Listen to the loons at our ultra private, newly renovated waterfront Post & Beam home located in a small waterfront community in Tuftonboro NH. Only 10 mins to Wolfeboro, our home features pine floors, a newly renovated kitchen with stainless appliances/dishwasher, granite countertops, Franke sink, Parma faucet and breakfast bar, new full bath, large living room with high ceiling and exposed beams, deck overlooking water, fireplace, two bedrooms with queen beds and a large loft with 2 twin beds, all new beds and mattresses. We have a new 12x32 screened-in porch. High speed wireless internet, unlimited long distance phone in the U.S., HD cable tv, 32' HD flat panel TV w/dolby 5.1 surround sound, DVD/CD and iPod connection. We have a high efficiency washer/dryer and ping pong table in basement. Located on a quiet lake with super clean water (oligotrophic), 160' of pristine & private waterfront with over 15 ft depth of visibility. Fully furnished. No pets. Minimum 1 week rental.
About Camp Beech: Camp Beech, our waterfront home is a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This is our vacation house. A neighbor best described the experience by saying 'time moves slowly on Lower Beach Pond'. The lake is very quiet, filled with wildlife (rainbow trout, brown trout, small and large mouth bass for fishing and a loon family we see daily). We even saw a moose swimming last year! Our home is great for relaxation, reading a book on the deck, lying in the sun or hammock, water sports or visiting North Conway's outlets for some retail therapy (35 mins away) and the town of Wolfeboro for fine dining or shopping (10 mins away). In addition to our shoreline property, there are 2 Hidden Valley Association beaches you will have access to which are great for family days, building sand castles and swimming, both are a few minutes walking distance. Bring your racket because there are tennis courts in the association. We hope you enjoy your stay and go home very relaxed!
About the Lake: Our home is located in a small, private community in Tuftonboro NH called Hidden Valley. Our vacation home is located on Lower Beach Pond which is a small Oligotrophic lake with a sandy bottom. Wikipedia defines these lakes 'to have low algal production and often have very clear waters, with high drinking-water quality.' There is a maximum of 10 horsepower boats on the lake. More common, however, to the water are canoes, sail boats, fisherman, and swimmers. Paddling around on surfboards is our preferred method of water transportation. What is yours? Swimming across the lake is also a fantastic way to start your day! We have a large floating cedar raft roughly 35-40ft from shore for relaxing and lying in the sun. Another attraction is Camp William Lawrence, a boys camp that my husband attended, see their website below. If the wind is just right, you can barely make out revelry at 7:30 AM signaling the beginning of another wonderful day for the campers and for you at Camp Beech
Special Referral Offer: If you have visited Camp Beach or are visiting this site and believe someone you know would like to rent our home, please email Carl. If your friends stay at our house during the off season, we will be happy to send you a $100 referral fee after their stay. Please make sure whoever is staying with us drops your name so we can thank you appropriately after their stay.
People who are often are able to stay with us during the off peak season would be those without school aged children and retirees. The nice thing about the off season, such as the beginning of June, or Mid September through October, is that many of the tourists have left, the lake is warm, the weather if often breath taking, and you'll be lucky to see ANYONE on the lake. It's just that quiet and private!
So if you fall into the category of being able to rent in the off season, take advantage of even greater peace and quiet.

Imagine a pristine lake, now image a deck that overlooks the lake with water so clear that you can literally see fish swimming to surface to eat their morning breakfast. Now, that alone is intoxicating but when you add the tastefully decorated home that Carl and Erika have put together, it makes for a truly relaxing retreat away from the world. That said, if you want to be plugged in, you can, as there is wifi throughout the house that you can use. However, our favorite thing was playing scrabble each morning with our cup and coffee and just taking our time in getting ready for the day. Whether hiking, fishing, leaf peeping, or shopping in North Conway -- there's no better place than to kick back but Lower Beech Pond. I kid you not, the water is pristine, an amazing little lake with an equally amazing little house that can comfortably sleep 6 people with the blink of an eye. We'll be back. My husband and two children (7 and 9) and I spent a wonderfully peaceful week at this lake house and can't wait to go back. The house is adorable, the screened-in porch is great fun, the yard is beautiful, and the water is clear and inviting. When you're outside it smells like sunshine on pine needles. I can't recommend it highly enough -- just don't take my week!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed at this cottage while visiting my son who is working at a boys' camp outside Wolfeboro. The location is excellent; right on the pond with great swimming and a dock and raft for hanging out. Pond was just the right size and temperature for swimming and in the height of the summer, the higher elevation of this home provides additional cooling. A very relaxing retreat!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

Everything about this property is enjoyable, neat and well appointed. Kitchen has plenty of utilities for home cooking, living room/dining room is perfect for relaxed indoor time, large screened in porch is heaven with an afternoon breeze on a hot day and the view of the lake from the house is picture perfect. The lake is clear and the sandy bottom by the dock is most welcome for those of us who have spent more time in the ocean than a lake. Love the outdoor shower for post swim rinse-offs and with a small child, I'm grateful to have the practically new HE washer/dryer for the occasional load. Having Wolfeboro only a 15 minute drive away is a great option for meals and groceries, and the farmer's market there on Thursdays is small but offers nearly eveything you could want, including vegetables, honey, meat and other local products. Owners are diligent and helpful, couldn't be more pleasant to work with.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I love staying in this vacation house! The house is very well taken care of, it's clean and has almost everything you need (no AC) but the fans provided do a good job keeping you cool at night. Both the house and lake are extremely private. It's truly a "get away from it all" spot, it takes about 20 minutes to get to a resturant or grocery store but we didn't mind the peaceful drive into town. I would recommend this house to anyone with young children (my and son I loved the chipmunks and bluejays that we fed bread to) and anyone who is just looking to relax! I hope to stay here again, one week just wasn't enough! :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Others who have left reviews were there with a family, and I can see that it would be an ideal place share and enjoy with some kid, but in our case it was a romantic getaway for myself and my husband and we were equally impressed. The house is beautiful, just the right balance of "lake house" and "home", the kitchen is so well equipped, literally they have every implement and pan you could need. The dishwasher and washer dryer are new and very efficient. The lake was already warm enough to swim in and it felt like heaven to take a nice cool dip. We opted to go to the beach which is a 3 minute walk from the house, but there is a private dock and floating dock for swimming right on the property too. In terms of "things to do " in the area, there's a top 10 that includes the famous "castle in the clouds", antiquing, the outlets in North Conway and some beautiful hiking spots near by. We truthfully didn't do a lot of the other activities, there was more than enough fishing, swimming, relaxing, loon spotting and photographing to be done right at the house. For groceries and other supplies, there is a supermarket really close by (Hannifords). The screened in porch was a delight - great for your morning coffee and watching the relaxed little chipmunks scurrying around the yard. When we settled in for the night the living area was ideal and it was great to have internet and cable. The bed's are really comfortable - we slept like babies! All in all, a fantastic experience, the best rental place I've stayed at - and I'm basing this on renting at least 2ce a year in this area for the last six years ! Carl was great to work with, very friendly and always on hand to take questions. We'll be back ! Can't wait ... Niamh and BrianDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a fantastic week on Lower Beach Pond. The cottage is perfect: clean, comfortable and well equipped. There's a great screened porch, and a deck with a beautiful view of the pond. The house had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable! Lower Beach Pond is beautiful. The water is warm and clear, and the lake is very quiet - great for swimming, paddling and fishing. There is also a lot to do in the area: great (though hilly) biking, nice hikes, and Wolfeboro is nearby with nice shops and restaurants. We hope to return next summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children.

This is exactly the kind of lake house we were looking for and it is perfect for a family. There are cool woods surrounding the house, which my kids loved exploring (they were sad to not find any wolves). Chipmunks scurry about the grounds and the clean lake is full of trout that are remarkably easy to catch and taste wonderful on the grill. It is very quiet at night and on rainy days you can play hours of Ping Pong or sit in the enclosed porch to read. The owners provide more than we expected (games, water rafts, buckets, books, etc).Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.
