Hola Amigos!

Bienvenidos a Isla de Mujeres...this is a very cool, tropical, Caribbean island just a short distance off of Cancun....our favorite place in the whole world...a very Mexican place that leads the world in smiles per capita...

We want to invite you to come and stay at Casa Roca Caribe...

We think you will love Casa Roca Caribe!

We are located on a very quiet street in Colonia Metereologica.

Master bedroom faces the Caribbean Sea and has a large king sized bed - very cozy and very comfortable - you'll be able to see the sun rise from bed each morning...how cool is that? (Ceiling fan included...no charge!)

Guest room can be set as you wish with any combination of 1 large king sized bed and up to 3 additional single beds. (yet another ceiling fan included...no charge!)

Of course, your Caribbean retreat would not be complete without hanging in a hammock that is provided for your comfort. Enjoy a siesta, the sunrise or warm night with a cool breeze in the back deck.

Unlimited purified drinking water.

Cable TV with DVD player is provided.

CD player is provided along with a bunch of our favorite CD's...bring you own or listen to ours...we have a large collection of relaxation music that seems appropriate for your retreat.

We know of a great masseuse that will come to the house and provide you with one of the most amazing massages you will ever enjoy...this is a huge favorite of Jimbo...and we guarantee you will find it heavenly.

Located on a quiet street in Colonia Meteriologica, within a block (yep - ONE block) you will find: the fabulous Mango Café and Blue Iguana deli, La Manolita taco stand, Ronco grocery store with beer, wine, liquor.

½ block from a small local Catholic church (the “open air church” or “la capilla”). Mass on Sunday at 8:00 am.

Washer and dryer on site...so if you are gonna be here a while, you gotta admit, that's kinda nice.

Take a few minutes to look at the site and we hope you decide to stay...and we hope you come back often...

we hope to see you soon in paradise...

Disfruta la vida!

I can't say enough good things about Casa Roca Caribe and Jimbo and Karen (the owners). They are across the street so if you need ANYTHING they are available to help you out. This year we were a group consisting of 3 couples and 1 surprise friend that stayed for a few days. The house has 2 bedrooms downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs that are quite spacious. There is 1 bath down and 2 baths upstairs as well as a pool on the lower level and a jacuzzi on the upper level. The view is amazing, the location is quiet, and the breeze is heavenly. You'll never want to leave!! This is the perfect 'home away from home' and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to stay on la Isla, even if it's your first time there!

Watching the sunrise, cloud, boats, or just "being" in the pool on the deck is amazing. It is quiet and you have all the privacy in the world but are only a short walking distance to amazing restaurants. The bed is great especially considering most beds in Mexico are especially hard. We did not need the AC although it was available. TV but who the heck turns that on in Mexico! You can see all that crap when you get home. Jimbo can fix you up with a golf cart or snorkeling tour or whatever will make your vacation perfect! We WILL stay there again!

In July 2011, we stayed at a little casa in Colonia La Gloria. We enjoyed it there, but one afternoon, having strolled down to Casa Roca Caribe to check out the accommodations for a future trip, we were completely WOWed by what we found there, and actually sorry that we hadn't chosen it for our inaugural Isla trip. We went home and immediately booked, and have now just returned from two glorious weeks (June 2012) at Jimbo & Karen's place. We could not have been more pleased with the house, which has absolutely all of the comforts of home. But unlike home, the view - oh! the view! - We rented the lower pool level and can't even begin to describe how wonderful it was to gaze out at the Caribbean countless times each day, and to just listen to the waves rush in. It was heavenly! The house is clean and spacious, beds are very comfy, bathroom is large and unlike a lot of Mexican rentals, water pressure in the shower was perfect. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer on premises. The pool was sparkling and refreshing, and Jimbo made sure that it was tended perfectly. He also routinely checked to make sure that we had fresh beach and bath towels, which was really nice. Lidia, the maid, did a beautiful job cleaning after our first week (please do tip her!), and we appreciated Jimbo arranging for her to come in. It's swelteringly hot on Isla during the summer months, but even though the house has A/C, we rarely needed to use it as the cross-breeze coming off the ocean cools the house nicely. The location itself is ideal, tucked away down a short residential street so that you're not in the thick of things, but still very much a part of a real Mexican neighborhood. We went to the beach most days, and found it very easy to catch taxis by walking a short way down the hill. Also really enjoyed having a convenience store a short stroll away. Back at the house, we loved the rooster crowing next door and the sights and sounds of people going about their daily lives up and down the lane. Mango Cafe, just about a 30-second stroll away, is one of the BEST restaurants on Isla, and we ate there several times. Also enjoyed Monchi's, which is about a 35-second walk away! Jimbo and Karen have truly thought of everything, but moreso, they are the consummate hosts and truly made us feel that their home was OUR home. They were attentive and responsive without being intrusive - I believe this is a fine art that they have mastered! We could not have asked for a more enjoyable tw

As part of a group of three families on vacation with our kids, we stayed at Casa Roca Caribe for a week and MAN-oh-MAN what a great week we had! Jimbo is there to help you with ANYTHING - and listed to his recommendations! We tried almost every eatery he suggested and we LOVED them, and a few we went back to two times!! The house is very clean and the kids really liked the pool on the lower level - at night the adults enjoyed soaking in the hot tub upstairs after the kiddos were tucked in. There is everything there that you need and you can't beat having free wifi and phone to use! You're just far enough out of town so you can enjoy the local life that the island has to offer, yet a cab ride to Centro is only a few minutes and a few pesos. I absolutely recommend asking Jimbo to hook you up with Lorenzo for the day and take your group out on a snorkeling advanture that you'll never forget - he was the highlight of the trip for the kids AND the adults!! If you keep an open mind and a laid back attitude you'll find your stay at Casa Roca Caribe to be the best vacation you'll have ever experienced! True story!!! :o)

There is NOTHING like sleeping with the breezes coming in from the ocean, and the sound of the waves crashing in on the rocks all night!   We just loved Casa Roca from the moment we walked in the door!   Also enjoyed the crowing of the rooster that lives next door.  Wonderful house. Spectacular views of the ocean. The pool and hammock on the first floor deck are great, the hot tub jaqcuzzi on the second level deck is great; both with the wind and the view and the sound of the crashing surf.  The area is populated with locals and is very calming and relaxing. You really get a "local" feel for this wonderful island, one that is different than the other areas; one we think is not to be missed.  And being that close to the ocean on the more natural and rugged eastern side of the island is a must in our opinion.  Also, it's a one minute walk to the mango Cafe, our absolute favorite place to eat all 3 meals on the island! We took Jimbo's tour in his pickup truck right when we arrived and it was the smartest thing we did; gave us a great feel for the entire island and where we wanted to go.   It's in a perfect location on the island, sort of right in he middle.  So you can get away from the throngs of people and the noise of the more touristy end of the island, but close enough to easily visit all parts of the island with a golf cart or by cab.  The golf cart we rented for the week is perfect and strongly recommended.   My wife and I also had massages by a woman who comes to the house.  What a way to get a massage, on the deck in the warmth from the sun and with those lovely breezes off the ocean and the relaxing surf sounds.  We highly recommend this. We visited some fancy hotels near the big beaches with their sterile, modern rooms that felt like you were in Las Vegas or New York -- not our cup of tea. Cafe Roca Caribe is all it's advertised to be and more! Tom and Nora in Minneapolis, MN

We had a wonderful time at the Casa Roca Caribe. Jimbo and Karen described their place perfectly and they were super easy to work with. They even helped me get a few necessary baby items from a local rental company that worked flawlessly. We did rent a golf cart the entire time we were there as the walk to Playa Norte was a little far lugging all baby things needed. Overall we had a wonderful stay and will be back to the island as soon as we can.

What a great place to kick back and enjoy the charm of Isla Mujeres. Casa Roca Caribe is located right on the ocean with breath taking views of the ocean crashing against the incredible rock formations. The private beach is great for hunting shells as long as you like a little adventure in climbing the rocks which we loved. Your host Jimbo is delightful and makes sure you have everything you need. He gives a great tour of the island and helps you make the most of your vacation time. Thanks to Jimbo we felt safe and cared for during our stay. Leo, Jimbo's dog captured our hearts and gave us our doggie fix for the 10 days we were there. It was so hard to leave. The island and Casa Roca Caribe is such a special place, we can't say enough great things about it. The villa has all the comforts of home with a Mexican ambience that gives you just the right vibe for vacation. This place is truly a value and we can't wait to come back home to Casa Roca Caribe next year.

Five days at Casa Roca Caribe made us only want more--more of the spectacular ocean beneath our deck, the private solar-heated pool, the accessible neighborhood eateries (a variety and all excellent), daily life, and central location to Punta Sur as well as Playa Norte and the centro. And certainly more of Jimbo's hospitality and helpfulness, which made the difference in this trip. The excellent Mango Cafe is around the corner, and even the excellent Zama Beach club and the Turtle Farm are short cab rides away. The listing and photos and Jim's attentive emails all were accurate; if anything the photos don't do the property full credit. We stayed downstairs, another couple were upstairs so the house can function as two comfortable rentals. Great master bedroom with ocean view--sunrises are particularly recommended! Watch the stars come out nightly on the private deck and sleep fitfully in the excellent master bedroom bed to the ocean's roar. We liked this because we could partake easily of the hustle and bustle of the Playa Norte culture while feeling like we were living in the rhythm of Islas people locally. Thank you Jimbo.

Why the Owner Chose Isla Mujeres:
While dealing with a recent plateful of Fibromyalgic pain, I couldn't help but notice the difference in my life on Isla Mujeres and it's effectiveness in dealing with the misunderstood family of syndromes that have plagued me for decades that including Chronic Fatigue and Restless Leg. There are many that wonder why I spend time on the island… away from my family and friends and have begun to build a life here…on the surface there are many that might view my choice to be here as selfish, self-indulgent and an unnecessary luxury…I urge you to look deeper. Although my need for the approval of others diminishes the older I get, I submit the following as a way for others to understand the purpose in a different light. The fact is that in many ways, la isla has been and continues to be a salvation from the joint stiffness, debilitating fatigue and sleep problems associated with life in a Colorado climate when compared to the warmer, tropical climate I find myself in now. Just as my wife Karen continues to have a profound effect on me and my ability to cope thru her gentle touch and loving smile, la isla's tranquil feel and healing characteristics have had a significant impact on the quality of my life. In a similar way, our discovery of the island has resurrected my life in spirit and in functionality. As I look at my life over this Thanksgiving weekend, I cannot help but feel thankful for the greatest gifts provided to me by God: my loving parents… my beautiful children… my wife who is truly the love of my life… and the gift of Isla Mujeres. Disfruta la vida. Jimbo

The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
the rhythm of the neighborhood...…is amazing and beautiful to me…it is amazing to wake up to the sunrise, sometimes softly, sometimes with a slap in the face as it wakes us...the roosters (plural) and the turkey next door don't bother me at all..they make me smile every time i hear them...even if it is 4:00 in the morning...signals the start of another lucky day here on la isla...(i love it when i am driving down the road and a chicken crosses in front of me...makes me chuckle inside...and sometimes out loud...) vendors begin their parade up and then down the street selling pastries, cocos, tortillas, fruits usually a bit too early for my tastes around 7:00 or so…and lasts into the evening... in just one or two blocks, i see so many people that i know and that i work with or buy from and we have all become neighbors and friends, where everyone helps each other with breakfast, car problems, FM3 questions, groceries, lost keys... in a quick ten minutes I see and waive hello to Ramiro, Ron, Oscar, Luis, Polo, Lori, Zowie, Antonio, Carolyn, Ricardo and a couple of kids on the street… i make it back to the house to enjoy the delicious cinnamon roll and enjoy the rhythm of the waves in the water…they are relentless and relaxing, powerful and soothing… as Sunday evening rolls around, you can hear the music in the street begin to wind down…this is such a quiet neighborhood and a quiet street…by 9:00, all is quiet…and will stay that way until the sun rises and we start the rhythm of the neighborhood all over again… while some folks watch tv in the evenings, we like to just sit out on the front deck and watch folks come and go on the street...it all sounds so simple...and it is...and that is just how i like it... disfruta la vida… Jimbo
