Rocky Mountain Views from this great Estes Park 2 bedroom Condo! 10/26/2010

                  VRBO Bear stayed here:

The drive up to Estes Park is one of the best drives in Colorado…and this drive was no different. Walking up the steps to the condo, we could look over our shoulders and see the amazing mountain views and clear blue skies. The view from the deck is magnificent and a perfect place to spend the morning, drinking coffee! The 2 bedrooms were comfortable and were nicely decorated. The bathrooms were fully stocked with plenty of towels. Every amenity was covered, from matches to coffee to plenty of dishware. If I needed something, I could find it! There are menus and tourist recommendations so you can make a choice as to what you want to do. In case you want to check your email, the Wi-fi is really fast and works great! The condo is clean, quiet, comfortable and very accessible.

Making my way through town and up the road to the house, I knew that this condo was perfectly located. The historic Stanley Hotel is less than a 2-minute drive away. The condo is close to Safeway and the Estes Park visitor center. Rocky Mountain National Park is about a 5-minute drive to the entrance, where there are many hiking trails to choose from! The trail I hiked was only 20 minutes from the condo. Drink plenty of water, get rest and enjoy your time here. I will be back!

We went to Estes Park at the last minute, and the owners were quick to respond to our inquiry. The location was within a long-walk to town, but we always drove. It would be a decent uphill walk on the way back. The unit was well maintained, with lots of towels, and kitchen supplies. Plenty of space. The only minor issue is that the shower head is set at about the 5 ft level. I did enjoy the keypad entry, so I didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone if we arrived late. We look forward to staying there again.

We stayed here with some friends for a weekend and had a wonderful stay. The condo was well kept, clean, and comfortable. The owners were easy to communicate with beforehand. We enjoyed great views, a well-stocked unit, and several thoughtful touches from the owners (menus for restaurants in town, tour books, etc). The condo is located close to several great trails - we had a great hike to Gem Lake and then enjoyed take-out Indian food for dinner (also highly recommended). The living room was a little small for 4 adults, but we made it work. We hope to be back!

We seriously researched before we made our choice. Pictures often dont show the real story. Our highest priority was cleanliness and location. This condo provided both. Easy access to downtown and parks. A walk from the Twin Owls restaurant, made it easy to enjoy our stay. Great bed, bedding, fireplace, wine glasses, and comfortable. Also nice to have coupons and suggestions for places to see. When you are only there for a weekend you want to make the most of your time. Also enjoyed a beautiful view each morning from our deck. We especially appreciated the backpack provided for our hikes- a nice extra touch. Thank you for a nice stay.

We were very impressed with this condo and found it to be not only an awesome location with breath taking views right from the deck, but very comfortable and quiet inside. We enjoyed the fireplace, comfy furniture and excellent beds. Close to great hikes (loved Gem Lake hike), good restaurants nearby and historic Stanley Hotel. Look forward to coming back again. Owners made booking easy and provide a welcome packet with everything you need to have a great stay.

My wife and I took a quick 3 day trip out from Boston to celebrate our anniversary. Black Canyon Chalet was a perfect location to do so. The Condo was plenty spacious for the two of us and had a fantastic view out the living room picture window. The place was extremely clean and well-maintained. The owners were great to work with and allowed us a late checkout on Monday which was great. We were able to watch the sunrise on trail ridge road and get in a 4 mile hike around the Bear Lake area the day we were leaving. Emerald lake is a must in the Bear lake area. Gem lake was also a great hike right by the condo. The proximity to the park was nice. Just about a 5 minute drive and you're entering RMNP. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing place with great views in Estes Park. We will definitely be back at some point!!

We stayed at the Black Canyon Estes condo in October 2012. This was a perfect time to visit Estes. The Aspen still had lots of color and the elk viewing was exceptional. The view from the deck of the condo was of a meadow at the foot of the mountains. You could see herds of elk in the meadow and listen to the bull elk bugling. It was an amazing sight. The condo was really comfortable with lots of space and every thing we needed to feel at home. We stayed four days and had everything we needed to prepare meals. There was even coffee, olive oil and spices. It was an easy walk from the condo to The Stanley and to the Estes main street. The condo had lots of woodland themed pictures and decor. Very nicely done. Our favorite restaurant was the Sweet Basilico. It was a lovely Italian family restaurant. It was a really good experience. I would recommend everyone give this a try.

First, it's all about the view. Gorgeous! Sitting on the deck looking out over the valley toward Lumpy Ridge puts you immediately in the mood for a relaxing, wonderful Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park experience. Jolene and Jim have provided a beautiful, centrally located condo with all of the amenities you could ask for. The surrounding area is quiet and filled with wildlife. We were fortunate enough to view a large herd of elk close by and watched as several bull elk vied for the right to mate with the females. This condo is clean, well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We felt right at home. A bonus was the free WiFi. We took Jolene and Jim's advise and climbed to Gem Lake. It is a great hike with breathtaking views. Be prepared for some steep areas and be sure to take water. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to stay here again in the future.

Black Canyon Chalet is in a great location in Estes Park, a few minutes from the downtown area, but in a quiet mountain setting. The deck was great, with wonderful views of the Lumpy Ridge and the mountains. The kitchen was well fitted with dishes, cookware and utensils and the condo was very clean.

We spent 7 days in this unit in July, 2012. Pre check-in information was very accurate. We had no trouble finding and accessing the unit. Everything was just as advertised; very clean and quiet with wonderful views. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching lightning storms in the afternoons. This was a perfect base for our day-hiking exploration of Rocky Mountain National Park. The kitchen was very well-equipped. We cooked all but two nights. The Safeway is conveniently located down the hill. In all, we only ate 5 meals out during our stay. The laundry was convenient and we were able to pack light for our trip. We had one problem with the dish TV, but were able to contact the owners and resolve it quickly. This was a lovely home and we enjoyed it very much. You can't go wrong staying here!

The mountain view from every room was spectacular. The condo slept 3 adults and 2 children comfortably with the pull-out sofa bed in the living room. Our two grandchildren loved playing the games in the game room off the loft bedroom. The condo had all the conveniences of home away from home. The location is very convenient to downtown Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, the Stanley Hotel (which has a wonderful ghost tour), and lots of activities for children and adults; such as, horseback riding, children's amusement parks, the chair lift up the mountain, etc. We could not have found a better place to spend our vacation (and at such a reasonable price).
