  Loved the house. We enjoyed everything about the house. Breakfast and lunch on the screened-in porch, riding bicycles. It's a good location for going to restaurants, riding bicycles, walking. The house was very cozy and clean. We would be happy to recommend it to anyone. We usually vacation with at least 12-13 people each summer at Oak Island. This year my husband and I took a week for ourselves. We enjoyed it so much that we would like to rent the house again in the future.

  This is the 3rd year that we have stayed in the cottage and every year we enjoy it more than the year before. It's perfect for our two kids, my husband and myself. I confess I was a little concerned about only one bathroom the first year, but the kids would prefer to use the outside shower anyway so there's never been an issue! The owners have always been really nice and responsive. It's great to have the beach toys there to use, less to bring from home. It's also nice to have the washer and dryer. The kids enjoyed breakfast on the sceened in porch, bike rides through the neighborhood, and the scenic walk to the beach. I fully expect that we will continue to rent the cottage for years to come.

  What a wonderful family vacation! Our stay here was great. Very clean and and very charming. This cottage was close to everything so you never had a far drive to stores etc... I am going to be contacting owner soon to book our next vacation at their cottage! Don't think twice when you look at this listing, it is a great deal! God Bless

  We (2 girlfriends for 50 years) wanted to go to the coast of NC. This was the perfect place for us. It is reasonably priced and had everything we needed. The cottage was cozy, comfortable and we especially enjoyed the outside shower. We used the bikes to take the beach chairs and umbrella to the beach. This cottage isn't on the beach but we spent every morning and evening sitting on the front porch enjoying the quiet and the birds. We went to Southport and to Wilmington as well as all around Oak Island and to Bald Head Island. There is even a dairy queen in Oak Island! What more could you ask for? Perfect.

  We had a wonderful time at this home. Perfect for our family - myself, my husband and our 3 yearold along with my parents. We loved the screened in porch and ate all our meals out there. It was a wonderful way to unwind from a long day! We loved that bikes were provided. We used them everyday and our son loved his daily bike rides. It was so nice that we didn't have to pack beach gear, everything was provided! The outdoor shower was perfect and we loved it so much we took all our showers out there. House is as described and was a great deal!! We went to SouthPort for some great meals out and shopping, which is only 3 miles away. Worth the trip!!

  This house is wonderful! My 22 month old daughter loved all the toys and it was so nice to not have to pack toys, beach toys, pack and play, and a booster seat. The outdoor shower was perfect for coming home from the beach... but we loved it so much that we used it every time we needed to shower. This home is exactly as described and is a steal of a deal. Can't wait to go again!

  Spent 9 wonderful days in this cottage. Perfect for 2 adults and 3 children. Clean and very well stocked. Easy bike ride to a beautiful beach. Walk to intercostal waterway and creek full for shrimp and crabs. I will certainly recommend this place to others and hope to return again sometime too.

  Very comfortable and homey accommodations, perfect for our family of five! VRBO listing description was right on! The air conditioning was a very welcome relief from the 97 degree heat and high humidity. The screened in porch and ceiling fans added some southern charm to the cottage. Home was tidy and perfect sized. Had a great time at the beach and loved the outdoor shower. The rental transaction was very easy and check in/check out was stress free. Many thanks for sharing your house with us.

  What a deal! We have two young boys, 2.5 years and 2 months. This was perfect. Screened in porch for those nice mornings and evenings kept the kids contained, all of the amenities for kids (play pen, toys, booster seat) and beach chairs/umbrella made for less things to pack, fenced yard, so we didn't have to worry if he wanted to play outside. The washer/dryer are wonderful to have and I actually had most of my laundry done before we left so I didn't have a huge pile when I got home! Our friends have a place up on the west end, so we weren't too far from them and could meet up for playdates and mojitos on the porch! We went to the park to play on the playground, the aquarium at Ft. Fisher via ferry, the beach (obviously), the point for shelling and wading, and to many wonderful places to eat (Shagger Jack's is awesome!). We went down to Calabash for dinner one night (about 45 min) and our husbands went and played golf at OICC. We plan on returning in August so we can do it all over again! My friend and I are going to make to Dads watch the boys so we can go up to Southport for a little shopping. Also the craft festival is the weekend before Labor Day. We are in love with Oak Island and this cottage!

  We enjoyed our vacation, renting this house. It was just the right size for our family. The walk to the beach was 15 mins but it was an exploring walk thru trails and bridges. And the intracostal water was a short walk to look at the crabs. The outside shower was AWESOME. The renter was helpful and gave lots of dining recommendations. And allowed us to enter the house early since the previous renters left early. The house was clean and organize. We were allowed to use anything in the house and replaced anything that we used up.
