Location: Quincy, North Central Cascades, Washington State, USA (20 Miles S of Quincy, WA; 5 Miles From Gorge Amphitheater)
Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible Bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
When we built "The Gathering Place" we were planning our dream "retirement" location. Bob retired from the hospitality business so offering an inviting place for guests just comes naturally.
We created our rental unit with our guests in mind -- privacy and the ability to meet each guest's needs for self-sufficiency by including laundry facilities, private bath, entrance, and deck. The unit is well appointed with cozy furnishings, books, games, and satellite TV to meet your expectations.
NEW THIS SEASON! We have added additional privacy by installing a locking door between the upper level living area and the lower level rental unit. We want our guests to feel completely secure, relaxed and safe during their stay.
The community makes available many opportunities for a variety of activities for young and old. The perfect mix for singles, couples, or families.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
We are a "retired" but very active couple who enjoy travel, gardening, boating, swimming, and spending time with our family and friends. We love meeting new people and we are excellent at making our guests feel at home. We work hard at keeping our property appealing yet comfortable.
Why the Owner Chose Quincy
After building our home with our lower-level guest space, we decided it would also provide a wonderful opportunity for a short-term rental for those who love to come to the Eastern Washington area to enjoy our weather, scenery, outdoor activities and peaceful location.
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
We especially enjoy the Columbia River and all it has to offer. We love taking our boat out for a leisurely lunch or dinner, spotting the Big Horned Sheep on the river cliffs, seeing a Bald Eagle, or studying the fascinating rock formations. We also enjoy lunch or dinner at Cave B Winery, or a concert at one of the other local wineries. There are agricultural, geological and winery tours available in the area as well. Our community swimming pool is a great place to cool off during the summer and we have our own local 4th of July celebration complete with fireworks. Of course, nearby in George, WA, you won't want to miss the huge cherry pie, parade, music and street fair.

Great Place to Relax after the Gorge

Bob and Mary are the friendliest and nicest people you could ever meet! The photos do not do the place justice. It is quiet yet it is in a great location within the bustling community of Sunland, right across the street from the community pool. You are literally one bluff over (a ten minute drive) from The Gorge. We cooked our own breakfast and then headed to the Gorge every day. When we headed home later in the evening, we had a safe place to park, cable(dish) to unwind with and a washer and dryer to clean our clothes. The bedding was comfortable, the shower lovely and although we didn't get time to use the barbecue, it was just outside our door waiting in a garden of flowers and home grown veggies. I cannot say enough about "The Gathering Place".

I was fortunate enough to find "The Gathering Place," while looking for lodging options near Quincy, Ephrata, (all of Grant County,) as we vacation there to visit family at least once a year. The Gathering Place was the perfect option for my teen age son and I! It really was our own little apartment for the weekend, complete with a convenient small kitchen, a large bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room! Mary and Bob were very gracious hosts and made sure we had what we needed for an enjoyable stay. The surroundings are gorgeous, we enjoyed sunrises and sunsets with the Columbia River adding to the view. We really didn't have enough time there and can't wait to go back! I would suggest this to anyone, a lovely "gathering place."

I stayed at The Gathering Place while attending a 3-day concert at the Gorge. It was paradise compared to the hot and crowded camping options at the Gorge venue itself. Since this house is just a short drive from the Gorge, we'd return after a hot day in the sun and jump in the community pool. Ahhhhhhhh.... it was wonderful! The Bob and Mary are wonderful and gracious hosts too. We'll be back for sure!
Owner response:Delightful guests! We would welcome a return visit any time!

I stayed at The Gathering Place last summer while taking in a show at the Gorge with my friend. We found the space perfect for our stay with ammenities of a hotel and excellent hosts. Upon arrival Mary and Bob greeted us and provided a tour of our apartment style space and a key card to their community pool. The space is set up with all you need with kitchen TV and DVD player and the bathroom was even supplied with travel sized shapoo, conditioner and soaps. Access to the community pool was the best, with plenty of nice lounging chairs for many people and the pool was even heated. Oh and there was a little store within walking distance that had a lot of items including milk, eggs, butter, beverages etc that came in convenient during our stay. It was a very economical vacation with all the benefits of staying at a nice hotel. I would definitely recommend staying at The Gathering Place! Only aspect that prevented me from posting a 5 star rating was that the space does not have a door seperating the downstairs living area from the up that made me feel a little nervous about my volume but am sure that our hosts could only hear mumbles of conversation and TV and vise versa.
Owner response:The Gathering Place now has a locking door installed between floors which provides privacy, as well as a sense of security and safety.
