We spent a week in Gary and Theresa's cabin and had such a wonderful time. Gary and Theresa are the perfect hosts and so generous with their time - even inviting us to their New Year's Eve party! When we left we felt like we were leaving old friends. The cabin is perfect - beautifully decorated and built with such attention to detail. It was only the two of us so we had more than enough space but it would be perfect for a family of 4 or 5. The bathrooms are great and having a washer/dryer after a week of skiing at Big Sky was ideal. The kitchen is stocked with a ton of pots, pans, gadgets and utensils - we had everything we needed for a week of preparing meals. The cabin is located halfway between East Glacier and West Glacier so it was a scenic drive of about 20 miles if we needed anything but we stocked-up on our way up from Bozeman so we didn't need anything. We spent a few days snow shoeing in GNP and then a day at Isaac Walton cross-country skiing which was really fun. Gary and Theresa's property backs up to the river and we snowshoe'd down to the edge of the proprety and soaked-into the view which was beautiful. We will definitely stay here again.

Owner response: Thank you Liz! We so enjoyed having the two of you here for our Winter Wonderland Holiday! If we are ever in your neck of the woods we will certainly look you two up! Our daughter travels a lot to your area and we told her that she should hook up with you guys as well, I consider her the female version of Gary! haha.... Love you guys and thank you for allowing us to call you our friends! Sincerely, Gary and Theresa

My wife and two daughters stayed at Gary and Theresa's Cabin for our summer vacation and we couldn't have had a better time. Gary and Theresa are probably the most welcoming owner's we've ever encountered in our travel experience (this being the fourth time we've rented a vacation home). It started with a long flight/drive (that I miss-calculated by about 2 hours) and getting in much later than we had hoped arriving to a bon-fire with several of Gary and Theresa's friends. Now it wasn't overbearing by any sense but very welcoming. After getting settled a drink by the fire was a welcome end to our journey. During our stay Gary and Theresa were around but not too much so (they live in the cabin across the driveway). They were gone for a few days but we always had access to them if needed. They gave us great advice and tips that we used and found very helpful. I have zero doubt that if I needed something today and was in their area I could call them up and they would do whatever they could, they're just that kind of people that you wish there were more of in this world. The cabin was tremendous. Everything you'd want in a rustic feeling but well maintained and modern cabin. It had everything we needed for our family. My wife and I are sticklers for cleanliness and this cabin easily surpassed our rigorous levels of satisfaction. We were very happy. The internet connect isn't the best but given our location that's not surprising. The location was also ideal. In fact I'd say we lucked into a great situation. We weren't looking for a central location, but after visiting Glacier I don't think there is a better spot. It's about 20 minutes to the West spots and about 40-45 to the East spots (I'm talking about the actual sights not the gates). But if we would have stayed on one side or the other it would have made getting back and forth much more difficult. We were a few minutes west of a nice entrance to the river which made for a nice stroll on a few occasions. The park itself is truly one of the greatest natural sites to see. If you've never been I can't encourage you more to take a trip. We didn't see as much wildlife as there is on our trip but the black bear scratches on the deck made for a great story! We did a helicopter tour just up the road and it was a great addition to the trip that I also highly recommend if possible. My oldest daughter already is making plans to come back and rest assured the only place we'll stay is here!

Could not have wished for a more perfect place to celebrate our first anniversary...the cabin is so comfortable and well appointed...you lack for nothing. We loved the location directly between the park entrances and the cabin grounds are spectacular...Gary and Theresa are perfect hosts - they are there when you need them and give you space to be alone as well. We loved it so much we are planning our return trip for August and would not want to stay anywhere else..if you are looking for a really wonderful place to be secluded yet very welcome and comfortable, could not recommend any place more highly! Not having cell service was a bonus for us and really allowed us to reconnect and enjoy the beauty of life together in amazing surroundings....would absolutely recommend without hesitation.

I can't say too much about how nice this rental was. Theresa & Gary were so welcoming. They thought of everything from soaps to spices & everything in between. The rental exceeded my expectations from a welcome basket & flowers to a loaf of homemade bread. The property is right between East & West Glacier, so everything is easy to reach. I would definetly stay here again & hope I will be able to sometime.

What a great time we had staying in this cabin! The cabin was even nicer than in the pictures and everything you needed was right there waiting for you. Theresa and Gary did a great job in making sure that this was a "vacation" for you. The location was nice in that you could experience both sides of the park and Theresa and Gary were exceptional hosts. I feel as thought we left the cabin with two new friends. We will definately return to this cabin again and I highly recommend it to anyone else. A note to any women who may be going with a hunter and left behind at the cabin....Theresa has a hair salon and I was fortunate enough to be able to score an appointment with her. I had great results and a great "girls" morning!

This was by far the best vacation rental we ever experienced (and we have rented many)! The cabin was a gorgeous log home, perfectly situated to experience GNP. It was located halfway between both entrances. The owners were extremely accommodating helping us with activities, bonfires, etc. The cabin itself offered all the comforts of home situated in the middle of some of the most beautiful wilderness in the country. The kitchen had everything you needed and more. The cabin had all the essentials you could ever need (even more than our own home)! If we ever had an opportunity to experience GNP again, we would absolutely choose this cabin. We are missing Montana already!

Brought my wife and kids several years ago to Gary and Theresa's cabin. It's really not a cabin, it's a beautifully constructed and well appointed rustic home. You haven't had great coffee until you make it with their tap water - the best mountain water I've ever tasted. We had a wonderful time and were treated very well. After a lot of daydreaming about it, I finally went back with a fishing buddy last week. It's like I never left. Gary and Theresa greeted us with hugs and the warmest hospitality possible. I can see from the reviews below that my experience at the cabin isn't unique. Beyond the cabin doors are the most breathtaking views imaginable. Of yeah, we fished over 50 miles of river and found the best water and nicest trout right out back from the cabin. WARNING: clean air, happy people, gorgeous wilderness, belly laughs, and stress free living could become addictive and make you seriously consider staying forever. Consider yourself warned.

Owner response: John, you and your family and friends are welcome here Anytime!!!! Gary went fishing on the Missouri and did very well. Next time you come back we will have a Montana fishing trip! Thank you for visiting with us here on the Mountain! Hope you enjoyed the Gumbo from Key West and the sauerkraut from Gary's secret recipe! Take care and have a wonder fall season! Sincerely, Gary and Theresa

Gary and Theresa were beyond friendly and welcoming- from the thoughtful gift basket to the helpful tips, they made our trip extra memorable. The cabin was absolutely gorgeous, and had a cozy, Montana-feel to it. It was also fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. We had an amazing time making s'mores by the ready-made campfire while stargazing at night. Our Labor Day weekend couldn't have been better. Everyone thinking of visiting Glacier National Park should experience living in this fabulous log cabin by staying with the Steffens!

I don't even know where to being to describe how great our stay was with Gary & Theresa. As we were planning our trip to Montana they gave us ideas of places and activities to do while there. Once we arrived they made us feel like family by greeting us my name. Letting us borrow fishing rods, having a camp fire, telling us trails to hikes, places to fish, and having a STOCKED cabin are just some of the things that made our trip awesome. You could stay at their cabin and bring only your clothing and food and you would be set. The cabin pictures posted on here are great but in person you feel like you are at home and the details throughout the cabin are spectacular. When we come back to Montana we will defiantly bring the kids and book with Gary and Theresa again. They are located at a distance from Glacier National Park that you could drive there everyday. You will not be disappointed if you rent from Gary & Theresa. Thank you Gary and Theresa for making our stay very memorable. No regrets here!

We have utilized sevral VRBO properties in the past and this beautiful house is now at the top of our list. Amazing to take a 3-minute walk on the property and come to a beautiful river which seperates the property from Glacier National Park. The house was the most well-stocked we've seen with a very nice welcome gift basket from the owners. The house is beautiful and the owners outstanding and helpful. Great access to Glacier National Park, away from the hustle and touristy West Glacier. Had a great time and we highly recommend the property. Greg & Sandy, Millville, NJ

Why the Owner Chose West Glacier:
We are only 56 miles from the Kalispell Airport and 20 min.'s away from either entrance to Glacier National Park and a train station, the Isaac Walton, for Trail Rides, Cross Crountry Skiing, is located just 5 miles away with car rentals available. We are also close to the Continental Divide, Many Glacier and Waterton National Park. This cabin is located in the heart of the Flathead Valley. You can also enjoy Winter activities, Skiing and Snowshoeing, Glacier National Park is a great place to get out & enjoy the solitude. Most of Glacier's roads are closed in the wintertime, but that's ok, cause snow makes for ideal ski routes. you can still enjoy Going to the Sun Road, Lake McDonald Lodge, Polebridge and Autumn Creek Trail. The Isaak Walton Inn boasts more than 30km of groomed trails at Essex. in Whitefish you have skiing, and cross country trails.Bigfork is an awesome place to visit as well, in the winter or summer seasons. Don't forget Snow mobiling! Ice Fishing!.. in the summer-Play Golf at the Whitefish Country Club, East Glacier and West Glacier! The list goes on and on and on....
