The kitchen, living room, and master bedroom each have eight foot sliding glass doors opening onto the balcony. We love to sit there in the rockers and watch the people, dolphins, and ocean. The unit was completely redecorated in 2009. The walk-in tile shower has become the favorite; safer for grandmom and kids alike.
There are games, puzzles, VCR tapes, and books to share. The kitchen is fully equipped - blender, iced tea maker, toaster oven, gadgets, etc. The front closet seems to accumulate pool toys, so we leave them for the next guests. It is a short walk to grocery store, where you can also eat lunch and dinner. You can also walk to neighborhood restaurants. Linens are not provided at this time.
With the unit located on the second floor, the steps or the elevator are always an easy option. For lunch, happy hour, or potty breaks, we are so spoiled!
Just recently I became able to rent to well behaved pets AUGUST THROUGH MAY. No pets allowed during JUNE and JULY. Weekly rentals only May through August, Saturday to Saturday. Call for last minute availablity for weekends. Check-out 10 a.m., check-in 3 p.m.

My family and I (total of 5 adults and 2 small dogs) visited Shalimar 2A from May 14- May 21, 2011. OMG!!! We loved it and didn't want to leave! It is a beautifully decorated and well maintained condo and the beach is your backyard! It is in a very nice part of town, and is quite convenient to shopping. There is an IGA within walking distance, and it has everything from groceries to wine, to shirts. Very handy when my dad wanted a morning newspaper. One thing that is different from the southern end of Myrtle beach, was the sunrise. Down south, the sun hits you right in the face in the morning as you enjoy your coffee on the balcony. Up in Cherry Grove, the sun rises from the side, so you can sit on the balcony and not be blinded! My mom wanted to cook for dinner almost every night, and the well stocked kitchen made it very easy. One thing that I did remember to take for the balcony was a long, fold up dog fence. Our dogs were small enough to get through the bars of the balcony, so the dog fence kept them safe. The weather was a little cool, but hey...it's still the beach! I highly recommend this condo; for a vacation you'll never forget! We just got back from a wonderful time after spending the week at this Shalimar condo. The condo was a great size, clean, had a wonderful location close to a grocery store and just a few steps from the beach. The best part was the tiled balcony with the rocking chairs overlooking the beach, sunsets, sunrises and the beautiful moonlit nights. I highly recommend staying here especially if it's your intent to have a relaxing time at one of the nicest beaches on the east coast.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We enjoyed our week stay at the condo. We are a family of 6 and there was plenty of room for us. The beach doesn't get over crowded in this area making it great for families. The pool appears small, but it was never crowded and the kids really enjoyed it and it is well maintained. There is no picture of the balcony, but it is big with a table and extra chairs and has a beautiful oceanfront view! We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Cherry Grove and would visit this condo again!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.
