The condo was amazing! It is such a great way to experience Costa Rica, instead of a hotel. The condo is luxurious, with marble countertops, nice fixtures and lots of conveniences. You can make your own meals if you feel so inclined, or slip out to enjoy one of the restaurants in Playa Flamingo. It's fun to play in the surf at Playa Flamingo. The Lazy Lizard sunset cruise is not to be missed. Going to see the turtles lay eggs and the hatchlings run to the sea is amazing. And the sunset every night is not to be missed: at this condo, you have a front row centre view of it. Such great people, such great weather, such a great condo - enjoy!

We loved every minute of our week-long stay at this spacious, beautifully-appointed condo. It has all the comforts and conveniences you could possibly need - fully equipped kitchen, living and dining rooms large enough for entertaining, two full bathrooms, laundry, and of course, the balcony with the amazing view. Our driver (who carried our bags up to the condo) told us that he had dropped tourists off at a lot of different accommodations but had never seen anything as nice as this place! The view of sunset from the deck is a highlight of every day. The sound of waves breaking lulls you to sleep in the very comfortable bed each night. Highly recommended.

"a little piece of paradise" absolutely fantastic - condo was equipped with all the amenities and necessities upon arrival the view off the deck looking at the ocean was incredible especially when the sun set the location was great for access to groceries, restaurants and the marina should you wish to do the fishing trip which we did and it was a great day - one tuna and a dozen red snapper we would certainly recommend this place and would go back ourselves also the security was great - friendly people very helpful

We were so pleased when we walked into this condo. The accommodations and decor were so nice and it was very well equipped....down to beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler! Even the condo staff was very nice and helpful and made us feel welcomed. Loved being within walking distance to the beach and some very nice restaurants. What impressed us the most was the owner called the day we checked in to make sure everything was okay!

Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This condo has everything you need for a wonderful holiday. The beds are so comfortable; the condo is beautifully decorated; the kitchen is well equipped. Located on a sandy beach which is perfect for a morning walk followed by a relaxing swim. The view is spectacular. Great restaurants very near by. The service was the best. Daphne Nicholson went out of her way to ensure that we had all the information we needed.

Our family of 5 spent 4 wonderful, fun, awesome, incredible days at Daphne's condo. It was everything that was advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. She had Pam (lives near by) ready to help us when we arrived and she was a great help. We also were able to spend some time at the Playa Conchal? resort thanks to them as well. We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful condo for three weeks in May 2011 and can highly recommend it. The place is tastefully decorated, quiet and very well appointed for stay in dining and relaxation. The spacious balcony which overlooks the ocean is an amazing highlight, close enough to hear the waves breaking on the white sand beach. Security is engaging, effective and friendly. Local restaurants are plentiful, reasonable and close by. Having access to the Marina Hotel is a big plus. The hilly terraine makes having a car almost a necessity. Owner and local representative are wonderful.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Fabulous Flamingo

What an all-star getaway! This wonderful, welcoming and serene condo is just a dream come true. From the upscale, tasteful decor done in a soothing, seaside theme, to the extra touches that make it a truly first class holiday home, this property has it all. We loved sitting on the huge deck overlooking magnificent Flamingo beach, watching the fiery sunsets. We explored the sandy beach, sipped tall cool ones and ate fabulous meals, all within walking distance. Check out the fresh mango margaritas at Marie's, the sunset at Mar y Sol and the pizzas at Angelina's. Be sure to sail into the sunset on the Lazy Lizard, a swift catamaran, hosted by a funloving crew. We also stayed "home" and swam in the infinity pool, had meals in the gorgeous gourmet kitchen and watched movies on the flat screen TV, choosing from a great selection of DVDs. At the end of another sunlit day we slept soundly in comfy beds, luxuriously piled with pillows. We can't say enough about our memorable stay, this impeccable property is very special and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to make Costa Rican memories. Looking forward to returning someday very soon!

We are about to book our third visit in this condo, and each year we try to spend just a bit more time here. The condo is beautifully decorated and comes with everything you will need for a fabulous stay in Costa Rica. The balcony is such an asset . . . the view is wonderful at any time during the day, but at sunset, it is breath-taking! The location is perfect as you can walk to the beach as well as the plaza where you will find a pharmacy and two restaurants, car rental and tour organizers. There is a small grocery store just down the hill, but you can walk to a better-stocked store in about 20 min. We especially like Playa Flamingo as a destination – it’s beautiful, quiet and not overrun with tourists. Daily walks on the beach were a favorite activity and we constantly marveled at the fact that there were so few people there. The owners, Daphne and Jim, are wonderful – we have truly enjoyed renting from them. They and the manager have been very helpful and responsive, as have been all of the staff at Oceanica. We love this condo . . . and we will definitely come back!

Flamingo keeps getting better and better. We have been visiting Costa Rica for 20 years and have stayed in Flamingo every time we could, and this is the best place we have found so far. The location is unbeatable, right in front of the beach. The sunsets from the balcony are absolutely fabulous. The condo is gorgeous, very comfortable with all amenities you will need for a short or long stay. The owners and manager were extremely helpful and friendly, and all property staff were also very nice. We would recommend a car for guests with mobility issues, because of the hill. Otherwise, all the basics are in walking distance: restaurants, grocery, pharmacy, shops, tour organizers, etc. And of course the beach! If you have transportation you will have even more options, and an SUV is a definite plus if you plan to explore the area on your own. We brought along Tico friends from San José - also a plus if you like home-made gallo pinto! - and thanks to the sofa-bed all six of us had a very comfortable stay. The beach towels and laundry room were very appreciated. And all other amenities, of course. We had nice group walks on the beach and saw our fair share of falling stars - the starry sky during the dry season is delightful. We are definitely planning to be back. Pura Vida!

Great View

My husband stated that the best part of our vacation was sitting on the balcony of our condo and enjoying the view. The sunsets were awesome, but the scenery was great any time of the day. The beach at Playa Flamingo was very nice, with shade along the edge of the beach, making it perfect for both sun lovers, and those not wanting to sit in the sun. We took a sunset sailboat ride, which was arranged by the tour guide in the plaza at Flamingo, and it was wonderful. We recommend having a rental car, because it is so easy to drive in Costa Rica, and setting your own schedule without relying on a tour bus gives you more options. We enjoyed surfing in Tamarindo, and also visiting several of the national parks, which we drove to on our own, not needing a tour guide. The condo was very nice, modern, and beautifully decorated. Wifi in the condo made communication easy, as well as useful for getting directions and information on local attractions.

Perfect Honeymoon Destination - The Condo AND the Location!!

We were lucky enough to stay at this condo for one week in July 2010, and couldn't have had a better experience. We knew the condo was going to be very nice, but the moment we walked in the door we looked at each other in amazement at how beautiful, clean, and luxurious the place was. As beautiful as the condo was, it was the lanai that we loved the most. We spent countless hours sitting out there enjoying our cervesas and appetizers, while enjoying the limitless view of the ocean as well as nightly sunsets. We went to numerous beaches around Costa Rica, but Flamingo beach was by far our favorite. It was a very short walk from the condo, free from debris and sharp rocks, not too busy, and had some good waves for body surfing. If you were to rent a car, there would be many restaurants quite close. We didn't rent a car and therefore ate at the same few restaurants next to the condo (in La Plaza) and we were VERY satisfied with the food and the people we met. The dinners at Angelina's were our favorite meals on our whole trip, and Marie's had a delicious selection of food as well (especially for breakfast!) Also in La Plaza, there was an adventure tour company. We went on an ATV/zip-lining tour with them and had a lot of fun. It was not very expensive, and there was a HUGE selection of activities to choose from (no matter how reserved or adventurous you are). Once again, the people we met there could not have been nicer, and the guides played a large role in how much we enjoyed the tour. Finally, Daphne and Jim (the condo owners) were a pleasure to deal with, and were very helpful when we had any questions regarding the condo or even general tips about vacationing in Costa Rica, as this was our first time in the country. We would love to go back to this condo, and we think it would be the perfect place for a family vacation, a trip with friends, and we know it's an ideal spot for a honeymoon. We cannot thank Daphne and Jim enough for everything, and if you are looking to have a beautiful, relaxing, and fun Central American vacation, this is the place to rent, no question about it. Nine Days in Paradise

The whole 9 days were really great. We enjoyed every day we spent here in March '10 and returned in Jan '11. Things we liked most about this condo: 1. The view 2. The balconies – 3! Big one best. 3. The spacious layout 4. The facilities (laundry, appliances) 5. The air conditioning 6. The beds 7. Comfy sofa and loveseat 8. It was very quiet and private 9 Friendly staff 10 Safe and secure The beach is absolutely perfect. Pura Vida!

A fabulous vacation rental!

My family and I stayed at Daphne and Jim’s condo for a week in December and we found it to be extremely comfortable and wonderfully appointed. The condo overlooks the Pacific Ocean and we spent many a happy early evening sitting on the balcony watching the most amazing sunsets. It is ideally situated, just a short walk to the beach and several good restaurants and bars in the town of Flamingo. The unit is graciously furnished with the care of a homeowner, with touches that make a difference for guests such as thick towels, high quality bed linens and comfortable furniture. My family has traveled often together and this was one of our favorite accommodations- we look forward to returning. I would strongly recommend this rental for a fantastic holiday. And Daphne will provide the extra care that will make your visit a truly pleasurable experience. Pura Vida, Jackie and Gil

My family and I spent one week at the lovely condo which has a great view of the Flamingo Bay Beach. The furnishings are very comfortable and we felt it was very good value for the money. We wld recommend a car, although you can walk to the beach. There are a few restaurants in walking distance and a place where you can book tours. Would recommend taking some tours, i.e. the rain forest etc. We would certainly return to this condo and had a very good experience with Daphne and her Apartment Manager, who were very helpful, especially with the car hire. We found the Liberia airport very easy to get in and out of and we also found the Costa Rican people very friendly.

First Time in Costa Rica

My husband, son and I stayed for a week in this condo which has an amazing balcony view out towards Playa Flamingo and where we sat a lot listening to the waves braking on the beach below and the birds singing in the trees. The condo very comfortable and furnished beautifully and has all that you need. There are some good restaurants nearby by, "Angelina's" and "Marie's" we visited a few times. There is a tour shop below where you can arrange for tours to the rain forest, zip lining (highly recommended) and springs near Lake Arenal. My husband and son went deep sea fishing and caught a 60 lb. Mahi Mahi (which we ate some and the Captain took the rest) and a Sailfish, which was returned to the sea. We loved Costa Rica and hope to return on another vacation.

When we arrived we were speechless to have found such a beautiful condo. Everything about our experience was perfect: To start, the owners are very friendly and provided great information. The building is situated on top of a hill overlooking a beautiful bay where we were able to kayak, beachcomb, body surf and spend a lot of time tanning on a white sand beach. In the evenings we would cook costa rican meals in the kitchen (probably more amenities than my own kitchen) followed by watching the sunset on our private balcony and a walk down (1 min) to the playa flamingo center for the most delicious dessert I have ever had (not an exaggeration!). The condo had a great selection of dvd's for lazy nights, board games, ipod stereo, beach towels, even spanish to english test cards. Another, more domestic highlight, was the en suite laundry! Overall, we rated our stay as excellent because there is nothing I felt the condo was missing, it was a spotless, stunning 'home away from home' in a friendly & wonderfully warm (very thankful for the air con!) country. Thank you Jim & Daphne! With no hesitation, only a bit of a jealousy, we will be recommending your condo. I hope we can make it back! Steve & Lindsay
