Astor mobile home description
This is Florida at it's best!! Home completely renovated(includung furnishings and appliances)in May 2010!! Astor is often referred to as 'The Jewel of The St Johns' and after visiting our community you will see why. Astor is a quaint little community that offers a smorgasbord of activities such as boating, fresh water fishing in the river and nearby lakes (the area is well known for some of the best fishing in the state), swimming and snorkeling in the springs, kayaking and canoeing, water skiing, scenic river tours, hiking, biking, horseback riding and just relaxing! Additionally, Astor is located in the beautiful Ocala National Forest offering miles of scenic roads in which to ride your motorcycle, jeep, or whatever mode of transportation you choose. Locally we have great restaurants on and off the water, marinas, fish camps, boat rentals, a public boat ramp, grocery store, library, church, banking and a post office. Fifteen minutes away in nearby Deland there are more restaurants, shopping, movie theaters and antiquing.
Astor is located in Central Florida on U.S. Hwy 40. Daytona beach is approximately 30 miles to the east and Ocala is approximately 30 miles to the west. It is also approximately one hour south of historical St Augustine and one hour north of Orlando. Not only do you have the availability of the activities listed above but you also have the convenience of visiting the beach, theme parks, historical sights, great shopping and dining within a 30 to 60 minute drive from the property.
The property itself is nestled along the beautiful St Johns River. Even though the property doesn't sit right on the river, there is a great peek view of the river. There is plenty of room to bring boat/trailer, motorcycle, jet ski, bicycle or whatever you like. There are restaurants and a marina within walking distance of the property. Come enjoy ALL Florida has to offer.

More than a Fisherman's Retreat
More than a Fisherman's Retreat
My wife and I and another couple spent an awesome week at this beautiful retreat. It was homey for my wife and had everything a boater and fisherman would want. We took our boat and launched it at Astor Bridge Marina and went north about 2 miles and had an awesome catch of the day of fishing on Blue Creek. We spent a day at Daytona Beach which was a pleasant drive of only 30 min. The ladies went to Deland antiquing (15 min) away. We took our jeep on the Two Trails in the Ocala National Forrest where we spotted many deer, an owl and even a pack of wild hog. You can see a peak of the river and you could even walk to the Marina if you had a notion. Thanks Mike and Laurie for the awesome usage of your home. We will be back...
