We spent our Thanksgiving holiday in Glen Ellen- my first trip to the CA wine country. My family of three (my husband, 16 year-old daughter and me) shared this lovely home with my sister. We had the rest of our family renting a larger home on Robertson Rd which was great as we could walk between them. This home is all it says it is and more. Yannick was a lovely and welcoming hostess. The house is bigger than we thought it would be as it has two living areas, one that my daughter settled into as her room. She took the front room which has a day bed that she found quite cozy and was separate enough from the kitchen and other living area that she wasn't bothered by earlier risers. The second living area is full of windows and light and opens to the beautiful patio and yard. This is a charming and cozy place painted in beautiful warm colors and full of interesting treasures with everything you need. We hosted breakfast one sunny morning on the patio after a family yoga session in the living room. Our place was the respite from the bigger, busier home where the rest of the family was staying. We enjoyed watching the birds in the yard, the 2 year-old (and my teenager) both jumped in the pool even in November! and the place just couldn't have been better. The owners are close by if you need them and they have a shelf full of tourist and area information to help you find your way around. The house is right in town, a quick walk to the wonderful market and anywhere you might want to go in town. Jack London State Park is right up the road and a great place for walks or bike rides, Glen Ellen has several wineries in and around town and several wonderful restaurants. It is also a short drive to Sonoma in one direction or Santa Rosa in another. I can't say enough good things about this charming home and its location and would recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.
