Our 3/2 Beautiful 2nd Story Home is in Marathon Fl. Located in the middle of the Florida Keys at MM53 which makes the rest of the Keys with-in easy reach. It is on a deep-water channel on the Gulf side with 75’ of concrete dockage. The Gulf is only minutes out the channel and the Atlantic Ocean just a few minutes more back thru Vaca Cut Pass.
The 75’ of Concrete Dock has a concrete stair cut-out down to the water and a Stainless steel fish cleaning station. The dock is also equipped with fresh water and electric. The water front has a nice area for Sun bathing, lounging and relaxing at the dock. Also in the rear under the unit has a large picnic table and barbecue grill for grilling and outside dining.
The unit has 2 sets of concrete stairs, one located in the front parking area and the other in the rear for easy access to dock and grilling area. There is plenty of off road parking on the right side and under the house. Our caretaker who maintains the property and has plenty of Keys advice, lives in the downstairs apartment left side.
Upstairs is a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with tile floors thru-out. There is a 10’ x 38’ screened porch across the rear facing the water for relaxing and watching sunsets with balconies on each side. The spacious master bedroom has a King bed and computer desk with High Speed Internet connections, the #2 bedroom has a Queen bed and the #3 bedroom has 2-Double beds, all 3 have plenty of closet space. The Laundry room is located upstairs with Washer/Dryer & Large Freezer.
The Living/Dining/Kitchen area is very spacious and well equipped. There is a 37” Digital TV with plenty of channels to choose from for any goof-off days
There are two nice boat ramps with in a mile of the house for your convenience.
Also Fine and casual dining close by.
Let us recommend 2 Locals’ restaurants that are a must, Island Fish Co at MM54 and the Key Colony Inn located on Key Colony Beach.

Why the Owner Chose MarathonWe spent many years renting and researching the Keys from Key Largo to Key West and decided the best place to build was in Marathon. Marathon is located in the middle of the Keys and puts the rest of the Keys at easy reach. Marathon is one of the nicer and cleaner Communities so we built our house in 1991 and are now putting our home out for Vacation Rental on VRBO so that others could enjoy our beautiful home and share the excitement of the Keys. The house was designed with the perfect layout for relaxing or being together as a group.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseThe house is very relaxing and your boat is located right out back for easy loading and direct access to the Gulf and Atlantic Ocean. The fishing, diving, snorkeling and lobstering are great with nice dive sites such as "Sombrero Reef" and "The Thunderbolt" close by. Excellent restaurants are also close and are accessible by land or sea.

My Family and I were raised in Tampa Fl. We are all water Fun-Natics and spent most of our weekends at the beach, on the boats, fishing, swimming, diving, lobstering and cruising back and forth to the Keys. We have spent many years vacationing in the Keys and enjoyed it so much that we decided to build a house there so that we could come and go as we please and possibly for future retirement.

I stayed here the for month of Februrary. Very convenient to everything. Very spacious. Very comfortable. Owner was extremely helpful with nearby activities and day trips. The bus to Key West stop was right around the corner. Cost was $4 oneway and if you are over 60 it's only $1.50. Walking distance to Franks Grill, a really good Italian restaurant.Walgeens around the corner. We saw manatees in the canal right behind the house several times. I was there long enough to even get to know the neighbors. Swam with the dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center. Only slight problem is that it is on a flight path and there are quite a few steps. All in all, had a fantastic time. Highly recommend. Hope I can go back next winter!!!!!

If you want a clean, ROOMY house with boat dockage and easy access to the Bay or Atlantic, then this is the place for you! Yes, the local "resorts" are tempting with their sparkling pools and artificial beaches, but if you do what I did and look at them closely, you will see that they do not offer the SPACE, PRIVACY, and GREAT VALUE that this house offers. When you walk out onto the SCREENED back porch there will not be other people sitting on their porch next to you. You will not hear others below, above, or next to you when you are trying to sleep. The (unobtrusive) caretaker, Wayne, is very helpful as is the owner Jim who genuinely wants you to have a great time on your vacation. Marathon is the best location in the Keys as far as I am concerned---there is a great Publix for groceries and a K-Mart for everything else. If you get tired of eating seafood, try the Cuban restaurant El Siboney in Marathon (also in Key West). The central location makes everything easily accessible. We enjoyed Mallory Square and the Hemingway House in Key West, walking the beaches at Bahia Honda and Sombrero, shopping at World Wide Sportsman and eating at Mrs. Mac's Kitchen in Islamorada. Wayne hooked us up with a boat rental for three days and we had the best time fishing and then snorkeling on Sombrero Reef--the number one snorkel spot in the Keys. The Dolphin Research Center and the Turtle Hospital are both close by, too. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer...we sure hope we can stay here again in the not so distant future!

Perfect Home for Relaxation and Exploring Paradise

Our family just returned home after a beautiful week in Marathon. As soon as I entered our "home away from home" for the week, I knew we found the perfect location. Our favorite aspects of this home were: 1. The kitchen - perfectly stocked with all the dishes, utensils, and pots and pans we needed. We loved the ice maker on the refrigerator (the crushed ice is perfect for margaritas). 2. The screened in porch - always a cool breeze coming through and a great spot to enjoy the sun setting with a perfect backdrop of palm trees. 3. The dock - we loved the different aspect of nature than what we are used to - we enjoyed our daily visits from our iguana and manatee friends. Also a great place to sunbathe, very private. 4. The gas grill - perfect for cooking your fresh catch. 5. The owner - was very welcoming and the perfect concierge for the home and the surrounding area. 6. Great room - enough room for the entire family to stretch out and recount the day's adventures. Also, the beds were very comfortable, lots of hot water and closet space, and the unit is very white, bright, and clean. We will definitely be back! Thank you Captain Jim for an amazing week!

My girlfriend and two other couples visited in the beginning of September and had a great time. The house couldn't be in a better location for dining and for ocean and gulf access by boat. We brought my 18' CC and caught fish each time out. The house is very spacious and extremely well cared for and is in safe quiet neighborhood. I would recommend staying here to anyone! Thanks to Jim and Kelly.

We have staying in this home four times the home is beautiful it is a beautiful quiet location we had our own private boat dock right behind the house and the kids chased around the iguana fishing was great every time we go back we find something new and exciting to do my wife enjoy the convenience of shopping centers and restaurants located nearby home is beautiful and clean every time we went there I would recommend this marathon home to anybody looking to have a great time

Spent 5 of the best fishing days of my life here. Very short boat ride to the edge of the reef. We did all our fishing offshore and it was great. The house was comfortable with grocery store and liquor store within a few bloks. Would reccomend to anyone.
