A vaulted ceiling, opened-hearthed fireplace, and natural blends of wood throughout offer guests a warm and inviting place to relax after a day of sightseeing, beachcombing, hiking, kayaking, boating, whale watch touring, biking or lobster feasting. Free internet WIFI service, cable TV and long distance phone calls in USA and Canada. As an added plus, the owner is a certified nutritionist/private chef, licensed personal support specialist and offers reasonably priced cooking services and care giving services. Owner also has VRBO rental in Boca Grande, Florida #288564.
This vacation rental is very special! The cozy, warm feel of the place helps you to relax. Seal Harbor is the jewel village of the island and a contrast from the touristy town of Bar Harbor that is a ten minute ride away. Northeast Harbor is just five minutes away. Some of the world's best sailing and boating waters are surrounding this area. The range of things to explore is endless. There is a little of everything cultural and sporty, safe and healthy. Acadia National Park is the smallest national park in the USA, but it is the fourth most visited national park. Most of the park is on Mt. Desert Island and it only has a 40 mile diameter but it is packed with delightful sea villages, rugged rockbound coastlines, sandy beaches, mountains (Cadillac Mt. with auto road), and exciting coves. Restaurants abound, shopping and galleries are all over the place. The natural beauty is the best part of this island, and it's uniqueness is world renowned!!!!
The first floor has a living room with vaulted ceiling, brick fireplace, and entertainment center with cable TV, VCR, and DVD player. Free internet WIFI services and phone services. Nicely decorated kitchen with NEW SPACIOUS PANTRY, expandable breakfast/dining table and custom tiled floors. There is a NEW finely furnished dining room. NEW FULL bathroom with washer/dryer are available on first floor.
The second floor has two bedrooms with a full bathroom in between them. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has a set of twin beds. A single or double air bed can be made available for an additional guest upon request.
There is an outdoor picnic table and charcoal grill to enjoy the spacious front lawn area. A quiet and safe playground is a two minute walk away at the Acadia Oceanography Institute schoolyard.
The owner also has another VRBO rental in Boca Grande, Florida #288564.

Can't wait to return!!
Can't wait to return!!
This was our first trip to Maine and we fell in LOVE! Everything about this rental exceeded expectations- the photos do not do it justice. Our son has a severe peanut allergy making restaurants next to impossible in most cases, and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need to prepare our own meals. ( he was thrilled to be able to eat a big yummy grilled cheese at Mainely Meat at Atlantic Brewing Co; they were so accommodating - highly recommended) The bedrooms are spacious and super comfortable and we enjoyed winding down in the cozy living room playing cards and talking about all the fun we had during the day. We were sad to leave and can't wait to come back. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us.

Owner response: We really appreciate your wonderful comments! Yes, we think it is "a little piece of heaven" too! Our place is very special as it sets smack in the middle of Acadia National Park, yet it is in a quaint and quiet sea village. The positive energy fills you up quickly and pulls you into a very comfortable zone when you enter our rental. It is just like "home". The smell of the ocean, sunrise on top of Cadillac Mt. and the spectacular panoramic views of the coast of Maine, the Park Loop Rd. with Ocean Drive and Sand Beach, Thunderhole, Otter Cliffs, Jordan Pond and Eagle Lake, bustling Bar Harbor, and Somes Sound, and Sea Wall, the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Pretty Marsh, the quaint scenic harbors, the mountains, and other natural wonders (we can go on and on!) are ALL UNFORGETABLE for this is the best part of Maine! Acadia National Park is one of the country's most beautiful national parks and well worth the distance to travel and see it! We do need to update our photos though, don't we? (and we will soon). Yes, we are reserving this same week for you again next summer! Will stay in touch. Thanks again for your praises! All the best, Rhonda
Lovely cottage for a couple and 2~3 kids in a quite location. We had a good time. Need some more space in the kitchen cabinets.

Owner response: Yes, Manoj: We have put a new addition on the house that will be available in 2013. It will include another full bathroom on the first floor with the laundry moved there also. This will allow the house to have a new pantry between the kitchen and the formal diningroom. This will solve the storage issue. We are excited to offer a nicer situation. We love our guests and listen to their needs. Best regards, Rhonda
Perfect Family Vacation
Perfect Family Vacation
My family of four stayed here for 5 nights last year (dates are approximate). It is perfectly situated next to Acadia, down the road from Bar Harbor (without all the tourist hustle) and a short walk to a public beach which provided for some nice early morning and late evening sand-dollar hunts and tide-pool exploration. The home has everything you might need and was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Vacation Spot
Wonderful Vacation Spot
Our first 3 generation vacation at Acadie Cottage provided all of us with memories that will last a lifetime! We had a long drive from Rhode Island and it was so wonderful to arrive to this warm, cozy cottage with lights on for us and kindling ready for the fireplace. It is in a great location, away from the busy town area and offers easy access to Acadia National Park. We were on the go in the park alot and when we got home from our adventures we really felt like we were coming "home". The well appointed kitchen allowed us to do most of our own cooking, a real money saver. It would have been helpful to have a little more available cupboard space, we had to keep most of our stuff on the counters as the cupboards are full of the owners belongings. The yard is charming and my grandchildren had loads of fun playing there with lots of toys provided at the cottage. There is a cute little playground just down the road that they also enjoyed. We had 6 adults and 3 kids, including a baby and 3 dogs there and were all very comfortable. We were so delighted that the owners allowed us to bring all of our dogs! The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable, the room with the twin beds is huge and worked great for my daughter and her husband with their 2 kids...plenty of open floor space for sleeping bags. The downstairs bedroom is big and has an adjacent half bath with laundry which was perfect for my son and his wife with their baby in a porta-crib. Acadia Nat. Park is one of our very favorite destinations and this was a great place to stay!
