A great weekend getaway

We traveled here from Boulder, and it was an amazing change of pace for the weekend. The cabin is clean and well-maintained. It'd be great if the cabin had baggies and tin foil, but it didn't cause any real problems. Also, it'd be great if the CD player in the kitchen had an AUX cable so you could plug in an iPod through the headphone jack. I mean, you can only listen to Jack Johnson so many times. We didn't have enough cellphone coverage to check our email or use Facebook, but we had enough to call our family after we got engaged on the front porch. We'll definitely be coming back next summer.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+.

High Chateau is AWESOME! A mule deer was in the drive way to welcome us when when we arrived. We loved the clean coziness and style of the cabin. The photos totally reflect the cabin, even better in person. Sitting in the hot tub at night with the lights on the porch was so relaxing. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy all of the surrounding beauty. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. A perfect getaway! Can't say enough about it, you will just have to check it out yourself and see :-) Florissant National Monument is a must see. We ate dinner in Divide at McGinty's Wood Oven Pub. Very good! Cooking on the grill at the cabin was great also. A total joy at this cabin! Thank you for sharing High Chateau! We just LOVED this cabin! Secluded, quiet, so very well loved and taken care of. Everything that we needed was available. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom nice and large, with large, plus towels and an elegant vanity. The log walls inside and out really added to the atmosphere, as well as the hardwood floors throughout and large porches on the front and back. The furniture was high quality and charming. There are a few things we would have changed, although minor, I think it is best to mention them: 1) When we arrived there was dust/dirt under the sofa and coffee table in the sitting area, as well as under both beds, and a little on the clean dishes in the kitchen (other than that---everything very clean, thank you!) 2) The master bedroom door does not latch completely. 3) the showerhead waterflow was very slow. Both of our families give this place great reviews! Especially when you rent a place before seeing it, you never know what you might get. But this place was a definite winner! WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME and will definitely recommend this place to anyone who travels nearby! Thank you so much!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

The beauty of the cabin was rivaled only by the view outdoors. We could not have stumbled across a better find than this one. Everything from the furniture to the appliances and dishes were top quality and far more than we expected.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We were looking for the perfect private family getaway prior to my husbands deployment and we got more than we could have asked for. Decor was adorable, rooms were cozy, back deck was welcoming and the fire pit on the side was perfect. My two toddlers ages 2 and 3 loved climbing the rocks and running through the backyard. My husband loved the views and serenity, I loved the overall cabin charm and tasteful amenities. Even our lab loved the soft bed provided, He hardly moved a muscle once he settled in. Definitely planning on returning for a welcome home celebration (if its still available). Thanks for a lovely stay! Next time it will be for a lot longer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

This is the best cabin we have ever stayed in.....better than Vermont/Maine/New Hampshire/Arkansas/Missouri/Arizona/Utah & California! It's warm & inviting, a real home away from home. Cooking in the kitchen was a pleaseure- especially the range/oven. Thanks to the simple but elegant, cozy but high-end furniture and decor. I want to go home and start all over...make overtime!! Back porch w/rockers-perfect-grill-firepit.... chilled glasses!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

The cabin was a beautiful place for some quiet time before leaving Colorado for Texas. Seeing deer of the front porch in the morning was wonderful! Rocking on the front porche brought back wonderful memories from the past. Thank-you so much for inviting us into your home for a wonderful stay. We hope that we left no footprints behind. We will recommend this cabin to anyone who would love to explore this area!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
