Enjoy views of Nantucket Sound and 3 minute walks to the beach from this newly-renovated Cape Cod gem. Our house sits across from quiet conservation and wildlife wetlands complete with sandy nature trails to Cockle Cove, bird watching, and the historic site of the Marconi tower. No need to drive to the beach.
As new owners, we have proudly completed extensive renovations on our home. You'll be some of the first renters to enjoy new stainless steel appliances, newly purchased decor, furnishings, and furniture that is all tastefully done in a charming 'potterybarn-esque' style. The master bedroom has a queen bed and crib for a child with an attached, full bathroom and closet space galore. The second bedroom has two full-sized beds (big enough for a couple on each) and the third bedroom has a queen-sized bed.
The white sand of Forest beach meets the warm waters of Nantucket Sound which boasts some of the clearest, warmest, sandiest waters on the Cape. Its warm, quiet water make it perfect for young children learning to swim while older kids and adults enjoy sailing, windsurfing, and snorkeling. The sunsets are amazing, the beach never gets too busy since there are only 20 parking spaces (unlike hundreds at other beaches in the area) and there's a 1-mile walking trail along the conservation area of the beach where you'll see Osprey parents feeding their babies.
Catch glimpses of passing sailboats on the ocean as you enjoy sunset barbecues, lobsters, and cocktails with family and friends on the front patio. Or head into the quaint seaside village for world-class dining and shopping on Main Street, a summer band concert, or a Chatham Angler's baseball game. Don't miss the Chatham Band on Friday nights...bring the blankets and get there early, it's a MUST see!

Thank you to Matt and Felicia for renting us their beach house. The house is in a perfect location - 5 minute walk to Forest Beach. Not only is the beach close but downtown Chatham is a short drive. We really enjoyed being able to get up and head off to the beach without packing the car. My 16 month old needed naps during the day and I was able to hang back at the house while everyone stayed at the beach. Being so close to the beach made this possible. The photos are an accurate reflection of the house. When we arrived it was very clean and ready for us to "move" in. Our favorite thing about the house is the outdoor shower. I don't think any of us used the showers in the house the entire week we were on the Cape. Thank you again for a great visit!!! We would recommend a stay to friends and family.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Easy walk to beach, easy walk to coffee shop. Small grocery store just a few streets down. Beautiful, quiet and safe area. Downtown shops of chatham just a 5 min drive away. We enjoyed the walking trails through the conservation land across the street and the tennis courts just one street back. Perfect setting for a family vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

Beautiful, clean home with updates and nice decor (much better than the dark wood paneling and outdated decor typical of beach houses)Our kids loved it here. Quick easy 2 min walk to the beach, which is safe for kids (the nantucket sound water here is much warmer and safer than the atlantic side of chatham). forest beach is great because it doesn't get the crowds that the other beaches do, but is still a beautiful beach, with incredible sunsets, and great walking trails for about a mile downDid you find this review helpful? We took a family vacation to Cape Cod and this house was the perfect setting for all ages. It's comfortable, spacious, close to the beach (easy walk and the beach was not overcrowded), quiet/peaceful yet still close enough to town to be convenient, close to a grocery store, not over-crowded or chaotic like being right in downtown Chatham. Also, there was lots of space for the kids and the updates and renovations are very nice. We had a great time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

About the owner: My husband and I grew up in the mountains of Montana and Vermont, but we both LOVE the ocean. Our lifelong dream has been to buy a summer beach home for our family in Chatham. Finally we found and purchased the perfect home for us in 2009 and spent months of hard work and renovations to turn this into our dream home. So far we have had many warm and magical memories with friends and family here in Chatham and at Forest Beach and we hope you will enjoy our home and everything Chatham has to offer. We are close to everything but far enough away that you can really soak up the peace and quiet. Walk across the street to the conservation land first thing in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee on the secluded bench...you'll know exactly what we're talking about :)
