Morningside Estate was home to the popular TV show, Canada's Next Top Model Show (season1) The girls stay in our home for 6 weeks during the television shoot and then half of Canada saw the inside of our house. We thought that would be the extent of it but while traveling in Malaysia, I turned on the TV and there was the show...and our house! I had no idea how far and wide it got. The house has also been featured on HGTV's Homes by Design for it's amazing Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design, which can be seen on our website.
Our Ocean Playground: Morningside Estate is ocean front property located on the protected waters of Saanich Inlet. The location gives rise to lots of possibilities! The famous Butchard Gardens can be reached by a little water taxi and is just minutes away. Many of our guests are charmed by a boat excursion on Saturday night to take in the spectacular fireworks at the gardens and then to escape the traffic mayhem by boarding the boat for a star filled night passage back to Morningside. It is necessary to book the passage well in advance as it is an extremely popular activity. Our commercial dock is a perfect launch for other exciting activities. Whether it is fishing from the dock or using it as a launch point for an air adventure tour of Vancouver Island, you will find that fun and adventure awaits.
Gardens and Water Features: The natural setting surrounding Morningside Estate is truly awe-inspiring. The ocean, the steep valley and feeling that you are submerged in a fantastic natural setting are the inspirations for our gardens and water features. When you leave Victoria and head up the mountain, you have a feeling that you have left civilization behind. The cultured gardens and many waterfalls are crafted to remind us that man and nature can co-exist and work together to create a sensual experience.
We have built waterfalls, water features and koi ponds from the naturally occurring rock on the property and have create gardens blending the exotic with the native. Guests are always shocked to see bananas, olive trees, jubjube trees, fig trees and a host of palms and bamboo growing in Canada. Regardless of whether your interests lie in aesthetics or horticulture, the gardens will be sure to delight.
House and Hospitality: The house has been designed to reflect the sensibilities of Frank Lloyd Wright. It is located on a few minutes north of Victoria nestled on the shores of a fijord, called Saanich Inlet. The property is surrounded by parkland providing a truly private place that will remain in your happy thoughts for years.. All this adds up to the fact that you can have the ultimate in privacy and still be close enough to enjoy what the City of Victoria has to offer.
Janet and Gerry Morgan operate the resort like home and will help you make your vacation with us memorable. We have a large number of services right on the property or willing to come in including cooking, cleaning, spa services, catering and concierge service is required.
