  This was our first visit to Smith Mountain Lake and we could not have chosen a better home. The house was wonderful, the dock and firepit were awesome. The beds were very comfortable and we could not have asked for anything more. The kitchen was so big and bright and a joy to prepare meals in. The cozy sunroom was the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or read your favorite book. The entire property was clean and well-maintened. The owners were extremely helpful and provided us with all the information we needed to make our stay effortless. We would recommend this home to family and friends...we already have. Our dream would be to return to this wonderful "Crown Jewel" again. Also wanted to add how beautiful the entire area is. The people are very friendly and love to give directions to great places to eat and visit.

  We had a wonderful time celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with family and friends from young to old all of us enjoyed this weekend. The home is wonderfully decorated with a design for everyone and loved how the kitchen was just perfect but accomodated cooking for everyone. The outside includes views from the sunroom, the deck outside the master bedroom, beautiful new stone overlook with a "fire pit" to one of the most impressive deck and boat dock on Smith Mountain Lake. It truly enchanced each part of the day no matter where you were outside the views are outstanding. We plan to visit again and look forward to returning and it is truly the "Crown Jewell of the Lake". Thank you to the owners as everything was excellent to the beginning questions to the final plans were all approved. Our weekend was a perfect "10" rating from the small detail to the wonderful home you shared with my family!

  The views were magnificent and the owners great to work with! If they could guarantee the fish would bite, it would be perfect! We will definitely go back next year!

  Great location. Beautiful views of the lake and for watching the sunset. The property was well-maintained and fully equipped. The dock/deck was great. We enjoyed jumping off the deck and floating in the lake. Very relaxing. Would definitely recommend this place to others. The owners were great and we appreciate them sharing their vacation home with us.

  My family left Smith Mountain Lake with much sadness. We experienced an absolutely wonderful week here. The weather could not have been more perfect. The house is awesome; while the pictures are beautiful and very accurate, this house has a personality all it's own, that seems to embrace with it's charming atmosphere. The Crown Jewell of the Lake truly is a gem. The views are incredible! We enjoyed morning coffee from the sun room while beautiful sounds of nature serenaded us as we watched the morning lake activity. We saw lots of wildlife - a particular highlight was a days-old fawn that thought he was hidden behind a tree beside the walkway to the dock. He stood perfectly motionless for several minutes, while peaking around the tree at us. He was incredible. We ventured out one evening to show our teenage daughter and college age son nearby Bridgewater Plaza (a great place to hang out, by the way) so they could easily get out and find their way around if they decided to do so. However, they were so content at 'home' that they simply hung out with us all week. We had a blast kayaking, swimming, jumping off the party deck into the lake and simply floating about in the water. Not sure we've ever spent so much quality time together! We all loved it! We did venture out one evening to eat at Edo's, which serves awesome oriental cuisine. We all agree this is at the top of our favorite vacations. We are very grateful to the owners for sharing their home and giving us such a wonderful gift with their generosity. They could not be easier to work with and go to great effort to make the stay at their haven a truly convenient and pleasant experience. We'll always treasure our time here together. My husband's parents were with us - none of us have seen them thoroughly relax and enjoy themselves so much; this has truly been a quality week - an overall wonderful experience.

  Our first visit to SML was incomparable to any other trip. The house is superb: far exceeded expectations. Pictures cannot do this little piece of heaven justice. Definitely must see to fully appreciate. Amenities/neccessities provided and then some. Beautiful decor/beautiful home. We enjoyed spectacular views and sunsets, awoke to beautiful mornings, enjoyed morning coffee to the sights and sounds of nature beyond description. Owners are extremely pleasant to work with and have provided an excellent rental opportunity. We had ages 16 to 72 represented on our trip; all of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crown Jewel of the Lake.

  This house is amazing - beautifully decorated with first class appointments. Immaculate and spacious. The views from the "party deck" are breathtaking - a very peaceful and serene setting. Everything exceeded our expectations. This was our first visit to SML and this house left a wonderful impression. We had the unexpected pleasure of meeting the owners who were very gracious and offered suggestions for restaurants, shopping, etc. Overall, an awesome experience!

  What a beautiful lake home! The lake is outstanding, the sunsets breathtaking. We had a wonderful time with our adult children & grandchildren. Early morning coffee on the screened lanai is indescribable. Food and fun on the dock, swimming off dock, sunning, reading a good book, watching the sunset are just a few of things to do. It was a joy to prepare our meals in the kitchen and eat in the dinning room, thus we did not go out to eat frequently. We did the tour of the D-Day Memorial --awesome. Hope to vacation at the Crown Jewel in the Fall of 2010! Thanks for the wonderful "home at the lake"!
