About the owner: After teaching for thirty-four years and maintaining cars, airplanes and properties for even longer, being parents and grandparents, we have become 'snowbirds'. Creating 'home' along the west coast has been a life long passion. This Pleasure Point Cottage is one of our favorites. It's a place we enjoy coming to for sheer relaxation, and we take delight in creating an affordable vacation option for others.
Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz: We love the ambience, especially the fresh ocean air, the mild climate and natural beauty of Monterey Bay with its powerful surge of ocean waves on the beach. There is a wealth of outdoor activities here, and access to either San Francisco peninsula or Carmel-by-the-Sea is easy from the Santa Cruz area.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: Where else in the world can you, walk out your front door and down the street a couple of blocks to go surfing, comfortably stroll so many beaches, walk the dog through the Light House Field or along the marshes, go deep sea fishing or sailing, go hiking or ride horseback through the nearby redwood forests; or go kayaking in the Elk Horn Slough? A continuing favorite is to watch the otters, birds and sea lions play in the estuary at sun set, while enjoying a fine fish dinner at Moss Landing.
