Enjoy the soft, white, sugary sand of the Emerald Coast as it sqeaks between your toes. Nestled in a 6 story, immaculate building, this 3rd floor, 2 BR Gulf-front condo speaks relaxation. Unlike crowded beaches you may have visited, Okaloosa Island is off the beaten path. If you don't like waiting for elevators or looking for open beach or pool space, Summerlin 302 is for you.
Awaken in the comfortable Master Suite with the sound of the gulf below you. Walk out on the balcony and sip coffee as you listen to the seagulls above you as you scan for dolphins jumping a few hundred yards out in the blue-green waters that are equally as beautiful as the Caribbean. Fix breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen while those in the private guest room are still asleep. When everyone is up, plan your day on the pristine beaches, or around the pool (heated in the cool season)just below, or visit close-by Gulf-Arium or museums or shops. You might prefer a day of parasailing, deep sea fishing or boating in the gulf or sound. Maybe a golf outing on several of the nearby courses is what you had in mind.
After a full afternoon, regroup and relax on the full length balcony that spans from the Master Bedroom across to the Living Room, and watch incredibly beautiful sunsets as the sun submerges into the gulf signaling the end of day, only to be repeated each evening. In the meantime, plan 'what's for dinner.' This could be taking advantage of the grills provided, or cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and dining at the table for 6, or selecting from numerous waterfront and local restaurants on the island or in nearby Destin, about 5 miles to the east. The local, fresh-caught seafood is something you don't want to miss while you're here. Steamed shrimp, fresh grilled grouper, and many other delights.
As you lounge in the spacious Living Room after dinner, with adequate seating for the entire family, plan your next day's activities such as a brisk walk down to the pier to watch fish being caught, or going the opposite direction to the non-developed area of the island. Feeling more energetic? Jog the trip, or use the jogging lane that runs the length of the island. Or, simply relax with a good book in beach lounges with umbrellas available each day of the main seasons. Either way, the beach is just a few steps from the condo via the dune walk-over.
Without the congestion of many other beaches you've experienced, you'll find Okaloosa Island a nice, relaxing and refreshing change...just the vacation you needed and wanted. Close to the airport...miles from the crowd.

We have stayed in this condo the past two summers and have 2013 reserved. Judy takes care of us and we couldn't ask for a better condo and beach front. Literally seconds from the chair on the beach if you walk slow....grandkids can beat a minute every time! The area is not congested and the busiest day on the beach has plenty of beach front for kids to build castles and to sit with your toes in the beautiful clear water.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This condo is very well kept, the furnishings are wonderful, and the ocean view is the best ever. Just the right size for four people. The pool is well maintained and was the perfect ending to a day on the beach. We were there in October and the balcony was a great place for a glass of wine! There are many great restaurants nearby. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone who wants a relaxing time at the beach.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The unit lives exactly as advertised - both comfortable and convenient. I especially liked the uncrowded beach yet the "hot spots" were close by and easily accessible. The beach, the sunrises and the sunsets were unbelievably beautiful. It made for a restful vacation that will not soon be forgotten. I recommend this unit highly.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1999
About the owner: We used to live in Central Florida and vacation on the Atlantic Coast until we ventured to the Gulf. The waters were so beautiful compared to the east coast. When we visited friends in nearby Destin, we just fell in love with the Emerald Coast and decided to purchase our vacation home. We love the relaxation of sitting by the pool or on the beach, or taking day trips to various nearby locations.
Why the Owner Chose Summerlin:
After looking at highrise condos in Destin we decided that bumper to bumper traffic and crowded elevators did not make for a relaxing vacation. When someone suggested Okaloosa Island, which has a height restriction of 6 floors we were intrigued. We fell in love with it. Quiet, roomy, and lovely beaches without the congestion. There are great restaurants nearby (we have our favorites, of course!) and we're so close to Destin we can zip over there if we want to. Shopping for groceries is closeby and beach stores abound.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The sunsets on the island can be spectular particularly during the cooler seasons. We must have 300 pictures of sunsets, sure that each one was prettier than the last. Guests are always on the walkover with cameras in hand, just waiting that special moment when the sun dips into the Gulf. Additionally, the Gulf has such clear water and most the time it's not huge surf that knocks you over as you often find on the east coast. It's just so relaxing here.
