A “lake cabin” vacation can become a reality at Hyatt Lake Resort, approximately 22 miles east of Ashland on Rt. 66. The forest surrounds the cabin, which is located at 'Campers’ Cove.” From the front deck you can BBQ while viewing the lake, enjoy the Jacuzzi or just sit and watch the eternity of stars in the dark mountain skies, eagles, osprey, geese. Last August, a doe, and sometimes her two fawns, made early evening visits to the area surrounding the cabin. Inside are the simple comforts that make a lake cabin comfortable from a completely furnished kitchen to linens and satellite TV.
Hyatt Lake Resort is located on Hyatt Lake, which is a sister lake to Howard Prairie Lake about five miles away. At 5200' elevation Hyatt Lake is slightly higher than Howard Prairie Lake. Make sure you bring some warm clothes even towards the end of summer, when it can get chilly. Mushroom hunters will enjoy the Hyatt Lake area in both spring and fall. Also your visits could include a visit to Ashland Shakespeare Festival, Britt summer music festival in Jacksonville, Crater Lake, Oregon Caves and the Klamath Wildlife Refuge.
Being open year round, Hyatt Lake offers a fabulous restaurant (just in case you don’t want to cook!!) and a wide variety of activities. Summer brings warm days and cool nights. From spring to late fall, fishermen come from far and wide to catch one of the trophy trout Hyatt Lake has been known to produce.
The Pacific Crest Trail is a destination where hikes and bird watchers can enjoy a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes and Osprey, are just a few of the many birds you will find in the area. Wildflowers abound all around you! Make sure to bring your binoculars and camera! Winter comes alive at Hyatt Lake with snowmobile trails, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting. We have been there in the snow, and it is a 'winter wonderland.' We really enjoy our cabin!

It just has a warm, fun atmosphere. Very relaxing and very clean. Its the best get-a-way place i have rented since i came back to Oregon to stay. that was 32 years ago and many rented vacation places. and your price to rent just cant be beat! And it was so nice to be so close to the lake. you can leave your cabin and be by the water in less than one minute. it was one of the best experinces we ever had. but i think most of all we enjoyed the quiet of the warm and cozy cabin. the atmosphere inside and out was very tasteful and welcoming. the BBQ and hot tub were like the cherry on top of a SundayDid you find this review helpful? About the owner: My husband and I retired to Klamath Falls, OR after living in So. California for 30 years. Our children graduated from Henley High School, and our daughter still lives here. My husband was an electrical engineer for So. CA Edison and I was a church secretary for 10 years. I still keep busy keeping books for a few area churches and my husband loves his yard work. We love this area and feel blessed to live here.
Why the Owner Chose Ashland:
We chose this property because of its close proximity to Klamath Falls, Ashland, Medford, and other cities in So. Oregon. The Hyatt Lake area, close to Howard Prairie, is beautiful and we appreciated the way the owners of the resort remodeled the restaurant and added the cabins to 'Camper's Cove.'
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We enjoy the serenity ... the views ... the clear air ... and, of course, the fishing! We feel so relaxed after having stayed a few days. And to think, it is only one hour from Klamath Falls, 22 miles from Ashland and approximately 40 minutes from Medford!
