Great Snowbird Place
Great Snowbird Place
Spent the month of March 2011 here and other than the weather did not co-operate not much to complain about. Accomodaton was spacious and comfortable. House was fully equipped and had stunning views right on the lake. Internet reception was a little sporadic if you really wanted to complain about anything. Great wineries and restaurants in the area especially Tinhorn Creek resturant and Wildfire restaurnt. Campo Marina was very good as well. The Osoyoos golf & Country Club was very close by and was very exciting to play. The club restaurnt was first rate a well. Wonderful Home Hardware store & must be seen to be believed. Owners who live next door were unobtrusive and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyable month.

Owner response: I'm happy to report that after spending several hours working with our internet provider, we finally achieved great success in setting up the wireless system that has given us problems this past month. Future vacationers should have no problem accessing the internet from our vacation property.

About the owner: We are both retired now but moved to Osoyoos in 1975 because of my husband's employment transfer. We intended to stay only 4 years but soon decided that this town is a great place to live so we built a lakeshore home where we raised our family and where we still reside.
Why the Owner Chose Osoyoos:
Some time later we purchased the lakeshore lot next door and built another home supposedly for our eventual retirement. In the meantime it became a desireable vacation destination for tourists and snowbirds. Over the years we have made additions and renovations with the plan that we would someday retire there and although we've been retired for several years this still hasn't happened and probably never will.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This area is a golfer's paradise boasting a 36 hole course 5 minutes away. There are also two 18 hole courses and two 9 hole courses 20 minutes away. Year round activities include all water sports, adventure playground, tennis, biking, hiking, horseback riding, mini golf, bowling, skiing, curling, concerts and street dances. As well, there are wine tours offered at our many vineyards and activities at the Community Centre and Seniors Centre.
