My boyfriend and I rented this place from 4/8 to 4/11. We are really glad we rented this place rather than booking a hotel. Ease of renting - 5/5 The owners were extremely nice and responsive. Transportation/Parking - 5/5 We had a car and were able to rent the parking garage in this building from the owners for $100. So, worth the money! Definitely recommend it if you are staying here. Parking is really hard to find and there are limits to how long you can park your car in one location. We took the bart/cables cars most of the time we were here. The bart station is a few minutes walk. Area - 4/5 - SF has a lot of homeless people all over the city. This area was no different. There were some homeless people around the area that made me a little uncomfortable at first. After awhile I got use to it. Amenities 5/5 - This place had linens, basic kitchen supplies, dishwasher, wireless internet, cable, laptop computer...everything you could need on vacation. I thought it was a little odd that they didn't supply any soap or shampoo in the bathroom. We just went to the corner store and bought some so it wasn't a huge deal. The washer/dryer here was a huge plus. However, it took us forever to figure out how to unlock the childproofing lock. The bathtub was one of my favorite things. The bathtub wall had frosted glass which let in light from kitchen. SO beautiful. Don't worry, no one can see you take a shower through the glass. :) Solarium/Sauna - 5/5 - The view from this solarium was breath-taking. So awesome! Garden 5/5 - Very cute garden with a BBQ. We had dinner outside one night. There were only two things that bothered me about this place. 1. Upon entering the apartment, I noticed a smell. I thought it was food from the people who stayed here before us, but the smell stayed our entire trip. It kinda smells like there is a gas leak. We did raise this concern to the owners and they checked it out right away. There isn't a leak, its just how this place smells. You stop noticing the smell after awhile. The owner said it might be the cleaning supplies from one of the closets. 2. One of the neighbors (not in this building - probably down the street) has a very loud dog that starts barking after he or she leaves for work. It starts around 7am and continues sporadically for a couple hours. Overall we really enjoyed our time here. I would definitely recommend place to friends and family.

The apartment is wonderful. It is very relaxing there. You are provided with anything and everything you could possibly need for your stay. The location is great as well. Very close to BART and several Muni lines to downtown. You also have great food and coffee right around the corner. The bed is very comfortable and the place was extremely clean. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

There was a slight hiccup in that the owner had to make an unexpected family trip to Holland so did not respond to our emails prior to setting off for San Francisco, but Nicky, the very charming girl left in charge looked after us very well on our arrival and made us very welcome. The apartment is as charming as advertized, and we very much enjoyed staying there. The kitchen is excellent and there's a nice computer nook, and just about everything we could possibly need provided in the apartment. Super lighting that creates an attractive ambiance. Nice to have Philz -- a tremendous coffee shop -- just around the corner, and a good little grocery on the corner. Fantastic murals in the area. The only parking garage is a 15 minute walk away -- a bit of a drawback -- but there is a garage in the apartment that next time we would ask to have the use of. The apartment was a great little home-from-home base for enjoying San Francisco.

A quaint and well appointed gem of an appartment suited all of our needs and more. Nestled in a really fun neighborhood this apartment was wonderfully decorated and spacious. The outside garden was a joy and the rooftop solarium was an extra special bonus with it's sauna and great views. Transportation was within easy walking distance and the location close to the airport and center city. Phil'z coffee shop was around the block and was a real treat as were the neighborhood restaraunts. We will definately be back.

This apartment really was home from home. It had everything that you need. We appreciated having the laptop too. The kitchen was really well equipped, including an expresso machine. The bed was really comfortable, even having our own bath robes and a selection of books. The area was interesting and vibrant with lots of murals. It was a 5 minute walk to the bus stop or BART station. We had a great week here and would definitely stay there again. A wonderful apartment in an amazing city.

We stayed for four weeks and had the most amazing time! I was born in the City and my wife has been here for 20 years. We decided to take a place where we could "work from home" and still have all the fun the Mission has to offer. The apartment has such bright and comfortable personality from the colorful kitchen to the neat book collection in the bedroom. It was easy to work and play here with the home office space and the stores and restaurants right outside the door. (Philz Coffee is a daily thing that I will surely miss). Our dog, Jim, loved it too with a different walk every day! The Mission is all about living. The color of the murals, sounds of the voices, and textures all around make it a fantastic place to be. And you can walk to Valencia Street, the Castro, Downtown, anyplace you feel like from here. BART (The Bay Area's subway system) can get you even further, and there are even a few Zip Car (car sharing) parking areas around. A sweet place with personality in the heart of a vibrant city. Simone and Kurt's place is a great place to center your San Francisco adventure whether you are coming here for the first time or have been here your whole life. Bring good shoes!

This is a cosy and warm apartment in close proximity to the city centre. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in, a big plus when you are travelling. We also really loved the espresso coffee machine, something we are used to in Australia. Most of all Simone was terrific to deal with, efficient and helpful. She allowed us an early check-in, and, after 14 hours of flying was greatly appreciated ! Thanks Simone! Lorri and Gerry Melbourne Australia

The Mission is an unparalleled neighborhood, full of vibrant and gritty street art, fantastic restaurants and quirky shops- and this little apartment provides a perfect introduction! Right near the heart of the action, but tucked away just enough to be a quiet retreat at the end of the day. Very well laid out, it felt much more spacious than its 560 sq ft, and it had all the amenities of home. For when we ventured out of the hood, the BART was close by and we were even within blocks of a couple car sharing/rental services. I hope we're able to stay again soon, so we can enjoy some Mission Pie from the top of Dolores Park.

This was a beautiful little apartment just right for us. Having access to an outdoors area is a real bonus in the hot afternoons! Excellent location close to Bernal Heights for great views of the city. Close enough to walk downtown or more quickly by BART. The bikes were an unexpected and welcome extra too. I wish I was still there now! Thanks!

Great home base to explore SF. Got there on an easy, quick BART trip from the airport and walked just a few blocks to the flat. Simone was there to give us keys, show us around, give a quick lesson on the remotes and point us to a corner store where we could buy a few essentials. She and Kurt are terrific -- very friendly and helpful. The kitchen was stocked with basics (salt, oil, spices, dish and laundry soap) and there were plenty of fresh kitchen and bath linens. The apartment has been nicely done and is very light for a basement flat. It was clean and tidy, though the furniture could use a good steam cleaning to get rid of stains. The small garden is beautiful and a pleasure to look at through the french doors, even if the weather isn't pleasant enough to sit outside. The Mission District is lively, gritty and real. A great mix of people and lots of fantastic hole-in-the-wall restaurants, as well as several more polished places (great vegan dining at Café Gratitude on Harrison). Accessible via bus from most areas of the city (we advise getting a Muni map on your first day and buying a tourist ticket -- 3 days unlimited riding/$20). We averaged about five miles of walking + a few bus rides/day, and came home too exhausted to enjoy the lovely roof-top sauna and solarium.

My sister and I rented this place for just over a week and we loved it! The flat is adorable, beautifully styled, comfortable, quiet, clean and very safe. Everything has been thought of to make the flat a true home away from home. I really do mean everything here: little packets containing toothbrushes and toothpaste, a plentiful supply of fresh towels, a fully equiped kitchen and even dental floss! We didn't want to leave! Simone is a very helpful host and was quick to respond to any queries that we had. The Mission is a great place to be based with all of the local supermarkets and restaurants and easy access to downtown San Fran via the BART or local buses. The area is so packed with restaurants and little shops that you almost don't need to leave it. The pie shop on the corner is a definite must visit as is the Liberty Cafe in Bernal Heights. We will definitely be coming back to stay here!

We rented this apt for a week my boyfriend and I. Everything as promised was there and more. We couldnt have even wished for better. Close to everything and anything you might need. The apt is exactly as the pictures: clean, cute, romantic, just perfect. Everyday we woke up we were so happy to have found that apt for our stay in San Francisco, and if we do get to come back we would definatly stay there again. 10 out of 10! Everything promised and a lot more. Whilst we didn't get to meet Simone personally, everything was well organised and hassle free. Great location, in the middle of a vibrant area with lots of great places to eat, places to mooch around and grocery stores to get stuff to cook at home. BART was just a few blocks walk away in a safe feeling neighbourhood and then only a few mins into downtown or an easy bus ride. Charmingly decorated, great facilities (internet, computer, surround sound tv/cable/dvd) plenty of space to sprawl and just relax. Homely, tasteful but avoiding being clinical or cold. Somewhere you feel you can just relax. Wonderful kitchen full of not just essentials but little things that make it a pleasure to cook there, utensils, spices, little extras. No compromises there, if you want to enjoy some of the fine fresh food SF has to offer, you can cook it here. A great retreat away from the hustle of the tourist traps.

This is indeed a very charming place. The appartment has all the practical things you will need (eg. computer, internet, hairdryer, washing machine & dryer ect.). It even has a lot of things that you didn´t know you would need (eg. sauna on the roof!). But most importently: it has a great personal decoration with many interesting details - both inside and outside in the cosiest little garden. Finally Simone is a great and welcoming host, and lives nearby if anything occures.

Firstly the warm welcome we received from Simone was like a close friend or family member. What a kind generous person who was there to help us in anyway shape or form. We have stayed in a few of these holiday rentals and this is by far the best place I have stayed at. There is everything you will ever need in this apartment and even MORE. It absolutely exceeded our expectations and we wish we had stayed for 3 weeks instead of 1. The Mission District is such a great place location wise, it is close to buses, the BART (train) and many cafes and restaurants. I would not look any further, just BOOK IT! Thank you, Thank you. We really hope to be back some day very soon. I would not stay anywhere else in San Francisco. One last thing Simone has styled this apartment beautifully and created a homely atmosphere, it is like a Home Away from Home. We LOVED it.
