Perfect base to visit Zion Nat'l Pk. ( the cabin is close to the eastern, quieter entrance to the park) as well as Bryce and the north rim of the Grand Canyon ( easy 2 hr. drive). The cabin was clean and very well stocked, a unique little get a way. Our thanks to the owner for sharing this little gem.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This cute little cabin is perfect for a family of four, or a romantic couple who want to explore the area without any of the burden of camping. It simply is the best way to enjoy a full day or week at Zion National Park or Bryce Canyon. By far the best value. We were able to save a little money by cooking our own meals and using the washer / dryer to keep things clean. I also like the fact the cabin is nice and private and mostly hidden by trees.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

I stayed at Lydia's Cabin in October 2011. I was told by the owner it was safe for a single woman. There were no window coverings over the windows in the doors, bathroom window and kitchen window. There is no land line for phone and it is impossible to get cell service. I was told to call 911 in an emergency-HA! After a long day of travel, I was greeted by cobwebs on the front door, in the hallways and in every corner as well on Mr. Deer. There were many bugs in the cobwebs also along with many spiders. There was also hair in the bathtub. I did not feel safe or comfortable here. The cabin is 200 feet off of US Highway 89 and you could hear the cars and trucks going by. Without window coverings on the doors, especially facing the road, I could not relax or sleep. I tried covering the windows with duct tape and towels, and saw remnants of tape there from a previous guest. According to the book in the cabin, the unit was just rented the week before and I thought it would have been cleaner. After three sleepless nights I moved to another place. I notified the owner and even sent pictures of the cobwebs and bugs. He stated he would send me a refund for the nights I did not stay there, but it has been four weeks since I heard from him. It would be a nice place if it was clean, had exterminator service, window coverings and a land phone line for emergencies. I feel this property is not yet ready for prime time renting on a national site like vrbo. I have rented on the vrbo site at least five times in the past and have never been disappointed.Owner response: We apologize for not being able to please every renter. The Cabin is located in a wooded area making it difficult to eliminate every small creature from entering the Cabin. For this upcoming rental season we have installed a land line for local and emergency use.

This cabin couldn't have been more convenient for visiting all three canyons! It was cozy and clean and the kitchen was well stocked right down to Saran wrap and sandwich bags which was very helpful since grocery stores are few and far between. The cabin stayed cool throughout the day and especially at night. We enjoyed sitting out in the shade under the trees at the nice patio chairs/table. We had phones with Verizon and ATT but could not get service on either one, so just know you'll have to drive a few miles for phone service. We would definitely come back if we were in the area!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Because of the proximity of this cabin to Zion, Bryce and the North Rim, it is an excellent place to stay if you wanted to hit all three parks in a few days. We were able to drive to Kanab for dinner and then to Bryce one day, while still being close enough to Zion. Quiet, peaceful, this cabin has a very "homey" feel. All the amenities needed--from the shower, bathroom, washer & dryer, coffee pot, microwave...and the kids had a blast hiking around and running around the property. Great place to stay at a great price! The owner is wonderful to work with, too. We will return in the near future!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We loved staying at the cabin in Lydia's Canyon. The owners are super nice people. We were able to visit Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks Nat'l Monument, and the Grand Canyon-North Rim. We also enjoyed exploring the local area and visiting the rock shops. It was so nice to have a quiet comfortable place to come "home" to after a day of sight-seeing. We thought that this would be a once in a lifetime trip, but we are already wanting to go back. Thanks for the wonderful memories!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

What an amazing stay we had!! Nathan Chamberlain had ensured that we got more than we expected. The house is very pretty and cozy. I have never seen a owner taking this much care for his renters. The icing on the cake being that the place is in midway to both Bryce and Zion National Park. Since we had to cover both the parks, it was very convinient for us.The location of the cabin is so picturesque that you would want to stay back at the cottage and relax. The cabin is surrounded by mountains and the Chamberlains own a small lake in front of the cottage too where if you want you can take a dip too. :-). We were a group of 4 and we felt that we should return to Utah only to stay in the Lydia's cabin. The place is brand new and i highly recommend this place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: The Cabin at Lydia’s Canyon was constructed by its owners as a haven to escape the in-laws. Nathan grew up in the Lydia’s canyon area farming and ranching with family while Ramona spent her early years in Florida and moved to Glendale for her teenage years. The Property was purchased from Nathan’s Grandmother and plans to build a retreat began. With the designing abilities of Ramona and the skills of Nathan the cabin began to take shape. The logs were milled locally and the labor was performed by Nathan and Ramona’s families. The rock for the wainscoting is native stone gathered from Dry Wash (one mile south), and installed with the help of Nathan’s father. The Cabin is accessible yet secluded and has been a favorite vacation spot for the Chamberlains for the past few years. The Chamberlain children enjoy playing in the pond and stream and watching the horses and cows graze across the canyon. Wildlife is harder to spot yet on occasion can be seen along with a few other wooded creatures that happen to find their way into the cabin.
