This was my 2nd time staying at the Outer Banks in a rental home, and this house was SOOO much better than the first one I stayed at. It was spacious, relaxing (especially the POOL and HOT TUB!!), and just all around awesome. Even with multiple houses surrounding the area, there weren't a lot of "neighborly-related disturbances". I stayed at this house with my family of 5 and 5 of our friends for a week and there was never a dull moment or an empty bed (haha)! I hope we can come back again next summer!!! =DRecommended for: People with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We stayed with friends who had rented the house and it made for a wonderful vacation experience. There is lots of room/space for kids, teens, and adults and the views are sensational. We loved sitting out on the deck, watching the boats go by and catching the evening breezes. There is a nice boardwalk off the back of the house that runs along the bay for walking and jogging. Easy access to lots of ocean beaches and to Manteo. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have been to the OBX many times but I must say this was the best house in which I have stayed. The flow was great for a large group and the pool, view and location were excellent. The homeowner also gave an outstanding restaurant suggestion that was less than five minutes from the house and cooked with local foods. I am from Asheville where we have a huge push for buying local so it felt great to do this in another community. Thanks for a great getaway! This was our 1st trip to the Outer Banks, and to put it in perspective in regard to the home & its accommodations, it would be like making your 1st trip to New York City & staying in the penthouse at The Ritz; and that is potentially an understatement. This home is absolutely SPECTACULAR!! We visited with 2 other families & there was something for everyone to do, plenty of space for all, and room to relax and unwind both inside & out. The home is quite literally right on the water, and the evening breezes were completely mesmerizing. In reading this one might think I am inserting hyperbole and exaggerating things, but as a fellow VRBO owner I can say unequivocally that this house is AMAZING! We will most certainly be back again soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This home exceeded our summer vacation expectations! We were blown away even before we walked in the door as we traveled through this beautiful, waterfront, private neighborhood. Entering the home felt like we were coming home. We made ourselves at home immediately, streaming our iPod through the living room/deck speaker system. We could not believe how much better the house looked compared to the pictures. It was spotless, well appointed and very well-maintained. Having the main living area on the top floor affords the best waterfront views. We relaxed on the decks each morning with our coffee and each evening when the sun went down. The pool in the backyard was by far the biggest surprise. I thought it was going to be small from the photos, but it was perfect!! Plenty of room to hang out around the deck, lounge in the spa, use the outdoor shower or sit under the shade of the pergola. Our communication with the owner was super helpful. They gave us great ideas for day beach trips; where to buy fresh, local seafood and their favorite local restaurants. We usually travel with friends or family, this trip being no different. Everyone from the teens to the adults had only great things to say about the house, the trip, the Outer Banks in general. We hope to make it an annual trip and will recommend this property to anyone and everyone!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My parents rented this house for us to vacation at the Outer Banks with our family and friends. My friends & I absolutely LOVED the pool & hot tub, and spent most of our time enjoying them! We had a blast! They also had a pool table, Nintendo, and a few big screen TV's for us to watch movies together. We also went to the beach nearby to play in the ocean, ride the big waves, and hang out. The house was just awesome, and we are already begging my parents to bring us back next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We have 3 children and we all love the water. We live on a lake in Williamsburg, VA and enjoy the fishing and wildlife at home, so what better place to be than in Manteo where the fishing and wildlife is plentiful.
Why the Owner Chose Manteo:
We have been coming to the Outer Banks all our lives and have always loved it for the beaches and laid back friendliness of Pirates Cove. After renting different homes in Pirates Cove for years we found a home for sale in 2007 that allowed us the opportunity to dock our boat right behind the house, which is something we had come to appreciate over the years.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of the many benefits that we enjoy is the fact that we are only 2 hours away from our beautiful 'Beach Home' so we get to visit quite often. We love fishing and get to do that in the sounds that surround pirates Cove and in the ocean. There really couldn’t be a more perfect spot for our family to come home to. It is so relaxing here with beautiful sunsets and being able to walk out our back door and be on the boat within minutes. We thoroughly enjoy our short boat rides to Manteo for their great restaurants and shops.
