The condo was well appointed, comfortable, and everything we could ask for. As we are getting closer to retirement we ESPECIALLY appreciated the fact that we did not have to climb up a load of steps. Even though the add states that it is a basement apartment, it is actually more of a ground floor apartment. You can park the car for your stay and walk to almost everything in the Lake Placid area. If you like to travel, it's a relatively short drive to Burlington, Waterbury, and Montpelier Vermont. Located on a quiet residential street with every and any accommodation you could ask for. Makes for a perfect romantic get -a - way. We will definitely return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My teammate and I stayed here for a long weekend during July for Ironman 2012. Apartment is exactly as depicted in the pictures, brand new and very clean. Great for a couple or small family. The location is perfect, close to Mirror Lake, Olympic Center, and the heart of town. We were able to walk everywhere that weekend. Chris was a fantastic landlord, responded to every email/text right away, and returned the security deposit in a timely mannor. I would most certainly stay here again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I was in Lake Placid for an event at the Olympic Training Center. I wanted to be within walking distance of the OTC and downtown. The Hillcrest Hideaway apartment was absolutely perfect! I was a 5 minute walk from my venue, could walk to everything downtown, and had tremendous access to the scenic walk around Mirror Lake. The appartment is perfectly located for any individual, couple, or small family who wants to be close to town. It was well furnished and clean, and had good internet access, everything you needed in the kitchen, a very nice stackable washer and dryer, and convenient off-street parking behind the main house. Chris, the owner, was great to work with and responded quickly to all of my questions. The only time I used my car was to go to the grocery store, and as one of the other reviewers stated, I probably could have walked there too. I really enjoyed my stay in the Hillcrest Hideaway apartment, and look forward to my next visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband, two kids and I stayed in the apt. for about a week. It was a perfect place to lay our heads after a busy day of hiking, etc. The location to town was the best part. We walked everywhere (beach, brewery, Olympic complex, movies, dinner, breakfast). Chris was also very good in responding asap to any question we had. It was just nice to have more room than a hotel room plus a kitchen. Key with 2 small kids. Great price too.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

What can say!? This place made my summer amazing! Chris was literally the best land lord I've ever had. He made sure I was taken care of and had a comfortable stay. The location is gorgeous. The house is beautiful with all the recent remodeling and has that "at home" warmth to it. Also, it is walking distance from Main St. which is a major atraction to tourist. Hands down, best apartment and living experience I've ever had.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I were in Lake Placid for Ironman 2011. We needed a place close to everything downtown, where the race begins and ends. I can't say enough about this lovely apartment and it's owner! We were minutes, walking distance, from the Ironman expo and finish. The only time we used our car was to go to the grocery store, which was only a couple of miles, if that, from town. We could have walked it. The apartment was very comfortable. We are both over six feet tall and seeing the ceiling in the photos, thought this might be a problem. It wasn't. We fit! The bed was wonderfully comfortable! Firm, but cozy. Temperatures were warmer than usual but we were very comfortable with the fans provided and the windows open! The kitchen was more than adequate and laundry facilities were great!! The bathroom was just right! All of this and it was decorated very nicely! Oh, and plenty of off street parking so we were never worried about our car. The owner was easy to get a hold of and returned our security deposit in a timely manner. I would recommend this apartment for Ironman, or any vacation stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I have stayed at this apartment the past two years for a week stay each year. It is very comfortable, clean and convenient to downtown, being but one block away. The landlord, is very easy to work with, communicates quickly and clearly, and refunds security deposit as expected. I will stay there again next summer. I would recommend this apartment to any individual, couple or family of 3 or 4.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
