Pelican's Nest on the Gulf of Mexico

Our two bedroom townhome is located in Sugar Beach, one of the nicest and best kept properties in Navarre Beach. With parking directly in front of the unit, it is just 99 steps to the Sugar white sands and warm azure blue/green waters of the Gulf of Mexico, or just a few steps to the pool entrance with covered lanai, where you can relax, read, or just chill out with a home made margarita. The back patio sports a gas bbq grill, and and umbrella covered table shaded by banana trees. Inside, the well decorated unit has TV's both upstairs and down, and separate dining and living room, with the kitchen and a pass-through bar. Two upstairs tile showered bathrooms, give both bedrooms their own privacy with plenty of linens and towels. Considered one of the top units in Sugar Beach, with local owners that are responsive to correct any problem, it's a great place to stay.

My friend and I took a Spring Break trip to Navarre Beach and stayed in this townhouse. It was beyond wonderful. If you are looking for a quiet, serene, friendly place to stay, this will be a perfect match. The beach is just a few steps away and the convenience of being able to pull right up to the townhouse door to unload and when returning after an evening out is great. The beach is the most beautiful I have seen with sand that is like powdered sugar and waters that are the most beautiful blues, aquamarines you can imagine. Clay and Helen were both fantastic to work with for booking and during our stay. The townhouse is stocked with everything you will need and adorable furnishings and decorations make you feel at home and definitely at the beach. Loved everything about it and the beautiful area. Recommnend Crabs restuarant at Pensecola Beach, Fisherman's Wharf restuarant in Destin, and Navarre Rib Shack and Shrimp basket locally. Great vacation and great place to stay. We will be back next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

With such a great price, I wasn't sure what to expect, since you can't always tell by the posted pictures. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The pictures don't give this adorable townhouse justice - it is much nicer than the pictures show. The location not far from the bridge makes it convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. The beach is right there, too. It is private but still close to everything Navarre has to offer. The townhouse itself has everything you could need or want and then some. It is well decorated with a beach theme throughout, a well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, blankets, games - you name it, they thought of it. It was very clean yet inviting and cozy. As for the rental process, it couldn't have been easier. If I had needed anything, which I didn't, since they thought of everything already, it was just a phone call away. Communication was very good. There was a great wifi signal, for those who need it. A list of local restaurants as well as menus were there. The pool was very clean, although we didn't have a chance to use it. There was even a car wash area. Everything was clean and well maintained. Clay was so friendly and ready to help however he could. We hated to leave and can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The Sugar Beach Condominiums E-22 condo we stayed at during the first week of October exceeded our expectations! It was an extremely nice unit and the owner had every conceivable base covered - a superabundance of towels, a clothes washer & dryer with Gain detergent, a dishwasher with Tide packets, an expensive gas grill to cook on, and a number of other conveniences. The unit was in impeccable condition and the way it was furnished made you feel that you were both at home and at the beach. The paint colors and the pictures hanging on the walls definitely put you in a vacation mood and made you feel excited to be at the beach. Navarre Beach is a gorgeous place to vacation and one of the last frontiers of the Gulf Coast. It is a very safe place to vacation - especially for couples and families. It is one of the least commercialized towns on the Panhandle and there are plenty of places to walk and bike - including a spectacular 15+ mile stretch in the state park to the Pensacola bridge with the bay on one side and the ocean on the other. Both the owner and the manager of the property were a delight to work with. I can't say enough good things about them and our experience. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone. Loved this vacation at this Sugar Beach townhouse. The owners were so nice and accomodating as was the property manager, Clay. The townhouse is very clean and has all of the conveniences of home. I loved having a washer and dryer in the unit for wet beach towels. The decorations were so cute in the townhouse. I love the Florida decor in each room. The beach wasn't the least bit crowded and was just yards away. The pool was well kept. I can't wait to go back to this exact unit! Definitely walk out onto the pier. It is very interesting to see all the sea life from above and to watch the fishing.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We have stayed at Sugar Beach for years in condo C 10 and switched to E 22 this year for booking purposes. We loved the condo. Beautifully furnished, all the kitchen supplies we needed to cook meals, super close to the beach walkway. The owners made our stay very comfortable and their cleaning serviceman, Clay, was so kind. Truly loved the code access to the condo as we never had to worry about losing keys! Our family highly recommends this condo for rental!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This townhome is awesome! If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, and uncrowded Florida getaway, this is it! The shelling was phenomenal! We found so many in the shallow waters of the Gulf. This was a fabulous place to stay. It had everything we needed. It was a hop, skip and jump to the beach. The master closet was stocked with board games, which me and the family played every night for hours and laughed harder than we have ever laughed. The owners were extra organized and we had no problems with the house. If you are looking for a nice family oriented place close to the beach away from all the tourism, this is your place. We will be back next spring.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful time. We travel to the Gulf Coast beaches frequently. The condo was great! Owner was incredibly accomodating, and we found everything we needed at the condo. Very short walk to the beach from the condo. Not crowded at all, (no college party scene), but everything you need is a short drive away. Very pleasant experience, and we will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

This is a wonderful unit in the Sugar Beach complex that we just spent a relaxing week enjoying. It is very clean and well maintained. Quick walk to the beach. Right across from the pool where there was a nice little one man concert on Saturday night. Dick (owner) is very helpful and will address any needs very quickly if they arise. Previously, we have been somewhat reluctant to rent through VRBO, but the descriptions and photos were accurate and the communication with Dick via e-mail was easy. I highly recommend this unit and we have already made plans to return next March.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1980
About the owner: Moving to Pensacola courtesy of the Navy, my family and I quickly fell in love with the areas. A fisherman and boat person, with both my kids master divers, we found the area and it's many convenient boat ramps, and waterways a real week-end pleaser. When Sugar Beach was being built, we quickly purchased a unit that was closest to the walk-over to the beach (the first side building), and when the Board of Director's put in the heated pool directly in front or our unit, E22 became our second home. Finally retiring from the Navy, we moved closer to Navarre, taking up residence in nearby Gulf Breeze, and have rented the unit since then. Although our kids are grown and married (my daughter and her family live in Navarre, and my son's stationed in Tampa with his gang), we still love to spend time on the beach at Navarre watching the dolphins and taking a dip or two in the warm waters of the Gulf.
Why the Owner Chose Sugar Beach:
Buying in Navarre Beach was an easy decision. Although we did not intend to rent it originally, the closeness to the unspoiled beaches of Navarre made buying a no brainer.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
Our favorite time is a swim in the Gulf, a dip in the pool, and a bbq on the back porch. I sometimes tow a boat (there is a boat ramp just down the road) and we will spend the day cruising and fishing the inland waterway.
