Thank you to the wonderful cottage owners. Photos are amazingly representative of the property. It reminded us of cozy Pottery Barn, with real antiques, not replications. We were able to entertain family and friends for dinner parties, and enjoy the backyard BBQ as well. It is a great location with beautiful walking destinations, including the beach and village. My favorite was unbelievable regular sightings of a Doe with her three Fawn deer, on neighborhood walks with my doggy. Lunching, dining, shopping, and evening walking for gelatto are fond memories.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you.

All-around perfection! The owners were easy to work with, accommodating, friendly and professional. The property was VERY CLEAN and as described/pictured. The owners did a great job rehabbing this place. The location can't be beat. It is in the midst of a great neighborhood. You can walk easily to many shops, restaurants and the Metra. The pictures in the listing are spot on. The first thing I thought when we walked in was "I could live here." I personally LOVED the French cottage décor. My husband thought it was nice, but somewhat “girly.” That said, he was very pleased with the large flat screen TV, comfortable furnishings & pet-friendliness of the property. This is a perfect place for a girls’ weekend or a couple/family, but probably not my first recommendation for a guys’ weekend. All 3 bedrooms were nicely decorated and spacious. The home is well stocked (e.g., dishes, sheets, blankets, towels, pillows, toiletries, hair dryer, iron/ironing board etc) and there is plenty of space for a couple/family/group of friends to hang out in the kitchen/dining area and living room. The only thing that could be considered a downside, and this really depends on who you are traveling with, is the bathroom. While it is nicely decorated, it is very small & located between the master bedroom (downstairs) & a HUGE walk in closet. There isn’t much room for storing toiletries. The bathroom wasn't an issue for us, but if you were traveling with people outside of your immediate family it might be, depending on how comfortable you are sharing a bathroom. Two additional perks—(1) Wi-Fi access & (2) the little fenced yard in the back of the house. The latter was wonderful for our dogs. It was still a little icy in spots when we were there, but I imagine the back yard would be great place for people to hang out during the late spring, summer & fall. Overall, an A+ all-around! We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we were coming to the area & it was available. We would also recommend the property to others—we just don't want it to become so popular we don’t have the opportunity to come back. :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Four adults comfortably stayed here & went to Ravinia; which was very convenient. The cottage was very clean and comfortable; tastefully decorated. Spacious for 4 people; kitchen & dining room both great for dining in. Went to the Botanical gardens the next day; gorgeous. Owner was very accomodating & the photos were accurate.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We love this place! What a great place hidden away, yet right there close to the town. It is hard to justify staying in a hotel when this VRBO feels like a home away from home. WE would definitely stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2
