This home absolutely made our Lake Jackson vacation perfect! The rental process was so seamless thanks to our gracious hosts! Upon arrival, we were so in awe of the beauty, spaciousness, and cleanliness of the home. It was stocked with every ammenity imaginable, from plush towels and blankets to fishing poles! No detail was spared! The use of the pontoon boat was key in order to see the lake and surrounding area, and the home itself is situated in a great location for relaxing, fishing, and enjoying watersports. We had such an amazing experience at this lovely home! Perfectly appointed and well-stocked, this home makes for a dream vacation in itself!Did you find this review helpful? Richard and Dottie are awesome people to rent from! This was our 4th year in a row at Lake Jackson renting one of their two lakefront properties. We do a management retreat every year for some team building and bonding and the house leaves nothing to be desired. It is beautifully furnished, well stocked with amenities, and the included pontoon boat is the icing on the cake! Richard always makes an appearance to welcome us and provides some great advice on good fishing spots and things to do in the area. We could not be happier with the house, our time on the lake, or our experience with Richard and Dottie. We are repeat renters for a reason - a great house, helpful owners, beautiful views, all at a fair price. Our family is trying to plan a weekend trip in the next few weeks and we are already planning our 2014 management retreat! Thank you Richard and Dottie for the memories.......Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I can't say enough about our recent stay at this Lake Jackson home. From the moment we made contact with the owners, everything was pleasant and easy. The home was spotless when we arrived. Filled with extras that you do not expect when renting a home for the week. There was firewood for the fireplace, dish soap, trash bags, hand soaps, and other items that the owners are not obligated to provide but do so. High quality linens, towels, tastefully decorated rooms. But that just sums up the whole experience, more than what you expect. A beautiful lake house with great views, free use of a pontoon boat, fishing poles, and so many other things. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend this home to others. Thank you Richard and Dottie for all the extras you do to make the stay so welcoming and enjoyable! We really appreciated it and hope to be back on one of our next vacations.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The overall experience was fun but the house needed a little T.L.C. I'll start with the negative and end with the possitive. The bed comforters were dirty and some of the sheets had makeup stains, The kitchen applliances ,cabinets and drawers needed to be emptied out and thoughouly cleaned. The floors in the bathrooms and halls needed vacumed. The chimney is probably full of leaves because when we tried to light a fire the entire house was filled with smoke. The flew was open. The house had wood floors throughout including the stairs so you could hear every move everyone made from every room in the house. It states it sleeps 10 but there are really only 3 bedrooms. One master with its own bath . Two bedrooms upstairs one with a king that shares a bath with a room with 2 queens. The other beds are over a garage with no access to a bathroom and the beds are uncomfortable futons. The 3rd couple that was staying with us actually left early because of the accomadations. Having to go down a flight of creeky stairs in the middle of the night to use a bathroom was kind of a drag. The basement had a great bathroom but no bedroom. If you wanted a hot shower that was where you were going to get it. We actually checked out a day early because we had to go to a wedding and my family of four was tired of cold showers. Now the possitive. The owners came over with new bed linens, brand new comforters and refunded us $300.00 for the cleaning fee. They put lights outside that had burned out during the winter. The hot tub was kept emaculate, the pontoon boat was a lot of fun and over all a good time. So here would be my owners honey-do-list.. Hire a new cleaning service., clean out the chimney, fix the hand rails on the porch, detail the kitchen, soundproof a bit, fix the creeky stairs, fix the shower head in the master suite, check into some hotwater tanks so everyone can have a shower, make a bedroom in the basement where there is the only bathroom with a hot shower and get rid of the uncomfortable futons in the room over the garage . The owners were very responsive and were greatful to be told about the issues. I am sure the next families to stay there will find everything in perfect order. .Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: You are so right! ! Our next guests WILL find everything in perfect order, just like our previous guests, many of whom gave us fabulous reviews ! ! This is such a great property. Dottie and Richard

We had a great time staying at the house over President's Day Weekend. The house is packed with tons of fun amenities, such as ping pong, a nice grill on the deck, a pontoon boat with a dock, a deckside hot tub, a covered patio facing the lake, a very nice pool table, 2 indoor fireplaces, and a brand new kitchen. We were also nicely surprised by the quality of the furniture and the new condition of the house. It didn't feel like a rental at all. We will definitely be back in the future!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This house provided a setting for fun and relaxation. The house is spacious with comfortable furniture and plenty to do, from the game tables, to large flat screen TVs, DVDs/books, to jacuzzi, to our favorite -- the pontoon boat! The owners clearly care about the home and tenants by providing a clean house full of amenities. Traveling with dog and child, it was nice not to have to pack linens, cleaning supplies, paper goods, etc. as they were all provided and nice quality. Fishing was good by the house and out on the lake (we mostly caught bass). We enjoyed cruising in the boat over to the breakfast buffet at Lakeside Restaurant and checking out the goats on goat island. The lake was beautiful and we caught the end of great fall colors (we lucked up with gorgeous warm fall weather). The owners were very helpful at check-in and gave us fishing tips and area tips. We chose the area so we could take our 4 year old to his first Georgia game (go dawgs!) and it was an easy hour drive to Athens. There were plenty other little extras (iPod dock, fishing gear, soap/shampoo, etc.) too. Note to guests who must work while on vacation: cell phones didn't work unless using the wireless internet, and sometimes the wireless was pretty slow. Nothing to complain about -- especially with all the great features the home offered, just something to note (unfortunately we had to work some or we wouldn't have cared a bit). Our only regret is we couldn't stay a whole week (or more)!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

We only stayed a long weekend (Fri-Mon) but in that short time we were able to settle in and had everything we needed to enjoy every minute. We went out on the pontoon boat and explored the lake, played pool, ping pong, enjoyed the hot tub and roasted marshmellows. The trees were changing and were beautiful. The house decor was as depicted, beautiful and tasteful. It was very roomy and the early risers in our group were able to make their way to the bottom level to "hang out" until everyone was ready to get going for the day. They layout of the home was very convenient. The home was also very clean. There were five of us including three adults and 2 12 year old girls but there was plenty of room and we could have brought more family. It was easy to see that this would be a great place for a holiday rental. While in the area we went to Stone Mountain Park and enjoyed the first week of their Christmas program. It was about an hour drive and was better than we even expected. We also went to Zoo Atlanta to check out the Giant Pandas, since they aren't found in many US zoos. We also stopped by Turner Field, home of the Braves. Dottie and Richard were great. They made sure we knew they were available and had everything we needed. Richard even went over how to safely use the boat for us novices. They had a couple of guest books in the home where we were able to read up on tips for food and activities in the area and past guests had added menus and brouchures to the notebook as well. This was entertaining and helpful! Thank you for putting all of the details into this home to allow for such a wonderful stay!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

What a wonderful vacation home!! Ten family members ranging in age from 21 to 78 converged on this perfect location for 5 days..Richard was there when my parents arrived and carried their luggage in and showed them around. How kind of him. The pontoon boat was absolutely awesome. We boated, skied, tubed and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful lake.. It was so peaceful to go out in the morning and enjoy the view and the still waters. When not in the boat, we watched the lake activity from the upper deck.. We also spent a lot of time on the dock soaking up the sun. The weather was wonderful. Trying to get into the boat and water with the lake level down was sometimes a challenge, but also amusing with a few little minor mishaps..Easy for me to say, as I did not fall into the boat like my sister!! Or fall out of the inflatable chair as my brother did with beverage in hand!! My sons drove to the Aquarium in Atlanta and were very impressed. The outlet mall was great. We were looking forward to going to the Blind Pig Barbeque, but it was closed or Shut as the sign stated.. Although we ate most meals in, we did enjoy a wonderful meal at The French Market in Locust Grove. Several of us went to the farmers market in Monticello and bought some great produce. As stated in previous reviews the house was awesome and immaculate. We had everything we needed. We had a belated birthday celebration for our mother and we also were able to all celebrate Father's Day together.. So many fond memories created. As we sat there the first night with 3 generations playing bingo (of all things) and laughing I recall thinking "This is what it is all about".. Thank you to Dottie and Richard for the opportunity to just kick back and spend time with our loved ones in a beautiful location!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
