If you're like me, it's not really a beach vacation unless I can see and hear the ocean. For such a person, this is the perfect property. There are gorgeous 180 degree views of the ocean from either of two decks and since the house is built on stilts, there is no way for anyone to block your enjoyment of the scenery.
The house has many new upgrades including new furniture, mattresses, beautiful high grade laminate flooring in the main living area, granite counter tops, plus a fresh coat of paint. There is a large partially covered deck off the living room and a second covered deck off the master bedroom. The views from either deck are spectacular and even allow you to keep an eye on the little ones as they make their way to and from the beach which is only a couple of hundred feet away (less than a minute walk). There is a new large screen high definition television in the living room and each of the four bedrooms has its own high def flatscreen TV. Premium movie channels are usually available and every tv has tivo connected to Directv's latest and greatest whole house dvr system.
This house includes all the amenities you'd expect to find in your own home including a full size washer and dryer, and for those who hate doing laundry, Ocean Lakes offers a full service laundry for a minimal fee (my wife loves it). The kitchen includes all necessary utensils plus coffee maker, microwave, and dishwasher. There are three bathrooms, two of which include shower massage units for relaxing after a full day of fun in the sun. The outdoor shower makes for quick clean ups after playing in the sand.
The property is perfectly located in the center of the campground in easy walking distance to all the amenities Ocean Lakes offers. Few places can equal the multitude of activities available along the Grand Strand or within close driving distance, but for those who simply want to hang out at the beach, Ocean Lakes is a self contained community offering everything you need for a relaxing beach vacation without ever leaving the property.
This is a NON SMOKING, NO PETS HOME.....We love our furry friends but many of our guests and family have serious allergies. Your understanding is appreciated.

We represented four families during our stay at L-36 and never once did anyone get under foot of anyone else. Very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. A very short walk to the beach and the variety of amenities at Ocean Lakes. The first night there my husband spent watching the golf carts...unbelievable :) You just have to experience it. I would strongly recommend this house for your next rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is only something I thought I could dream about. My new husband and I stayed at this wonderful house the week of our wedding. This would typically be a really stressful time but this house really lets you relax. I loved just sitting on the lower level deck watching the ocean during the day and the golf cart parade at night. This house has so much room. The best part I believe about this house is almost everything you need or want are so close and the beach is right there within a few minute walk. I have since asked my husband if we can go back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our visit was from May 8, 2011- May 14, 2011. We had an incredible time! This house is absolutely fabulous. I could sit on the couch with the front door open and just watch the ocean...it was amazing. We also enjoyed eating some of our meals on the first level deck in the high stools while looking out at the ocean. The house has wi-fi which was great to stay connected to family and friends while on vacation as well as my children being able to connect to it for their games. The flat screen tv's and dvr was great too! This house was in short walking distance to everything we needed....the pool, the game room, putt putt, the ocean, and the store. It was nice to have so much room to move around during our stay...it was more like home rather than a cramped motel room. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to visit the beach!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

We loved being so central to the entire campground and the close proximity to the beach. We had a great time as usual at Oceanlakes. The pictures are accurate but it is even more beautiful in real life. The owners were helpful and got back with us promptly. Sitting on the front deck each evening was so relaxing and the golf cart parade quite entertaining. I recommend this home for a family looking for an awesome home away from home at the beach.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This house is best location in ocean lakes, my family stayed here 4th of july weekand had the best time. right in the middle of all the action plus minutes from ocean, pools, store, lakes, etc. get tired, sit on fabulous upper or lower deck and watch the ocean or golf carts go by. We have stayed in ocean many times but this house and location is by far the best ever. Thompson family, Chesapeake, OhioRecommended for: Adventure seekers.

We have stayed in this house twice since the new owners took it over and it is wonderful. It feels like a home rather than a rental, from the leather furniture to the granite countertops to the immensely comfortable adirondack gliders on the front decks. On one occasion we stayed in the master suite and on our other visit we had the upstairs queen bedroom. The master bedroom is huge, with its own covered deck giving front-row seats to the sunrise over the ocean every morning. The other bedrooms are small, as would be expected in a rental, but the mattresses sleep well and the flat panel TVs are a nice touch. We love the feeling of spaciousness this unit has - no 'crammed in' feeling either in the house or the location/lot and plenty of parking. The ocean is less than a two-minute walk straight out the front and the pool, outdoor grill/restaurant, and store are a five minute walk to the right. We recommend the Market Common district (a five minute drive) for great shopping (Barnes & Noble and lots of retail shops), dining (everything from pizza to PF Changs, but especially including Divine Prime, where we went for a faultless and exquisite anniversary dinner that was worth every dime), a great new (clean!) movie theater, and a gorgeous park. All in all, this has become our favorite 'home away from home' in Myrtle Beach and we look forward to coming back!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: My wife and I first discovered Ocean Lakes 30 years ago when a client offered us the use of his park model trailer. At the time, the campground hardly existed, but over 30 years we have returned again and again making it our home away from home. We have been avid campers for most of our lives moving from tent, to pop up, to travel trailer, to motor home--- but in 2009 we had an opportunity to buy what for us was the perfect vacation home centrally located in the campground we love. For the time being, we'll keep our motor home for our travels away from Ocean Lakes, but when someone else isn't enjoying our little slice of paradise, we hope to return to continue building memories with our family and friends.
