We loved this house from the moment we stepped in through the front door. It was warm & welcoming. The ocean views from inside & outside were breathtaking. Everything was in perfect order & the cabinets were filled with all the basic necessities we would need....spices, dishes, pots & pans etc. The location was excellent, whether we wanted to drive to the Cape, Boston, or poke around in Plymouth itself. Everything was easy to get to. And Gail could not have been nicer! She was available for any questions we had. We enjoyed our time in paradise so much we didn't want to leave.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I am thrilled with the very posirive reviews "the house on the hill" has received. It is a wonderful spot with a magnificent deck hanging over the ocean! a perfect place to relax and enjoy life! This tenant has already booked for next year and I'm happy to have them return!

This is the type of rental property you always hope to find and is exactly as described. The house and property are lovingly maintained, clean and immaculately attended to. The minute you walk through the door you are treated to spectacular views of the ocean and coastline. A wonderful wrap around deck makes for a perfect way to enjoy the vistas. The kitchen is well equipped for those who like to cook. The outdoor gas grill was in good working order and the L.P. tank full and ready to use. The house is located in a quiet charming neighborhood and offers a great launching place for walks in the area or exploration of the surrounding towns, Cape Cod, Boston and points north. It is the type of place you will want to return to.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We had a perfect vacation at this wonderful beach house. The views are fabulous .... words can't describe the early morning sunrises, the pink sky when the sun goes down and the moon glimmering on the water at night. The house itself is everything as described on the website but BETTER. Very clean with very well stocked kitchen and baths. The yard and landscaping is beautiful. The location is great 1/2 way between Boston and Cape Cod where there are many things to see and do including a great choice of restaurants. The only problem is the house is so lovely it's hard to leave and go out and be a tourist.....but it is wonderful to come home to at the end of the day.Owner response: I'm so happy your visit was so perfect! Love to have happy tenants who love the house as much as we do.....Do come back again!

The house and location was exactly as described in the write up. The owner was always a pleasant phone call away and very helpful. The house was well stocked for cooking, lounging or beaching. The water view from the deck was amazing. Plymouth is centrally located to many activities for a Cape Cod vacation. We would highly recommend this house!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This was our second visit to this wonderful haven. When we pulled into the driveway we all let out a sigh of sheer happiness. The house was still there beckoning us with warm arms. And when we opened that front door again, the ocean view from all those windows still took our breath away. The house is lovely inside and out. No one could possibly be unhappy with this jewel on top of the hill. It emits joy and peace and the excitement of discovery. The furnishings are perfect and we enjoyed the large deck where we reclined and listened to what the waves had to say and count the stars shooting across the dark night sky. Thank you Gail for sharing your paradise with us!Owner response: I just love Ginger's family to come and stay in Plymouth, they love it almost as much as we do! and she points out the wonderful things I take for granted. They are welcome to return anytime!

Do your self a favor and rent this place. My wife and three sisters loved it. Our ages are 85, 83, 81, 77 and 75. Beautiful decor, comfortable sofa and chairs. Very nice dining area with a well stocked kitchen. We spent a great deal of time on the deck. Chairs and lounges were very comfortable. Outstanding ocean view from the upstair bedrooms. The sunrise was a beautiful site to behold, so don't miss it. We had a full moon....awesome!!! Be sure to bring binoculars, I forgot mine...bummer!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks, your wonderful review makes me want to rent my own home! How well I remember the beautiful sunrises and the full moons over that deck! Nothing like it....

Our stay was a surprise for my husband...his birthday week. The whole family loved the house. Walking in seeing the ocean view was amazing. The pictures do not even compare to being there...everyone was in awe. Even though the weather was rainy it did not in any way hamper our excursions. Just some drizzle, light rain off and on. We were able to enjoy dinner on the deck one sunny day. It is a great place to stay midway between the Cape and Boston. We took trips to both and came 'home' early enough to relax and enjoy the evening- reading, listening to the surf, walks down to the beach. My husband would have been happy just to stay at the house the whole time. We definitely will stay again when out on the east coast. I am so glad we chose the 'house on the hill' from all the others.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so glad you were thrilled with your visit east and your stay at "the house on the hill" It is a beautiful spot even in "drizzly" weather. We eagerly await your return and remember we do offer a discount for returning visitors!

When looking for a place to use as a base for our East Coast adventure we read the reviews of many rentals in Boston, Salem and Pylmouth. We are so glad we choose the "House on the Hill". The house is EVERYTHING stated in the reviews of others and more. After a long day walking the Freedom Trail, visiting Plymouth Plantation and the Mayflower II we would open the front door and just take a breath...aaahhhh...we were home. We easily traveled from the Cape to Boston, Salem and Gloucester always returning to a home offering complete comfort. That is the special trait this house has--when you walk in you are home! The home is located in a first class neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful family homes, on a quiet street, with unbelievable veiws. We enjoyed it all even the weather. We had a little rain, enjoyed watching a lightening storm over the bay, saw both beautiful sunrise and sunsets. We sipped morning coffee and ate our evening meals with gentle balmy breeze. Life couldn't get any better....at least not the week we spent at the House on the Hill.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: It is rare that I meet a tenant, but I had the pleasure of meeting Robin and Jim and their children. They could've beeen instant friends. I am thrilled they so enjoyed their visit and were able to see so much in the area. Your review makes me want to jump in my car and stay in Plymouth forever....

My husband and I rented this house from 11/13-11/20/10. When we walked in the front door our only reaction was "WOW!!!!!" What a unbelievable view---wall to wall windows with the ocean at your doorstep. Not only from the downstairs, but the upstairs as well!!! You could open the windows and sliders and listen to the ocean 24/7. If you wanted to go to the beach, it was a short walk or a very short drive. What was nice was it was also close to everything----grocery stores, restaurants, malls, etc. Very convenient location. The house and grounds are very well kept and very clean. I could go on and on, but I would only be repeating myself on what a great house to rent for the perfect vacation!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Sandy, Thank you for your lovely review, sounds like "the house on the hill" was just what you needed. Please know that we do offer a discount to returning tenants, hopefully we will see you again! Thanks again and a very Happy New Year! Gail
