great guests. Tanja and Stuart

We enjoyed our stay at the Hope house. There was plenty of room to park our boat. The launch and beach area was literally across the street. The house was emaculate and the owners were easy to communicate with. On an overcast day we drove up to Hell's Gate and had a great afternoon exploring there. The Othello tunnels are also fun to visit and walk through. Great rental!

We (my wife and three childeren in the age of 4 till 11) have had an fantastic holiday in this house. It was great. Nice area, mountain view from your chair in the chamber!!. In the morning we walked to the lake (just two minutes) and swim there. The house is well furnished, large clean rooms. If necessary you can use the air conditioning.

My parents, my two young children and me needed a break from Vancouver and found the perfect spot in Hope! A wonderful spacious and welcoming house to stay in for a long weekend or ‘real’ holidays. I loved being surrounded by mountains, trees and the lake – my favorite view is still the outlook of the staircases’ window! I was also impressed by the kitchen equipment - whatever tool I would need for cooking was present and in perfect condition. Thanks, Tanja & Stuart, for the perfect break!

My family and I were on the last night of a 3 night road trip when we stopped in Hope. This home was the perfect antidote to an afternoon of cranky two year old twins in the back of the car. Spacious, extremely well equipped, comfortable, sparkling clean and in a stunning setting, this home allowed us to all relax, get some well needed rest, and enjoy a morning down at the lake. I only wish our stay had been longer!

My friends, parents, and I stayed at the house for only a few days and it was great. It is one of the best houses we encountered travelling across North America. The location is great too. Right by the lake and with a lot of great trails around. It is quiet and a great place to relax, but still there is a lot to do around the area as well. I can only recommend this place!
