We spent a week in the casita just as ski sason was winding down and spring was beginning. It was absolutely perfect. Kitty is a womderful host who is there when you need her and provides very useful local information. We especially enjoyed the beauty and quiet of the casita itself, nestled in the mountains as well as the proximity to Arroyo Seco. The walk on the backroads to town was wonderful. The casita and its surrounds are even more beautiful than indicated in the photos. The proximity to hiking, downhill, and cross country skiing as well as to the wonders of Taos are additional assets. We cannot wait to return.

Kitty's Casita was a wonderful little weekend getaway for us. Kitty was very accomadating and friendly. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood with our labradoodle and she loved the fenced in yard, especially the bird feeder corner. The hot tub was in a perfect location and relaxing. We enjoyed some wonderful meals indoors and out. Even though it is still winter the south facing deck was warm and the views fantastic. The interior is nice and comfortable with just about everything you need to have a nice time. The upstaris bedroom was cool to view the moon thru the window while lying in bed, then watch the sun come up over the mountain... perfect. The only thing I would change is the gas grill. It was outdated and very unusual. We hope to come back for a longer stay. We did see the waterfall too! Thank you Kitty and Co.

Owner response: Thanks for your thoughtful review, Cindi and Andrew. We enjoyed having you and hope you will remember us for your next visit to Taos. As I told you when I mailed back your lost items ( including Maya's favorite toy! ) we are looking at new gas grills as well. Take care!

When we heard there was a great snow fall my husband knew we had to get to Taos, his favorite ski mountain. I remembered seeing Kitty's Casita on VRBO and suggested we see if it was available for us and our dog Joe. It was! Kitty was a doll to work with. We booked her adorable place for a 4 day family get away. When we arrived we were met by Elizabeth at near by Arroyo Seco. She guided us to Kitty's. Elizabeth was extremely friendly and helpful in getting us all set up. The Casita is even cuter than the pictures. Our dog, Joe was in heaven in the fully enclosed snow covered yard. We loved being so close to the ski resort and small town of Arroyo Seco yet still out in the peace, privacy and quiet of this special property. The casita has everything you could want for a cozy retreat. The design elements, light streaming through the windows, and spectacular views make this one of our favorite Taos discoveries. We ventured over to the Millicent Rogers Museum one afternoon. It is a mere 10 min. drive from the casita and well worth the visit. We enjoyed it and would recommend it for others to experience. After a full day in the powder on the slopes my husband really enjoyed the hot tub. This is a jewel of a place. We highly recommend it and hope to be back. Thanks Kitty for sharing your special little home with all of us travelers. The only ingredient one needs to be aware of are the steps leading to the loft bedroom. They are safe but very steep so hang on to the sturdy railings and enjoy the comfy bed and looking at the stars. There is an extremely comfortable bed in the living area too. It is discretely hidden in the cozy big couch. Kitty's is a great example of why we love Taos; friendly, beautiful and unique!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the casita for a couple of days towards the end of September and could not have had a better time. The description is very accurate and Arroyo Seco is the most darling town ever. Kitty is so welcoming and accommodating - making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The views of the mountains, starry nights, and overall atmosphere made it so hard to leave!! Photos do not do justice. I would love to come back in the future and recommend staying here to anyone looking for a getaway. -T & J

Wonderful views, close to Taos and area attractions. Stairs to the beautiful loft bedroom were a little steep for someone with arthritis...especially with the bathroom downstairs, but worth the effort for the great views from all bedroom windows. We would return and would recommend this Casita to friends!

Charming private place to stay near Taos and very close to Arroyo Seco. Beautiful views and very quiet and Kitty and Joe are great people! My husband and I enjoyed our time in the Taos area and the casita was a perfect home base during our stay. The sleeping area is in a loft area with steep stairs in case you prefer one level living.

My husband, our senior dog, and I had a wonderful four-day stay at Kittly's Casita. He had two great days of skiing at Taos Ski Area while Kitty was kind enough to show me and my doggie the neighborhood walk. The Casita is bright and airy, comfortable and cozy - a wonderful place to come "home" to after the day's adventures. The fenced yard is a real bonus for anyone traveling with a dog, and our old girl quickly settled in. The neighborhood is quintessential New Mexico pastoral - vast views, mountain vistas, peaceful, and starlit. It was so relaxing, it was hard to get motivated to leave. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

What a wonderful place to stay when in Taos! This classic New Mexican cottage is located halfway between Taos and the ski valley. The hospitality of the owners and the quiet of the area made it a perfect place for us to spend a weekend for two.

We were so happy to find Kitty's casita in Taos. It was charming, peaceful and extremely comfortable. The setting was gorgeous and we loved the bedroom loft with a view of the surrounding mountains and fantastic skies. The short walk/ride into the charming town of Arroyo Seco was fun as were the hiking trails in the area and the highlights of course were the hottub with views of stars in the evening and our son loved playing with Kitty's two sweet labradors. We would stay again in a heartbeat and are already planning our next trip!

This casita was a huge part of what made my time in Taos so special this summer...I stayed here with my little dog, Derby....we were both very comfortable. The windows, the views, the light, the breezes, the stars, the surroundings, the community.....waking up to a faint rooster's crow and horses whinny-ing, and the most beautiful light...plus, the comfortable home itself...it really could not have been better. I enjoyed the location very much...very rural and peaceful, but still easy to sight-see from here. I did lots of sight-seeing, went to the pueblo and the town/plaza, the gorge, the ski valley...and still had plenty of time to relax at the casita. I did some writing, played my guitar, cooked, sat in the hot tub and looked at the stars, walked around the area and took pictures...it was lovely. Felt like a home away from home.

We had a wonderful weekend at this little house. The views and yard were beautiful, we used the deck many times, and enjoyed the hot tub as well. The interior was warm, inviting and colorful with all the amenities we needed. The bed was comfortable and there were ample linens, including bathrobes. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I always look forward to coming back here, as the casita is located just a bit outside Taos, in Arroyo Seco (Abe's Cantina and cocina for great tamales) so it's a quiet, relaxing place to stay. We hesitated to believe such a place could be available for such a reasonable price, but we are convinced! Immaculately clean, Kitty is always available for any questions/concerns, and the place is even prettier than the pictures. Everything in the house is of very high quality, the bed in the loft is very comfortable and has an amazing view. And we do enjoy hanging in the hot tub, listening to the coyotes, and watching for shooting stars. There is always plenty to do in the Taos area. There are at least 5 museums (Fetchin House is our favorite), more good dining options than you can believe, and plenty of outdoor adventures (we like to hike the Wild and Scenic Rivers area northwest of town).

We have had an amazing week and a half and can't wait to come back. Kitty is a fabulous hostess and her abode could not be more excellent. We have enjoyed hiking, fly fishing, walks, the peaks, the cool night air, the jacuzzi, the birds and especially the sunsets and bowl of stars overhead. Tah you so much for this refreshing getaway/ vacation!

We looked to find this exact place for a two week summer vacation in Arroyo Seco... we wanted something small, affordable, quaint, secluded and with a great view up to the mountains and out west beyond the Rio Grande. This is the place... a small, fenced yard with fabulous flowers that surround you, a big back deck with a comfortable hot tub, a great kitchen, and an airy loft master bedroom with fabulous views. After fly fishing and hiking, the hot tub is great. The sunrises and sunsets are immense and star gazing at night from the hot tub is very special. Kitty and Joe are fabulous hosts and their two dogs (Guido and Luiggi) are the very best. You can hear coyotes at night and hummingbirds are frequent visitors to the fabulous garden. The clouds are incredible nd you can sit and gaze up over Taos Mountain or look 100 miles west well beyond the Rio Grande valley. We can not wait to get back there... so utterly relaxing. T&P

August 24, 2009 Just so you know.... we always bring the rain! That aside, Kitty's Casita has been a great place to stay. Can't believe how well its stocked with all you would ever want or need. Very comfortable!! Saw a beautiful rainbow this morning from our bedroom window as we woke. Drove out the Wild Rivers... a must see for all visitors ~ terrific hiking! We're here for 2 nights; highly recommend Sabroso dor dinner, Pizanos for a casual meal ( we actually took it "to go" bringing it back here to enjoy the sunset. Great visit, GREAT accomodations!
