  What a lovely setting and accomodations! It was a perfect place for our family of 3. The casita is wonderfully furnished and spotlessly clean. The added touches of fresh flowers, plants, fruit, snacks, and chilled bottles of water make it a perfect home away from home. We awoke in the mornings to deer and their fawns playing and grazing outside the casita. All types of birds and even a gorgeous peacock were wonderful to watch. We would highly recommend La Casita Verde to travellers in theSan Marcos area. Pam is a delightful, helpful, and accessible owner. We hope to return someday!

  We recently stayed in this cabin while visiting our daughter at Texas State. In the past we have stayed in hotels but decided it might be nice to have a kitchen. The cabin is small but comfortable, and it's very clean. We grilled the first night and especially liked sitting outdoors while we ate and shared stories. The owner was very nice and was helpful about suggestions on things to do in the area. It only has a Murphy bed and a fold out couch, which weren't super comfortable, but I really liked having a kitchen and outdoor seating area. We will definitely stay here again.

  The description and photos may even have undersold this wonderful cabin. Coming from England, we knew little about the local area and our queries before arrival were promptly answered by Pam who was helpful both on the phone and by e-mail. Pam and Danny were excellent hosts who made us very welcome. They were friendly and informative about local events. The cabin was clean and well equipped, and had both a full size cooker and a good wireless connection. The wildlife seen in the garden included deer, hummingbirds, woodpeckers and a roadrunner. A very peacefull stay which was also close to the amenities of San Marcos and its surrounding attractions. Of note was kayaking on the river and wandering through some of the local natural areas.

  We traveled to San Marcos with our 9 month old son and we were looking for a place that would give more privacy than a hotel. This cabin was perfect for our family of 3. The photos and description are accurate. It has been recently remodeled and had all the comforts of home. The owners are very kind and allow you to enjoy your privacy as well. The hammock and patio area was perfect to enjoy the wonderful spring weather. We will be staying there again if our travels bring us back to San Marcos.

  The casita was just as we'd imagined it would be: clean, comfortable, cozy and quiet. It was nice to be so close to the bigger cities we wanted to visit, yet have a quiet place to dine, relax and sleep. What a delight to wake up to birds singing! We saw hummingbirds, mocking birds, cardinals, and even the resident roadrunner. The Root Cellar Restaurant in downtown San Marcos is not to be missed. Do visit the surrounding hill country and smaller towns in the area. Also, the Botanical gardens in San Antonio, the Wildflower Farm in Fredericksburg, and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Gardens in Austin were a delightful sight for winter weary eyes! Oh, did I mention the hiking trails right there in San Marcos? Be sure to spend at least a full day hiking the local trails. The hostess can direct to to good access points. Thanks again for a lovely visit!

  It was a beautiful little cabin. Even though we had a few little glitches Pam and her husband were doing their best to resolve uncontrollable circumstances. It was so enjoyable to be able to look out and see the squirrel, birds and deer every morning and evening. Thanks for allowing use to enjoy your place

  What a great place to stay!!! The house was gorgeous and clean, the landscape was amazing, it was quite and peaceful. Much better than the description. I could hear the train(s) far off. I'm looking forward to staying there again and again. I was able to spend quality time with my daughter who attends TSU. Pam was so nice and helpful, she made me feel very welcome. I was only able to go the outlet malls and the flea market in Kyle, that was great. I would definitely recommend this vaction rental.

  My husband and I stayed at the casita for the fourth or fifth time. This is our favorite place to get away and we're always ready for the next time we get to come back! Pam and Danny are the best hosts :)

  Our entire visit, my husband and I kept repeating, "This is so much better than a hotel." We enjoyed wine on the veranda, a comfortable Murphy bed and the pull out couch was great for our 2 year old. Pam, the owner, was available by text or phone and readily available with questions, yet gave us plenty of privacy. We are going to make this stay a yearly get-away. We cant wait to stay here again.

  This was the perfect getaway from the city. It was peaceful and comfortable. Pam was amazing! She was very familiar with the hill country wineries and attractions. I will never stay in a hotel again! Bed was super cozy. You had everything you needed. Home away from home.
