Great location , View all day long is wonderful. Get up in the morning to the sea and the sun in the front windows , relax at night watching the sun set on the sound and the kids play in the pool. And dont worry about relaxing to long or having to drive to dinner after a few cocktails by the pool, just walk down the street to a local favorite Sam & Omies. Easy walk to the beach and close enough to go back to the house for a pole if the fish start jumping. We had a few quetions on the house and the owners returned our call quickly with our answers and some tips on what to do in the area. Thank you so much , We will be booking again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We are thoroughly pleased with this home, location and Owner! We stayed for 2 weeks which included the first week with some family for our beach wedding and the second week, just us for our honeymoon. The home was not too big and not too small, just right. At first we thought that the 3 levels would seclude people, but the space and layout worked out perfectly. The pool was a good size (watch out for the sharp drop off about 5 or 6 steps in!), plenty of chairs to lounge around on, nice porch swing on the back lower deck to enjoy beautiful Sound sunsets in the evenings. The Owner is right that you could potentially park your car and not move it again until you are ready to leave. The location is great! We happen to love Sam & Omie's, so knew that it would be a good spot for us to begin with. The Pier is a wonderful addition and we walked to it a few times during our stay. The Beach Access is so close that you dont feel it is a chore to walk there from the house. Especially if using the beach buggy that is provided. We only encountered one hiccup while there and that was when the dryer couldnt be turned on due to a stripped Start Knob. I emailed the Owner that evening and he had someone at the house the very next day to fix it. He was also very apologetic for the misshap. Never have we encounted Owners that are this quick to make sure that we were satisfied and comfortable. The Owners could be reached at any time, day or night for any reason, if needed. Luckily, we did not need to bother them because we had everything that we needed! Our favorite places to eat are at Sam & Omies and Blue Moon. We tried the Blue Moon on the suggestion of the Owners and thought it was some of the best food on the island that we have ever had. We will certainly go back there each year for a meal or two! We plan on booking this property each summer for our vacations for many years to come. Thank you to the Owners for allowing us to use your space. We enjoyed ourselves very much in your lovely home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.
Owner response: THANK YOU for leaving the house in such great shape! You are more than welcome stay anytime!!

My family and I loved this house. It was clean and very comfortable and just as the listing had described. The location was perfect and close to everything. Jeanette's Pier was great and so was Sam & Omie's restaurant. We really enjoyed the private pool and used it every day. It was really nice being able to bring our dog along too! I would definitely recommend this house to friends/family. The owner was also very helpful and had great recommendations.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

Wow after reading the last review I must have stayed in a different house. My family and I enjoyed every aspect of OBX Life 2. We loved the location and found the home to be inviting and a good value. I have stayed in many homes in the Outer Banks over the last 30 years and none of them provided the overall positive beach experience that this home did. My children loved the pier access and the private pool and my wife and I loved the proximity to the beach and local conveniences. We hope to stay here again in the near future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.

We drove 12 hours to linens stored in plastic bags .... I did not appreciate making beds after a long day of traveling!! Kitchen was very dirty and had to be sanitized (by me) before we could store our food in refrigerator and cabinets. Home had not been dusted or thoroughly swept in quite a while. There was evidence of thick dust on picture frames and spiders/bugs in numerous corners of every room. Outside furniture was very dirty and/or weather worn and again, some needed to be cleaned before using. Service call was required during our first day to fix air conditioning unit. HVAC was called to fix and was accomplished. Maintenance worker was also there for three days at the request of the owner, cutting wood and building a run for "his dog" (he was actually very nice though). Cable problems towards the later end of the week, which were resolved in the evening. Overall, we would never stay in this residence again nor would we recommend. Very overpriced, poor value - we actually checked out early. First disappointing experience we've had in OBX.Owner response: We had to laugh when we got this review. We are not sure if the hot weather had caused this rant. I talked with the person twice during there stay. One call was for the AC repair which was fixed within hours of the call. The second was later in the week about the cable being out after a thunderstorm. I contacted cable company right away and found out it was a regional outage. Within 2 hours the cable was back on. She never mention anything to me about what was in her review. If she did.... we would of done EVERYTHING possible to make there stay more enjoyable. We take pride in our rental houses and have never received a complaint like this in 5 years of renting! If anyone reading her review chooses not to stay here because of this rant. Please contact me and I will give you a dozen names, numbers of satisfied and repeat guest that had the opposite experience. We know we can not satisfy every guest but, if we were only given the chance during there stay to address there complaints. We would of done what ever possible so the family could of enjoy there vacation!!

We were glad this home was pet friendly so we could take our family dog. We liked the swimming pool and the king size bed in the master bedroom. We liked the short walk to the beach. As you consider this or any rental property, I recommend that you ask about noise level and construction projects (planned or in the process) that are next to the property or in the area. These kinds of surprises are not pleasant.Owner response: I am glad you enjoyed the house! We always try to keep the house in great shape for our guest. The construction project is the new Whalebone Park and the project is at its final stages. It is a small park with a walking trail, volley ball court and horse shoe pit. We are excited that our house has sound views, ocean views and now PARK views!

I didn't get the chance to write in the guest book but wanted to thank you so much for opening your home to us! We had a wonderful time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The location was amazing - the pier was a huge hit with our little one. The surf kayaking was fun to watch too! It was the first time we had ever been to Sam n Omie's and we ate there for breakfast almost every day. They were so understanding of the fact that we had a toddler! That house could not be in a better spot. So close to so much!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We really enjoyed the home and it's ideal location. We thought Jeanette's Pier was fabulous and loved walking to it everyday. The beach is so close, but it was really hot the week we visited, so having the pool to cool off in was wonderful. We also enjoyed nearby Owen's restaurant and the Aquarium on Roanoke island. This was our first visit to OBX. The home worked perfectly for our party of six and Mike was great at helping us plan our visit. Thanks for sharing your home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway.

I stayed here for my 31st birthday weekend in March 2011 it was terrific. The house was clean, had a great rate, plenty of parking, and the location is perfect. We spent time at The Lost Colony and Jockeys Ridge. For the 30s crowd I recommend Mulligan's, the food at Kelly's and Owen's are great as well. Sam and Omie's is a great pub and hangout as well. Thanks and we will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Mike and Renee Olson. They met in OBX during our college summer breaks 1987 - 1993. Mike was a Ocean Rescue Lifeguard for Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head Ocean Rescue. Renee worked at Capt'n Franks and Birthday Suits. They have two children Meganne and Max. They enjoy the Outer Banks and know it very well. They thought this house would be perfect because it's not too big and is the perfect size for one or two families. The price is very reasonable for all you get.
Why the Owner Chose Nags Head:
When we decided to purchase our second rental home the perfect location was a priority to us. Having everything you need close by and not have to fight traffic is important so you can settle in fast and start enjoying your vacation. Restaurants, beach, shopping, fishing, is all in walking distant from the house. Also, having the longest and first cement pier with a aquarium across the street is EXCITING!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The sunsets over looking the sound are incredible you must have your camera ready! Walking out 1000' on the new Jennette's pier!
