I would recommend this house to anyone!! It is stunning!!! I stayed in this home with my husband, five year old daughter and nephew for a week. With the amount of room in the house we could have easily brought the whole family! This property is clean, comfortable and It has everything you could possibly ask for. The only thing you need to bring is your luggage and whatever you need for food (no spices needed the kitchen is nicely stocked) The bedrooms are all nice and spacious and the master bed room is gorgeous!!! You have a beautiful view of the water and a soothing sound of waves hitting the beach!! We were able to travel only ten miles to Shaboygan for all of our activities and shopping...such as The Childrens Museum, Art Museum and The Blue Harbor Breaker Bay Indoor Water Park. For a quick breakfast we went every morning to the small bakery for doughnuts in the town of Oostburg. Its very good! This was our first family vacation I wouldn't trade it to go anywhere else!!! Jason was always available to us if we needed him! Thank you Jason!!!!!

After staying in this amazing spot for a cozy winter getaway with friends, I wondered to myself why anyone bothers going all the way to Door County. when such spectacular natural beauty exists within a couple hours drive from Madison! The surroundings here are ideal--we enjoyed the quiet and calm beauty of Lake Michigan in the winter, and loved how the house was nestled back in the woods. It felt very private. And the house itself was amazing, with stunning views of the lake from the kitchen, sitting room, and master bedroom. The house has a light, airy feel--perfect for for the beach. Being there in winter, we enjoyed lounging around the gas fireplace and were pleased to have access to the gas grill outside for cooking. There were more than enough beds to sleep our 2 families, and enough space for everyone to spread out. And we appreciated the detailed information that the owner provided on how to operate the appliances, fireplace, etc. The owner was very pleasant to work with. All in all, it was a terrific getaway and we hope to come back soon!

This was a great vacation rental. Jason, the owner, was very accommodating to our large group and everything was exactly as advertised. I would definitely do this again especially in the summer to take advantage of the great beach location and outdoor patio. Highly recommended rental!

We had a wonerful time at Sand Castle Beach House. I loved cooking in the kitchen Thanksgiving Day. I had everything in the kitchen I needed to make our turkey and trimmings great. The view is amazing and we saw 2 deer outside the living room windows. There were so many stars at night- that was amazing! We also enjoyed the Kohler Spa and the American Club. My family had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

What a spectacular way to spend our 26th Anniversary at the Sand Castle Beach House! Our stay included a wind storm that provided us with roaring waves. The surf was amazing. We enjoyed walks on the beach, waking up to the lake's gorgeous views, the sunrise, a rainbow and the sunset reflected in the eastern sky. Our only regret was not having even more time here. -Brookfield, WI

We choose this property because of the amenities listed (especially the fire place). The host was not up-front with the gas fire place being off limits to guests or supposedly "out of order". We called the host immediately upon arrival to question why he didn't mention the fireplace did not work, he said it had just broken the day before and would not negotiate any type of discount or apology. However the fireplace breaking the day before as claimed by the host was really not believable given the sign posted instructing not to use it was aged, bent with old tape. Even if it did break the day before the host should have contacted us as this is major feature of the place. This was one of the reasons we picked the place in late October to sit around the fireplace. In addition not much was stocked in the house; every hand soap container (had 1 mm of soap in it), paper towel (2 sheets left etc). This wouldn't have been a big deal if it was not listed in the amenity list, as we could have brought such items. Kitchen amenities were very basic/standard. Also the gas grill policy was that you replace a full tank if it is empty, which should be listed on the house description also. It costs $30 to replace and a trip to town if you plan on grilling (it was empty also) and we had brought items to grill. We didn't want to leave once arriving so things not working or not stocked presented an issue. Communication with the host was difficult and frustrating as we called immediately upon arrival, but didn't get a response regarding the issues until we posted our review. On the other hand the house was clean, spacious and bedrooms were nicely maintained. There was a TV in most of the bedrooms which was a bonus. The beach front and views were really amazing and it was a quiet time of year around the beach area, we didn't hear a peep from the neighbors. The fire pit was great, I would suggest bringing in firewood if you aren't up for collecting on the beach. The master bedroom offered great views of Lake Michigan.

I'm also glad that you thought the beach & views were amazing- they are! After speaking to the other gals in your group, I did confirm that they all truly enjoyed the trip, and loved their stay at the house. The satisfaction of my guests is of paramount importance to me. and I make it a point to always be available and responsive. The gas fireplace works fine, and is available in season. We do have a great outdoor firepit, which I know these guests enjoyed. (The temp was in the 80's in the begining of October) The house is incredibly well stocked. The kitchen has everything you could need from Ziplock bags to a Dutch oven. It is all high-quality equipment, purchased new for the rental. I do apoogize if the hand soaps had gotten low- we will watch that. We provide both a gas grill and we also offer a charcoal grill as a back-up. I know as a fact that there was both grill gas & charcoal and starter fluid at the house. I called this guest right back when she called from the Beach House. I appreciate feedback and I will try to get any minor bumps resovled. Its your hard earned vacation and I want you to be happy! Everyone should remember, kindness is a two way street!

Well, our vacation to Wisconsin was a success. Everyone enjoyed the house and its fabulous surroundings. The house, the colorful leaves, the beach, the stars...it just couldn't have been more picturesque. We really lucked out on the most perfect October weather ever. We spent most of our time outdoors, and my son-in-law caught a huge salmon while wading in the shallow shoreline. It was so strange because he caught it with his bare hands!
