My sisters and I had always talked about visiting Door County so I found Orchard House on VRBO (we always use VRBO when we vacation to Colorado...it's great!) and we went in mid-May The house couldn't have been more perfect! With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, we all had our privacy. Furnishings were quaint and comfortable. Beds were great! We loved the lilacs in bloom and even ended up in a rousing game of badminton which is all set up in the back yard. There were beautiful flowering trees and although it was a little early for some of the flowers, I'm sure the side flower garden is breathtaking in the summer months. We loved Bailey's Harbor. It's beautiful! While it has fewer shops and restaurants than some of the other villages, we liked that it was a quieter setting. It's basically a 10 minute drive to most of the other little towns where we would shop and eat but we really loved "coming home" to the house and calm. We loved the Scottie parade (I understand it's an annual event in Bailey's Harbor) and we enjoyed a fish boil in Fish Creek. It was a fabulous trip and the Orchard House was a big part of that. The managers were terrific people. Thanks for a great time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
