Cotuit house description
Sit on the screen porch in the evening and watch the sun set over Popponesset Bay, which opens onto Nantucket Sound.
Our house sits on six wooded acres off a dirt road, adjacent to an Audubon sanctuary and two miles from Cotuit village. We are 15 min from Mashpee and 30 min from Hyannis.
From here ride your bike along dirt roads, take day trips for shopping, walking beaches, exploring outer Cape towns or go on a whale watch from Barnstable harbor.
Or enjoy a reading vacation on the screen porch!
Our house is on the waterfront, where the beach is *very* private and perfect for walking, bird-watching, kayaking and canoeing (bring your own boats!). Swimming at Oregon beach is less than a mile away and we are 2 mi from Loop beach (renters parking sticker included).
Ground floor master bedroom opens onto screen porch; master bath has sliding doors opening to private deck with outdoor shower.
Three second-floor bedrooms each sleep two. First floor office shares master bath and opens onto kitchen. Double room on second floor is extra large.
Each bedroom has its own sink.
Keywords: Comfortable house surrounded by woods with expansive water view, beach access and compete privacy.

We had a very wonderful time on Cape Cod and appreciated your spacious house, well-equipped kitchen, and the delightful screened porch. You are to be commended for considering the disabled in your rental property. The wheel chair access to the house and the lower-level floor plan made it very easy to maneuver the person in our group who is confined to a wheel chair.

Owner response: Mary and her family were wonderful guests during the massive heat wave of July 2013. When asked what might have earned us that precious fifth star, she said, "Being from the D.C. area we are probably a little spoiled with living in an area where everything is air conditioned. If the house was air conditioned (or the weather was more favorable during our week there), we would give it five stars." Rest assured, we work hard to deliver the best Cape Cod weather available!
Exceptionally perfect house to rent. The listing and photos were totally accurate. The property and the ocean views were even better than the pictures. The back open porch and screened in porch are where we spent all of our time. Lots of areas to hike around, lots of beaches to enjoy. We used the grill and the fireplace. Owner helpful in all details. Directions and descriptions were very clear and thorough. I would highly recommend this personal family home on the cape which they so generously share with others. The Cotuit Kettleers Summer baseball league plays nearby and you can hike around Eagle Pond. Breakfast at the Kettle Ho is imperative. Ice cream at the Four Seas in mandatory.

Relaxing Secluded Summer Retreat!
Relaxing Secluded Summer Retreat!
Our week was wonderful and the home was neat, well organized and fully equipped, probably the best we have ever vacationed at. We spent the week reading on the back deck, we ate every meal on the screened porch, explored the area riding bikes, kayaking, beaching and walking. We would definitely rent this home again!

Commune with nature on the Cape!
Commune with nature on the Cape!
This wonderful Cape Cod property was even more secluded than I expected. The home is off the southern end of main street Cotuit, surrounded by forested acres and perched within a few yards of Popponesset Bay. The home is extremely casual with a beautiful deck as well as a large screened porch, perfect for nightly dinners, games and entertaining friends and family and affording excellent views of the bay. It was the perfect spot for us as we had children, grandchildren, and friends visiting over our two week stay. We ate in more than out and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and much more. Cotuit itself is a beautifully quaint Cape Cod village and the main street drive is exquisite with harbor views and magnificently landscaped homes. Several beaches are just minutes away. We fell in love with the little Cotuit Market on Main Street. Lots of good finds there! And Cotuit is centrally located for other Cape excursions including whale watching from Barnstable Harbor!

This is the place for you!
If you enjoy solitude, a relaxing atmosphere, easy access to great kayaking and the most spectacular views of Popponesset Bay---this place is for you! The house is very casual but comfortable. Each bedroom has its own sink and there are two full baths. The large screened in porch is a great setting for dinner with guests and you can watch the sunset over Popponesset Bay. The even larger deck also looks out onto the Bay. We spent many afternoons just reading and relaxing on the deck. If you’re a beach person you can walk to Oregon Beach which only accommodates about 12 cars so there is plenty of privacy. Loop Beach, a short ride away is very pretty but more crowded. Cotuit is a cute town and good for biking around. At 6 pm you can watch the Cotuit Ketteleers represent the hometown in the Cape Cod Baseball League. Many major league baseball players spent a summer playing in this League. The Cotuit Market has everything you might need for a quick dinner including good meats and wine but the Stop and Shop and Roche Bros. markets are only 15-20 minutes away. If you have kayaks—you will love the ability to walk a few minutes down a path to the water’s edge where you can explore two Bays and two rivers. If you can spend the summer here—you will truly relax!
