Bucket Manor - Our Lovely Bright Tahoe Home, Wifi, Fenced, Dogs Allowed
- Minimum stay:2-3 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Visit our lovely vacation home in beautiful Lake Tahoe! Our modern house has full amenities, with wifi, new beds, dining for 8, a gas grill, and a fenced-in yard. We think our house has everything one would want from a true Lake Tahoe experience! In summer enjoy a shady dinner in the backyard under our stately old-growth redwood tree, or in winter cozy up to our toasty (and environmentally-friendly) gas stove. The front porch is perfect for catching rays or hanging out with family or friends. In summer, we enjoy nothing more than sitting at the wall at the end of our stone garden path and enjoying an iced tea (or perhaps a pitcher of margaritas!). There's tons of activities within a short walk from the front door. Serious hiking or leisurely walks can be found with Sugar Pine Point State Park slightly less than 100 yards from the front door or Desolation Wilderness 500 yards down our cross street. In winter, those same places offer the perfect spots for x-country skiing or snowshoeing.

We had a great time visiting Bucket Manor. It felt cozy but had ample room for our family of four. It was also felt appropriately secluded but was close to all the west shore sites. Enjoyed swimming at Meeks Bay and visiting Sugar Pine. Hope to come back soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our two week stay on Lake Tahoe's west shore at Bucket Manor was wonderful. We loved the house location in this quiet neighborhood. This home was comfortable and roomy for our six adults with a very nice large well stocked kitchen. WiFi was really a plus! Be sure to visit the Sugar Pine Beach for a picnic, kayaking and more for a beautiful quiet location you can walk to. Best restaurants nearby: Sunnyside Grill and Jakes on the Lake. Laine was wonderful and made all the arrangements so easy! Two weeks was not long enough for us we hated to leave.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a very relaxing and fabulous stay at the Bucket Manor. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and everything worked! Having a gas BBQ was great, and had quiet morning coffee time on the decks in the front and back. Being close to Sugar Pine State Park allowed us to walk up General Creek, and on down to the lake. We had some pleasant bike rides around the area also. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I'd definitely like to return and stay again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We stayed at this property for the weekend and this would be our first trip to the snow with the kids. Laine had been very helpful and easy to reach from beginning to end. She even helped us find the property when our Mapquest directions had failed! The house was very clean and just big and comfortable enough for the 4 of us. There wasn't much snow yet in the backyard when we got there but it was lucky that many snow parks are nearby. Squaw Valley is about 20 mins driving. All-in-all, it was a great first time experience for us. My daughter couldn't wait to go again next winter. Thanks!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children.

we had a lovely stay and a great time at your Tahoe cabin. We enjoyed every minute of it, the cabin had everything we needed to have a "home"cooked meal. Great location, very close to Homewood resort, restaurants and supermarket near by--- just like the description. We felt really comfortable and treated the cabin as our home. Internet was down while we were there (maybe due to snow storm?) but it was not an issue.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

The house worked out great for our vacation. My husband and I have a baby girl and a dog and were looking for a family-friendly place to take visitors from Denmark (a family of five, including 3 boys). The house was perfect - it gave everyone a home base from which to explore and we didn't all have to be doing all the same things at the same time. We were able to bring our dog, which was great. The rooms were comfortable, the place was very clean, the kitchen was well-equipped. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Oh yes, there are vintage video tapes! We loved the Monty Python one. Brought back great memories!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is the perfect Tahoe get away - I have stayed there in both winter and summer and had really wonderful experiences. The inside has a lot of personality (old skiboots as lamps, VCR with lots of old movies, games) and the beds are super comfortable with nice linens. Everything was really clean and well maintained (and I am a little bit of a germo-phobe) and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking big family meals. In the summer it is 2 second walk to beautiful hikes and in the winter Homewood (which is my favorite place to ski) is the local jaunt. The owner is super nice to deal with and made a full book of all the best activities and vendors in the area so you don't need to waste researching this before hand. I'll be going back soon!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a fantastic stay. The house is very cosy and has everything that a family with children might need for a vacation, including a fenced yard. It is a very convenient location, as well, just a short drive from the city and within walking distance to the playground and the beach. We will be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We really enjoyed staying at Bucket Manor recently! The home is recently remodeled, the beds are very comfortable, and the home is well-supplied. It's one of the best rental properties we've stayed in...the owners clearly try to make it a comfortable place to stay.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Year Purchased: 2008
About the owner: Our names are Dave and Laine. We're good friends who decided to buy this house in March 2008 because we love the mountains and the lake and the whole area. (How could you not?) Our house is called Bucket Manor, named after Dave's dog Bucket. He was abandoned in a large painter’s bucket with two of his siblings. He was the runt of the litter, with a heart problem. But Dave couldn’t resist the one stand-up ear and one floppy ear, and he was sold. So he rescued Bucket and has given him a loving home in San Francisco. (And Laine has dog-sat for him sometimes too.) Bucket loves the outdoors. Fetch is his favorite game, and if you throw a tennis ball or even a pine cone, he will be your best friend for life. So it seemed natural to name the house after him - Bucket Manor. He won’t be there when you go up to the house, but the spirit of him is always around. We hope you enjoy your stay. -Dave and Laine
