We brought our family of 5 + 2 extra kids for a couple of nights in February. This is a great roomy cabin. With 3 rooms plus a loft, there is space for everyone and their stuff. Some really awesome stuff: a large kitchen table for playing cards, a well-stocked kitchen with more pots and pans than I have in my own house, a beautiful wrap-around deck, 2 flat screen TV's (not that we went there to watch tv, but still). The only negative is the sectional/sleeper upstairs. It has seen better days; but hey, it's cabin furniture. Also want to comment on how great the owner is to work with. A really nice guy and very accommodating. We would definitely come back again.

This is a super nice cabin w/a view of Lake Cushman. It's a great place for families/small groups. 3 seperate bedrooms, plus bunkbeds in an upstairs living area w/TV/DVD/Wii. It was clean and had all neccesities. There is a small park w/in walking distance. Owners are available/helpful for questions/concerns. If going in winter make sure you are prepared to dig in. The build up to the parking area was super high and hard/icy that it was very difficult to get in. Everything else was super cozy & was true to what owners site says. There are excellent hiking/snowshoeing trails near by. Very quiet and peaceful!

Our stay at this property was wonderful. We enjoyed good weather, being at the lake, and watching all of nature's little critters. The house was exceptionally well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Annual Family Get-Away

We loved this house! For the past few years my boys, their families and myself have planned a summer get-away. We always rent a house and have spent time in many different areas of the state in search of that perfect vacation spot. This year my family told me it was the best vacation ever and to stop looking because we found the perfect place! I have five grandchildren ranging in age from 18 months to 23 years. There was definitely something here for everyone. The lake front park was perfect for the younger kids. There is a “logged off” swimming area that was shallow enough for the little ones to splash around in without having to worry about them wandering out too far. They also loved playing on the playground swings and slide and jungle gym. My grandson and son brought their boats and the boat launch and dock facilities were perfect. The lake is very large, not too crowded, with plenty of room to enjoy all water sports as well as many nice fishing spots. The house was very clean, had a rustic cabin feel to it but with all the comforts of home including a large dining area, comfortable beds and sleeping areas, games, DVDs and a WII. We loved the big deck that extended to both sides of the house and the view from the grounds was spectacular. One evening on the walk back from the lake the kids saw a couple of deer and each morning got to see squirrels, bunnies and chipmunks running on the grounds. The owner is so very nice and accommodating. We’re already looking at the calendar and picking out dates for our stay next year.

What a Surprise. Our first rental and it couldn't have been better. We enjoyed everyday, with outstanding views and so many things to do...the 6 and 7 year old grandsons were ready for bed at the end of the day! Swimming, Hiking , Exploring, you name it, it was within easy reach but the added PLUS was the "cabin" so well laid out and ready to recieve families, Our every comfort was there. I hope every family has had as much fun as we did!!! Linda and Jim

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Cushman. The house was great. Fully stocked, comfortable beds, lots of deck space for enjoying the outdoors. Large dining room table for sitting around in the evening playing games. Everything was wonderful. Loved that we could bring the dogs. Property was well maintained, clean, etc. The lake is so clean and clear. Great for swimming. Owner was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this property.

Came here as a group of twelve and had such a great time! Lake cushman is a beautiful lake and the area surrounding has some great hiking. The house was perfect size for all of us and the owner was even nice enough to let us use part of the gazebo that happened to be available during our stay. The owner was very accommodating and great to work with as he answered all of our questions prior to booking and upon arrival called to make sure we had everything we needed. The house had everything we needed. All we had to bring was food but the kitchen was fully stocked with cooking supplies. Would definitely recommend this place to any large group looking for a place to get away to. Right by the lake and very close to some excellent hiking. This place is great!

This was one of the best family vacations we ever had!! The house was so big and nice and clean, our kids loved the large upstairs area. We didn't have to bring anything but food, everything else was supplied for us. The lake is only a 5 minute walk from the house and the boat launch was right around the corner. Very convenient!! We will be back for sure next year and would love to make this our vacation spot every year. Thank-you for making us feel so welcome in your home, we will highly recommend this place to everyone we know.

Fully stocked and very clean

Believing I'd need to bring lots of extra's to cook with I was pleasantly surprised that the house was fully stocked with everything we'd need. I was able to feed all 10 people each meal in relative ease. The kitchen is huge and the living rooms have more amenities than most of your high end hotels. Flat screens in both living rooms along with, DVD players, VCR's, Satellite TV and an in house collection of DVD's and Video Tapes if you have time to watch them. The owners provide a book with all the details of the house, so be sure to check that out. It has some valuable information inside. The pictures of the house don't do it justice and you'll be surprised once you arrive onsite. One downside that was an upside for me is that there is really no cell signal at this house, but for those that need to be connected an internet connection and a land-line are provided. Do yourself a favor and disconnect from the web for a while, you just might like it. The house is secluded enough that you don't feel that you're even on a street in a beautiful neighborhood. Everything is close, except the nearest store, so bring your food or stop in town at the local grocery store. There are lots to do on the lake, just make sure you make time. We really enjoyed the weekend there and would recommend it to anyone. And we will be back!

My wife, our two year old son and myself spent a terrific couple of days at this lake house with another couple and their infant daughter. We loved it!!! The place exactly what you picture a lake house to be... It's comfortable and lived in just enough so that you feel at home when you walk in the door. All that we had to bring was food and everything else was there. From the kitchen to the bathrooms to the satellite dish tv with Wii, it was perfect. We relaxed and played games and didn't miss any good sports on tv. There were puzzles, games and books and the park by the lake was a short walk and was perfect. My son couldn't get enough of it... See you soon!!!

My family came to this Home for the weekend and it was great. It was filled with everything we might have forgotten, the private park was right around the corner, and the sleeping arrangements worked out well too. It felt like it was a Home away from home. Had lots for movies, and we spent a lot of time playing the board games that were There. Beautiful surroundings. Definitely would come back again! :)

Very home-y cabin on a beautiful piece of land! Full of all the comforts of home.. loaded kitchen, books, games, movies! We loved being there and gathering around the large kitchen table. The lake was a short walk, easy for everyone to get to! Everthing is labeled for easy use. We enjoyed ourselves and felt immediately welcomed.

Great Christmas at Lake Cushman

The house on Lake Cushman was everything advertised in the listing and more. Our family needed a place with room for six adults and two children to spend Christmas together, and this house fit the bill to a T. The house is just a few minutes walk from the lake, and the close proximity to hiking at Olympic National Park made the experience memorable. Although it rained most of the day on Christmas, the availability of two flat screen televisions, DVDs, and a Wii game system gave us all plenty to do after the presents were unwrapped. There was a great selection of books and movies for kids and adults as well. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of room for us to spread out and have privacy when it was desired. We had a wonderful time and would certainly recommend this property to friends and family.

Our family of five (3 adults; 2 kids) stayed here for Wed-Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend and had a great time! The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfy. The movies, coloring books, arts and crafts items, and Wii were perfect for the rainy weather. We were able to get a good hike in on Friday. The owner was very solicitous. We would rent again!

I had a girls night out last weekend and stayed at this home. The owner was fast in replying to any questions I had. The house was clean and very nice, it surpassed my expectations, The property was absolutely beautiful. The price was very reasonable for the amount of people it accommodates. Like I read in the other reviews... I agree that it is very well stocked with anything you may have forgotten or didn't know to bring. Bright Sunshine, Green Forest, Cobalt Blue Water and Comfortable Home

I treated my 3 sons and two of their significant others along with 2 young grandsons to a weekend stay and we left happy and worn out. The home is very comfortable and well stocked with everything you would need. As noted in the listing, we couldn't get cell phone reception, but did have our computers working, so the techies were still happy. The park, located 2 blocks away, has picnic tables, a kid's playground, basketball court, volleyball court, horseshoe pits and badmitton court. Don't forget to bring your horseshoes, balls, badmitton raquets & birdies. Also, the swimming was great, so bring your innertubes and other flotation fun things. It's a rocky beach, so wearing water shoes really helps. It's a short ride to the hiking trails and lots of information is at the house about the day hikes that are a short drive away. The wrap-around deck was fabulous for those that didn't go hiking. Sitting in the sun and reading while the squirrils and birds are the only sounds you hear is sooooo relaxing. The owner, Corlen, is an absolute sweetheart. If we ever have the chance, we would definitely revisit this location.

The house was extremely well stocked. They thought of the many details necessary when traveling. It was set up against a wooded area with a spacious deck that overlooks the lake. Gorgeous view! The beach to the lake is just about 2 blocks away and offers a play area, bbq, beach type area, etc. The house is stocked with tons of games, videos and books. It sleeps 10+ very comfortably. There are beautiful places to hike, fish, kayak and boat. If you are looking for a place to relax and have quality family, couple or retreat time, this is a great place. Corlen was very easy to work with and the price is very reasonable. Thank you for a wonderful trip with our friends and our family.

The cabin is very near the lake, less than a 5 minute paved walk. Our kids enjoyed the lake and the clear water. The cabin had all the ammenities to keep the kids busy including the Wii and a huge selection of kids movies. The owners are extremely nice and informative. We had a good time and would return. We stayed at this house for a week last summer. It was pefect. We had 2 families (4 adults and 4 children under 4). The house was clean. The sleeping arangements were great. We had all the privacy we needed. One thing that impressed me was that everything was labelled. At one point I had a question about when trash day was, but low and behold, there was a note on the trash can cans that explained the whole process. The place is clean and family friendly. Corlen (the owner) is responsive as can be. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place to unwind and recharge. We'll use this place again. We loved it. No complaints at all. We were 100% satisfied.

The house was just what we needed it to be, with very comfortable sleeping arrangements for all of us (5 adults), fully furnished kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. The setting at Lake Cushman is great with beautiful views of the lake from the deck on the property. The owner was great to deal with and very helpful. I would recommend the property to anyone.

...having comfortable beds and super clean bedrooms for everyone was a relief as I had picked this location. We had 7 adults and 4 kids, there was plenty of room for everyone. The upstairs is a good place to retreat during the day if you need a break from everyone, it is extremely quiet and spacious. The only downside was there was no fire pit allowed - which we discovered after unloading all our wood, so we put a tiny baby pool for the 1 yr old on the deck and sat around that and it was just fine! The property is nicely laid out with tons of privacy - 1 of the decks has a beautiful view of the lake. We brought a boat which we could still put in at the community boat ramp despite the low water level - we understand this low level was a one time thing for 2011. It was great to have the TV and Wii even though it was used sparingly - but came in real handy keeping the kids on their best behavior if they were to use it, most of the time was spent playing the numerous games that were on hand at the gargantuan dining room table which help keep the cooks company before dinner. Everyone was sad to leave this peaceful place. Owners are super considerate and respond rapidly via email or phone to questions!

We came up to cushman lake for our first time this summer and fell in love with it! The area is incredibly serene. the cabin was perfect for us ,with amazing veiws, close to hiking, and most importantly for our 2 year old, walking distant to a park with a breathtaking veiw. there was just 5 of us and we were more than comfortable...we could have had more family in the cabin and fit great. Only wish our stay was longer. Definatley will return. The owner of this property was so kind and gracious. sent us a hiking guide before we arrived, was more than accommodating and gave us easy and great directions for the house ,the town ,and outlying areas. Based on our experince,would recomend this place to anyone, of all ages! We will definatley be back!

We’re getting ready to leave. Thank you so much for letting us recharge at your wonderful place! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck just watching the day go by. We did find time to kayak both down at the Resort as well as making friends with the neighbors down the road and using their kayaks right here. We explored and hiked the Staircase and attempted to tackle Mt. Elinor (using your guide as reference). Corlen – this place is magical. There is such great energy here. I would love to know the history. Many happy times obviously occurred here. You are so fortunate to have this place Thank you for putting it in VRBO and being flexible. We are forever grateful. Great place for friends to gather!

Our group of 12 friends thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away from the city at the rental. The previous reviews were accurate. The drive out was gorgeous! Once we arrived on Friday, the owner called to make sure we were settled in and had all that we needed. There was enough space for everyone and the large dining room table was great for us all to sit around! The view from the deck was beautiful and the nearby park provides lots of activities and we enjoyed spending time near the water. We also went for a hike in the Olympic National Park which is only 5 miles away. We would definitely rent this place again. It's well taken care of and is obvious that it is important to the owners (and you can't beat the price!). Thank you for such a wonderful place to stay!

Me and 7 of my girlfriends stayed here for memorial weekend 2011. The house had everything we needed!! The kitchen is fully stocked and all the games, movies and Wii games were a great bonus. I loved the rap around deck with barbeque and picnic tables. The beds were very comfortable and there were lots of extra blankets to cozy up with while watching a movie. The Wi-Fi was wonderful especially since there was no cell service. We really enjoyed having breakfast, dinner and playing board games together around the huge table in the dining room. The weather was not the best but it didn’t matter, we still had a fantastic time. We LOVED our girl’s getaway, and I would definitely come stay again.

We had a wonderful mother's day weekend out there. The house has everything you need to make you comfortable. There is big collection of the movies and books. My two year old daughter enjoyed that short vacation the most from playing out in a deck or walking in a park that was close by. I loved the big windows in upper living room. Corlen is very responsive and provided all the information we needed to get there and things like that. It was clean and perfect for even larger number of people. We'll definitely come back again with friends and family. I am so glad that my husband and I had a wonderful mother's day with my mom and our daughter.

We spent the week between Christmas and New Years at the house, the first time in 4 years that we had both of our grown children and their spouses/significant others together in one place for the holidays. We had a great time and the house made it easy to be together in that one place for nearly a week. We mainly enjoyed being together but cooked some meals, played some games, and explored the area despite the rain and snow that happened early in the week. The house is furnished with everything we needed to cook and enjoy time away. We did not get to use the decks and other things outside because of the weather but that is okay. We want to return someday when we can make use of those decks and maybe even the gazebo next door because they look fantastic. We got out and walked around the area down to the lake park and around the shoreline and really enjoyed the outdoors. Our daughter and son-in-law were in their 4 wheel drive vehicle so we were able to drive the road down to the Staircase area and into the corner of Olympic NP and up the pass a ways despite considerable snowfall. He actually turned that car around in a snowfield where there were few tracks. The views were incredible though and we took some fantastic photos. We can highly recommend Robin Hood Restaurant in Union. We celebrated our daughter and son-in-law's first wedding anniversary there the last night we were in the area and enjoyed some excellent food. We also enjoyed a day out taking the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, B.C. and eating some great dim sum in Chinatown there. We also drove up to Poulsbo (a quaint Norwegian town) and had breakfast at Shelia's Cafe by the water there. There are so many things to do in the area that it could take one many weeks and months to explore it all so we will have to come back sometimes and start over. Thanks to Corlen and family for the use of the house. It is true that all we had to bring were our clothes and food and the rest is supplied. The house was spotless and very well equipped. I personally felt like I was living in a piece of living history while there, thinking about your family sharing that house over the years and your father trekking those mountain trails and exploring the region as he shared that part of the country with others. I did look at his book in the bookshelf and thought about how blessed you all are with the legacy he left behind. We will treasure the memories we made this past week.

The cabin provided cozy accomodations even in the autumn rain. The owner is very responsive and helpful. Would return - thanks for our stay!

Owner response: Thanks for the great suggestion about the local neighborhood map and I'll get one in the guest book. It can be a bit confusing getting around with all the hills and curves. Maybe the fishing results will be better next time too!

Our family recently rented this lake cabin for a little getaway and had a great time. It is very honestly represented, the photos and description very accurate. The owners have provided EVERYTHING you could possibly need! We brought extra towels for the lake, DVDS, games and then discovered that the Charnell family is so generous that we needn't have bothered! It is also one of few rentals that is Pet friendly and our golden retriever had a blast....

This weekend was a fantastic family adventure! The cabin was amazing! We love that the dining room was so spacious. There was plenty of seating for all of us to eat together and play games while taking in the fabulous views. The cabin was fully stocked with all the essentials which was very convient. I loved having the washer and dryer right at your disposal since the kiddos were tubing at the lake all weekend. When we wern't boating we were hiking. The cabin's convient location is perfect for all of the above! Corlen the owner is very accomadating and made our stay so relaxing. We appreciate him opening up his family's cabin to let our family have an amazing and memorable weekend.

I would like to tell you that we had an excellent time at your cabin, I would like to thank you for sharing your family place with us. We swam till we were exhausted and recovered on the decks. It is a very comfortable and relaxing place. I would also like to say you have an excelent cleaning lady, she was very cordial and wanted us to know how welcome we are.

We had a great time! The weather was great and everything we needed was there. The vhs collection was awesome! I can't remember the last time I rewound a movie. Additionally, the park was pretty empty both days we were there since it was during the week. We spent most the time down there. I would gladly write a positive review on your lake place. We hope to make another trip back in the future! Thanks again.

This is a wonderful place to be active or to be relaxed. There are many trails and places to walk or ride and the house is comfortable with lovely views if you want to stay indoors and play games or watch movies or enjoy the outdoors from the large decks. The dining room is large and kitchen has everything you might want. There was plenty of sleeping space for our group of five adults. The owners are great to work with and made the rental procedure easy and quick. They seem to have thought of everything we might have needed. I very much recommend it.

We have stayed at four different houses around Cushman besides yours, and your cabin was by far the best. We especially enjoyed the large deck area and large dining room, so my whole family had a place to hang out after the lake every day. We also liked the large upstairs bunk room, and watched movies up there most nights. My kids were really pleased with the WiFi so they could keep up with their friends. And the park was so close to the house, and the boat ramp so close to the park, it was very convenient. We do come up there every year, but next July my daughter is getting married in Memphis, so I think it will be 2 years before we get back up there again. I will check with you first before we make any reservations. Thank you again. You were an awesome host and we had a great week! Bill

We had a wonderful time at this cabin over a very rainy Memorial Day weekend. It comfortably slept 9, including two kids and an infant. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the pots, pans, and dishes we needed. There was a great private park within walking distance that had a playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, and a swimming deck. It was especially nice to have the options to watch movies, play card games, and sit around a large dining room table. We would highly recommend this cabin to others.
