Great view / House needs work
Great view / House needs work
This house is located in one of the best coves on Lake Barkley! Excellent for boating, skiing, tubing, wake boarding, etc! The view from the house is beautiful! However, the house itself needs some work. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find the house wasn't cleaned properly and had a distinctly strong stale, musty smell throughout. The master toilet leaked and there was mold in the large bathroom shower. The windows and glass doors hadn't been cleaned in quite some time which inhibited our view of the lake from the inside. The driveway is difficult to navigate as it is quite steep and we were unable to park our truck and trailer. The railing spaces on the deck are very wide, so I wouldn't recommend this house for families with young children. Furniture needs to be updated throughout the house as well. With a little time and effort, this could be a great vacation house.

Stayed here for 3 months fall/winter while on a travel nursing assignment the house was comfortable with everything we needed the fire place was awesome and so was the fishing! We were very comfortable here the home is well maintained and the only issue we had was with the heat pump and was addressed right away. Overall an excellent stay! Would recommend the Rainbow Ranch!

I have had the pleasure of staying at the Rainbow Ranch in the early spring for the last three years! Our first trip to the Ranch started with my son and i pulling in the driveway to the view of McNabb Bay. Before we unpacked we grabbed our poles and walked the very short walk down to the water. Little did i know there was a four lb. bass waiting for me to finish my second cast. I dont know if all the stars were in aliagnment that week, but that week i spent with just me and my 14 yr. old son was the most phenominal fishing i have ever had on Lake Barkley. I highly recomend the Rainbow Ranch to any father who would love to Relax in this beautiful A frame. Fishing from the dock or your prized bass rig. Resting in the hamock or one of the comfortable beds. The Rainbow Ranch is comfortable and inviting. If you fish more than half a mile from the house you have gone to far.

Home away from home
We rented this home and were very pleased with the location of the home, access to the lake and dock, the care and upkeep the owners have taken to make sure their guests are comfortable and feel at home. It was very nice that each bedroom had its own entrance to the deck area and each had a view of the lake. The home has a very beautiful view of McNab bay located between Prizer Point Marina and Eddycreek Marina. The wildlife around at night was also an added feature we enjoyed. I would recommend this home to any of my friends or family for a vacation get away...you will not want to leave. Have a few friends over for dinner and great conversation, you will not regret your stay.

About: We were fortunate to buy this wonderful home from our friends in September 2013 and our plan is to retire here in a few short years. Until we are able to make that dream a reality, we want you to continue to enjoy our home and make it yours during your stay with us.
The first time we walked out on the deck and looked out at the lake, with a perfect view down the bay to the main lake and the Land Between the Lakes (LBL), we knew we had found our waterfront paradise. We appreciate the fact that you are making lasting memories here at Rainbow Retreat. Lake Barkley is so beautiful and we like to think that you have the best view on the lake. The sunset is just breath taking as you sit and relax on the deck. The morning time is very peaceful as you sit and have coffee you can listen to all the nature that surrounds you. We loved sharing the house with friends, both old and new.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Breakfast on the sun porch, drinks on the deck at sunset, hikes up the road with the dogs, driving the boat up toward Eddyville and the 'state pen' or downriver toward Cadiz and the Lake Barkley State Resort Park.
