In 2006, a Beautiful Lake house was built at the base of the Texas Hill Country along the pristine shores of Canyon Lake to provide a relaxing retreat and act as a meeting place for friends and family. Comfortably supporting large groups: a full kitchen hosts cooking for the whole family. The Home--now named Serenity Cove at Canyon Lake and listed on our website--looks much the same today as it did back then. Surrounded by miles of Texas Hill Country's 'mountains'. The homes exterior belies a cozy atmosphere inside, with tall ceilings, comfy beds, furnishings, and relaxing atmosphere. The roomy home comes with a cozy living rooms, and private covered porches with ceiling fans and outdoor furnishings.
Gleaming ceramic tile floors flank a fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and each private balcony off the lakefront home looks out to the rolling green hillside and placid blue water. After a long day take a dip in the jacuzzi, named after famed hot-tub architect Giuseppe Jacuzzi, and furnished with one of his namesake inventions overlooking Canyon Lake in the Texas Hill Country. This relaxing sauna session may help to oust toxins, clear sinuses, and cleanse the soul. Downstairs at Serenity Cove, beautiful rooms find inspiration in their Hill Country surroundings that help guests adjust to the thin mountain air with large rooms and views of the lake.
Gruene, and Canyon Lake are famous for their abundance of country music shows, dinner eateries, theater venues, and shopping. Once visitors have had their fill of this part of the Texas Hill Country, they can take a trip to New Braunfels, Schlitterbahn a sprawling theme park with water rides, nearby live music at the numerous libation stations, McAdoos Seafood Company, and pioneer craft shops. Located just 14 miles from New Braunfels and Gruene, Serenity Cove at Canyon Lake offers a convenient home base to explore these attractions and take advantage of nearby Canyon Lake's quiet, natural setting.
Just 5 miles south of Serenity Cove, the Whitewater amphitheater has become known as the Live Music Show Capital of south Texas, with 20 live performances featuring more than 50 shows. Shows range from rock 'n' roll, local music, and country's musics most famous musicians.

Located five minutes from Serenity Cove at Canyon Lake is a large assortment of 'toobing' rental establishments. Each tube rental facility has a rental fleet of water-dirigibles that usher in leisurely maritime adventures on the lush waters of the Guadalupe River. Inner-tubes cradle the relaxed bodies of slow-paced thrill-seekers as they partake of an epic journey around the famed Horseshoe. Floats can be a 1- to 10-mile odyssey that can last three-eight hours depending on the number of frightened thrill seekers you're able to bribe with refreshments, and the possibility of good times. Have you ever been to Canyon Lake? It is a 45 minute drive from Austin and you should really make plans to enjoy the beauty and everything it has to offer for a vacation full of family bear fun.
Situated on the pristine waters of Canyon Lake is a magnificent and unforgettable house: ‘Serenity Cove.’ It is a breathtaking bi-level 3 bedroom and 2.5 bath with panoramic views of the lake from every room. There are over a thousand square feet of balconies with plenty of seating to view the lake and to entertain family and friends.
There are so many activities for the whole family to enjoy, including boating, fishing and tubing the nearby rivers. There are two boat ramps close by to launch your boat or jet ski. The water is a stone's throw from the house, and there is a well maintained walking bridge that takes you down to Canyon Lake for a day of fun. The nights are absolutely beautiful with wonderful sunsets and bright stars to enjoy while sitting in the large Jacuzzi.
The home is located in a secluded area only minutes away from area attractions such as the "horseshoe" on the Guadalupe River, Whitewater Amphitheater, historic Gruene TX, New Braunfels TX, Schlitterbahn, and the Guadalupe and Comal Rivers that are famous for their many festivals and fun family activities.
Each room is well appointed with quite comfortable furnishings throughout. The full gourmet kitchen is large enough for several cooks in the kitchen! You can either enjoy your meal out on the deck or at the beautiful dining room table with enough seating for six. The living room coffee table is full of board games for the whole Bear family to enjoy and play. The large master bedroom is located on the main floor and has a luxurious bathroom with a huge shower. Downstairs on the lowest level are the guest bedrooms that also have TVs, DVD players and video games to keep the cubs occupied. There are plenty of pillows and blankets for the two pull out couches located in the lower living room and bunk guest bedroom.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home. The view from the large balconies is outstanding. I would like to comment; however, on the lake access for future travelers. The lake is quite a long distance from the home, and the slope is fairly steep for small children, the elderly, or the overweight and out-of-shape traveler. I think the listing description could be a little more accurate as to how far the lake is from the home. Also, the kitchen is not well stocked. It is a mish-mash of old dishes and pots and pans. There were only 3 large coffee cups to be had. Also, there were only 6 rolls of toilet paper in the entire house. For a week's stay of 9 people, that is not nearly enough. I only say these things for informational purposes to the owner. All in all, we had a wonderful time and really appreciated the beautiful home and lake. The fact that the owners allowed our well-behaved dogs was also a plus.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Hello Kathy, Thanks so much for the review, we enjoyed your stay. I would like to reply on a few issues if possible. The lake is located in the Texas Hill Country, and owned and governed by the Army Corps of Engineers, and don't allow structures to be built on the lake or around by something called a flowage easement land/boundary. Regarding the kitchen we have restocked it with complete sets, and numerous coffee large and regular size coffee cups. Regarding the toilet paper our cleaning personell normally provides 2 rolls per bath per stay, but we will revaluate the tp issues. The home receives updates every year, and we would encourage you to come back and see us in the future. Thanks again for staying with us.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Largemouth bass anglers are most successful on Canyon Lake during the spring, fall, and winter months. Bass fishing in summer on this highland reservoir can be difficult even for the most experienced anglers. Topwater baits such as buzzbaits, Zara Spooks, and Pop-R's are popular in the early morning and evening hours. On cloudy days consistent topwater action can occur all day. Crankbaits are also very popular fished along main-lake points, rocky shorelines, and flooded timber. Popular soft plastic baits include worms, spider grubs, grubs, and soft-jerkbaits. Try spinning gear and light line (6-10 lb.) in main-lake clear water situations. For white and striped bass in the summer and early fall, look for schooling activity around main-lake points and humps. These fish can be caught using topwater baits, jigging spoons, grubs, and rattletraps. Popular techniques for striped bass are trolling with in-line spinners and crankbaits and vertically jigging white bucktail jigs. Live bait presentations for both striped and white bass are popular at all times of the year. White bass spawning migrations occur from February through April. During these months, white and striped bass can be concentrated in the river portion of the reservoir. Anglers catch them using small in-line spinners, small jigs, jigging spoons, small crankbaits, and live bait presentations. Catfish anglers can find channel, blue, and flathead catfish throughout the reservoir. Channel catfish dominate the fishery. Stinkbait and cutbait work well for channel and blue catfish, while live bait is preferred for flathead catfish. The most consistent catches come from the upper third of the reservoir. Trotlining is very popular for flathead catfish.
