This secluded mountain home is perfect for a romantic getaway, family reunion, or just a break from the hectic pace of life. Visitors who have stayed here refer to this 'cabin in the woods' as 'Shangra La' because it has such a special feeling about it.
Whether you finally read that book in the hammock by the river, fly fish right from the back yard, star gaze at night from the privacy of the outdoor hot tub, sip hot cocoa by a wood fire at night, there is something for everyone at any age. Just 40 minutes away is the world famous Glenwood Hot Springs with healing waters, and Glenwood Caverns for thrill rides (a mountain roller coater), cave tours, white water rafting etc. etc. Aspen is just a short hour away for night life, shopping and incredible dining. The Crystal River Valley (the river the home sits on) is best known for world class fly fishing, hiking mountain trails, jeep tours, cross country skiing, snow shoeing and mountain biking. Historic Redstone Village is 1 short mile away with shops, antiquing, biking, tennis, swimming, castle tours and restaurants.
After a vacation at this beautiful mountain home you will feel rested, relaxed and experience a renewal of spirit.

Would be hard to imagine a more perfect and special piece of property on earth...the Crystal River on one side of the property and a creek running by on another. We enjoyed our 30th anniversary with our two children, their spouses, and a 10 month old granddaughter. You don't need to leave the grounds to enjoy the splendid scenery, sit by the river and soak up the Crystal River Valley views, enjoy the hot tub, dine outside on the screened-in lanai, grill on the deck overlooking the river, collect rocks, jump on the trampoline, and play cards around the table. We rode horses in Marble and got caught in a spectacular thunderstorm. Quite an adventure! Went whitewater rafting in Glenwood Springs. The owner was very helpful and her kitchen is very well stocked with all the dishes, pots, pans, etc., that you might need. The home itself is gorgeous, well decorated, and very comfortable. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one with a very comfy queen bed and the other with twin beds, that share a nice bath with walk in shower. Upstairs room has a queen bed and a double bed with it's own bath and a large walk in closet. There is a washer-dryer which was nice with a baby! We've been vacationing in the Crystal RiverValley for 15 years, and this was absolutely our most memorable stay. Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Vacationed here for four days with the family and it exceeded all expectations. If you enjoy natural beauty vereses man made beauty, this is the place for you. You can swim with your children in a pool to create fun, or you can swim with your children in a river and create memories! The pictures do not, and can not express the true beauty of this piece of property. It was amazing! We will be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Great Winter Weekend
Great Winter Weekend

My wife, 16-year old daughter and daughter's best friend just spent three great nights at this gorgeous house over a long winter weekend. Rebecca and Bill made us feel very welcome in this completely outfitted house along the river. It was cold and snowy outside but the hot tub, the fireplaces and well-insulated house kept us warm and comfortable. It is very private with many pines to shield the view from neighbors. It's a beautiful home filled with the accoutrements that show a family's love of place and of each other - very comforting. The complete kitchen made cooking very easy and late-night hot chocolate a snap. The town of Redstone is one of our favorite getaways, a post-card town with a fascinating history. This house is a short mile-and-a-half drive from it. The Redstone WinterFest was a lot of fun for all. It's also close enough that we drove to Glenwood Springs for soaking and groceries. The listing and photos are completely accurate and, if anything, don't do enough to show how the property is well-maintained. Bill and Rebecca called the morning after our arrival to take us through the hot tub, fireplace and other amenities. We ended up meeting them (and their handsome four-legged friend) in Redstone and they were just as nice as could be. Thank you, Bill and Rebecca. We can't wait to come back. Owner response: IT GIVES US SUCH GREAT JOY TO SHARE OUR PARADISE WITH SO MANY PEOPLE. WE HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING WONDERFUL FAMILIES AND THEIR FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS! WHEN WE HEAR ABOUT EACH VACATION AT OUR HOME WE ARE REMINDED OF HOW LUCKY WE ARE AND HOW OPENING OUR MOUNTAIN RETREAT TO OTHERS, ENRICHES THEIR LIVES AND OURS.

About the owner: Our Family chose to leave a hectic city life years ago and move to the peace and quiet of this beautiful crystal river valley. The memories we have shared in our special mountain home are proof that it was a good decision for our family, our health, and our peace of mind. We all feel we will live much longer because of the change of life style. We had visited this valley for many years before deciding to make it our home. Our children are in school in the Aspen area so we currently reside in our Snowmass Condo. This is why our magic river home is available for others to experience!
