  Our stay in the beautiful hacienda was wonderful. The house was very clean, spacious and comfortable for the 6 of us. We enjoyed the gorgeous garden. We were very pleased with the service and daily breakfast. The Spanish-speaking housekeeper was always very helpful but not invasive of our privacy. The house is definitely a place to get away from it all. It's far from downtown Quito. Transportation can be problem but the owner was very attentive to our needs. We arranged different tours everyday with the owner. This worked out well for us because driving in Quito can be very difficult and confusing. Large vans were used which were roomy enough for 6+ people. It's always fun to see places and do things that the locals enjoy too! We were taken to some excellent local restaurants and occasionally cooked at the house. The overall experience was great. We had a wonderful time and plan to return to the hacienda someday!

  We stayed at the property for 2 weeks. It was perfect. We rented both houses. In total we were 5 adults and 3 kids. The amenities are wonderful. The staff was attentive and catered to our every whim. The kids loved the pool and the children's playground. There are beautiful grounds and a stream. The kids also picked fresh lemons, oranges and berries on a daily basis. Every night our caretaker would make a roaring fire in the living room. Rooms were comfy, and the kitchen was fully stocked. The owner was great about tips and recommendations. We rented cars and were able to take advantage of the fact that the house is 5 minutes from the main area of El Valle. A huge mall is minutes away with a cineplex and fantastic restaurants (Cafe de la Vaca, Crepes y Waffles, etc). Our daughters went horseback riding daily 10 minutes away (Equitacion Bomboli). It was one of the best family vacations and having this wonderful as home base made it so.

  There were 5 of us - work-friends. We rented the large as well as small house. The property is beautifully maintained, both inside and the landscaping. We each had our own room, and we would get up in the morning, have breakfast and leave for a new destination, then come back in the evening for a restful night's sleep. The living room has a huge fire place, and the caretaker, who was special - kind, helpful, and happy, would make a huge fire for us to come home to. The pool was a fun way to relax and get in some exercise. The caretaker's wife picked up groceries we asked for, then for $25 per morning, made fabulous breakfasts for us - fresh squeezed juices and delicious, hearty meals. From the house, we visited Quito (half hour away) Otovalo (3 hour drive), Mindo (3 hour drive), and Cotopaxi (1 hour drive) - all day trips. Both the inside and outside of the house have been well maintained, with elegance and great attention to detail. The house was not only pretty, but really comfortable (except for moth-ball smells in the bedrooms. Hopefully the owners will do something about that - we just tried to air the rooms out before bedtime). I can't say enough about the caretaker and housekeeper. They both made us all feel so welcome and cared for. They made us feel right at home and were very caring and genuine people. The place was perfect for our needs and gave us a memorable experience in Quito. We felt like we were experiencing the real Quito, versus a hotel. I highly recommend this place to anybody wanting a great landing pad in Quito. We had a wonderful experience in Ecuador - it's beautiful! (We recommend that you are very clear about days agreed to before going. Misunderstandings can crop up and put a damper on the experience. We had a misunderstanding about our deposit, but we found that this home-owner honored the days agreed upon ahead of time when it was re-clarified at the end. So, all was well and we got back our entire deposit.). Otherwise, it was a lovely house and perfect for our first visit to Ecuador. It was really clean, the amenities were all in good order, and I am telling friends and business associates about it. Good luck and have lots of fun!

  Ruth's House is gorgeous and an oasis of calm. We loved every detail of this home. Ruth is wonderfully accommodating. The grounds keeper is attentive and makes amazing fires in the fireplace from moist damp wood. We don't know how he did it. But we loved him for it.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers.

  We had a large family group aging from toddlers to grandparents and the house was enjoyed by all! The property comes equipped with everything you could possibly need and the new caretaker was very helpful. Although the property is only 20 minutes from downtown Quito and less than 5 minutes from the center of San Rafael you feel like you're hours from the city. My only recommendation is that you plan on renting a car. Taxis do pass fairly frequently outside the house but having your own transportation will make things a lot easier. If you're not up for driving in Quito many rental locations rent with a driver for very reasonable prices, I believe the owner even offers this service. If we find ourselves in Quito again with such a large group we will definitely be planning our stay at this beautiful property!

  My family, including parents, siblings, niece, nephew, and family friend recently spent a delightful week at the Kleiman home. The home is wonderful, beautifully maintained and surrounded by a very inviting front and side yards. My children, ages 6 & 9 enjoyed the pool as well as the ability to run outside safely. The home and guest house lent itself perfectly for 5 distinct families to find comfort and privacy. The owner provided fantastic assistance with local transportation and we were able to take a variety of day trips into Quito and the surrounding areas. The only thing better than the already excellent surroundings, was the service provided by the owner's housekeeper, who in addition to providing information on local sites, served wonderful meals at our request. I would easily recommend this home/owner to others and hope to be able to once again enjoy the home myself.

  We had a wonderful stay at the property and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great getaway. I anticipate coming back very soon. My baby loved running around the grounds and we enjoyed the house which was extremely cozy.

  We were so lucky to have the opportunity to celebrate our wedding reception in this beautifull house, everyone loved it!!! we spent two great weeks with some of our relatives and friends, everything was perfect, it´s very spacious, comfortable and clean, ít´s a great place for relax and have fun!!! It was without a doubt an unforgetable time for all of our guests and for ourselves. We are looking foward to come back to this house soon!!!
