Listing was exactly as shown in the pictures. The sunset views were spectacular as was watching the turtles coming right up to the sea wall. The sound of the waves day and night was music to our ears and was very conducive to relaxation. Although this was not a high end condo it was clean and very comfortable. A place where you would really feel at home. The whole condo complex is obviously not new but very well maintained. Location, location, location. You can walk to anything in Lahaina from this condo but you are not in the middle of the busyness if you want to get away. Nick and Sylvie were very good to answer our questions and made the rental process very easy. We found Lahaina a perfect base for us in Maui. We would recommend this property for couples wanting to get away but it might be crowded with four people there. The Old Lahaina Luau which you can see from the deck is very much worth going to. it is well done Hawaian dinner theatre. Book early as it sells out. Captain Steve's snorkle tour was fabulous. Boss Frogs' knowledgable/helpfull staff handled our booking. We highly recommend Penne Pasta Cafe and Kimos bar and restaurant in Lahaina. Very good food at fairly reasonable prices.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed 6 days in Maui, we loved this quiet location. The condo was neat, clean and nicely decorated, just as the pictures showed. The grounds and pool were well kept and had beautiful flowers in the garden, although you might not notice since the sunsets seen from the condo are the real show stoppers. This property is in a quiet neighborhood in old town Lahaina, away from the touristy areas, just what we were looking for. Owner was very helpful and accessable, We would not hesitate staying here again or recommending this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Cindy, We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, and that the information was helpful. We want everyone who shares our little slice of paradise to find it as magical as we do. Come back anytime!

We came to Maui to celebrate my 30th birthday! We were not looking for a resort experience, yet someplace close to town. Lahaina Roads is the perfect location! It is a minutes walk to the Cannery Mall and many restaurants. The walk to downtown Lahaina is 20 minutes, and it is east to find a cab home at night. It is also a close drive up north to Kanapali. We loved baby beach for relaxing and snorkeling. The condo itself is fabulous! Just the drive in alone is beautiful. It has all the amenities you need for your stay (nice quiet bedroom, large bathroom and shower, fully equipped kitchen, etc...). The view from the Lanai is amazing. We watched the sunset and sailboats every night. It is a very quiet complex. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the ocean. The pool is also a bonus! Nick really helped out with any questions we had and mentioned some great places to visit during our stay. We really loved this unit and will definitely return for our next trip!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are delighted you enjoyed your birthday in our little piece of Paradise. Many happy returns!

This was our first time staying in Lahiana. We have stayed in the Ka'anapali area in the past. We stayed for 10 days and liked this location for several reasons. First we liked that it was a smaller building and therefore less people. Because there is no "beach" in front of the building you did not have the crowds of people walking by, more intimate than most places. With only 45 units it give you a chance to get to know more people. We enjoyed seeing the same guests and making new friends. Jim, the onsite manager, does an amazing job of keeping the ground beautiful. He also make sure that the guests follow the rules, makes for a pleasant stay. It was an easy walk to local restaurants and the store which was nice. Having coffee in the morning looking out at the ocean only a few feet away was great. I was disappointed in the fact that swimming in front of the building is not practical because of the shallow reef. However, I got over that fact and just drove to another beach to swim. With Front street so close it can be a little noisy in the bedroom but we got over that also. Bottom line we would consider staying here again on our next trip to Maui.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are really happy you enjoyed your stay, and you highlighted many of the reasons we love it there. Ours is one of the few units with custom built windows that keep the noise from Front Street while you sleep. That is the only real drawback with Lahaina Roads.

This is a wonderful location and a great condo for a stay in Maui. I traveled to Maui by myself to learn to Scuba and, although it was far from the dive shop that I was working with in Kihei, I am very glad I chose to stay there. It is within short walking distance of fantastic restaurants and a small mall with a grocery store. It is within slightly longer walking distance to Lahaina town center which is bursting with lots of fun shops and restaurants. The condo itself is overlooking the pool and the ocean steps beyond. I slept and awoke to the sound of waves and lovely ocean breezes. The pool was right on the ocean and was never crowded. Although the condo and the building are not new, they are very comfortable, clean and well maintained to suite your needs. The owners are extremely kind, accomodating and informative. I will definitely stay there again on a future trip to Maui.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are glad you chose to stay at our place too! You will always be welcome back... I bet you enjoyed the beautiful drive along the coast and the amazing dive sites around Maui. Maybe next time we can convince you to try surfing?

My husband and I were honeymooning and truly had a wonderful stay. The condo was very nice and very roomy. The bathroom was spacious and even had dual shower heads though the hose on one of the shower heads was busted so we didn't get to use it. The pool area was very nice and clean. If you are wanting to stay somewhere with a beach area this is not the place for you. You are right on the water but it's not good for swimming. Very shallow and lots of rocks. We did see lots of sea turtles one day which was very cool. While in Maui you must do the Road to Hana. It is not scary like lots of people say. The roads have been repaved and widened but if you go passed Hana (we did not) the roads are said to be BAD with only one way for both coming and going traffic....BUT it is suppose to be unbelievably beautiful. The part we traveled was very beautiful. Oh, and you must eat at Bubba Gump Shrimp. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Its a great spot for Honeymooners and just for reconnecting. The shower has of course been fixed, and there is a very protected beach just around the corner. Glad you loved our piece of Paradise as much as we do.

WOW, what a PERFECT place for a honeymoon! A BIG thank you to Nick and Sylvie for letting us use their “home away from home” and for making the “booking” so easy! In addition, we really appreciated all the “tips” of what to do and the VERY detailed instructions when we were there. It made our entire stay “easy” and stress free! We absolutely loved the unit! We definitely took advantage of the lanai overlooking the water and beautiful view every day! The lanai had the BEST view of that amazing sunset (which we watched it go down every night)! We also loved counting the turtles (and losing count) and we even saw a seal just down near the steps! We had a great chance to do all the typical “tourist things” such as the Road to Hana, snorkeling at Molikini, Black Rock, a luau, surf lessons, dinner cruise etc. The best spot for snorkeling was seriously right out from the condo, Jim (resident manager) lent us a couple boogie boards (and we borrowed your fins- thank you), and put on our snorkels and away we went! We saw the best coral, lots of fish and a few turtles (in a very short period of time). Jim (resident manager) was fantastic! He kept the grounds immaculate! He was very friendly and made us feel very “welcome”… he has some great knowledge of where to eat, what the best boats are for the dinner cruises etc…. not that he should be the “travel expert”, but we wished we would have used his knowledge a bit earlier. He truly is a wonderful man. We LOVED the 2 person shower and the vanity for both of us to use at the same time! (we only have one small bathroom in our condo and we are already missing the large shower head and vanity lol) All the appliances and other furniture looked and worked GREAT! Oh---- the bed was also REALLY REALLY comfortable--- I have a bad back, and the bed was perfect--- it was “firm yet soft”, which made all my nights sleeping an absolute dream! Overall, our experience as honeymooners in Maui at Lahaina Roads was FANTASTIC! We have already decided we MUST return again on our 5 year anniversary! Thanks again Nick and Sylvie! Not only was your unit amazing, but all of our dealings with you were prompt, professional, clear and pleasant!!! Thank you Kim & Blair The HoneymoonersRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We were delighted to have our first honeymooners, and really happy they enjoyed their special time at our place in Paradise.

I recently spent 2 1/2 weeks at this condo. I had never been to Hawaii before, so I was was eagerly awaiting the experience. It was spectacular! From the dozens of turtles that I could watch from the balcony swimming and playing in the surf, to the beautiful sunsets with the tiki torches lit. Warm breezes and soothing wave action contributed to a VERY relaxing and pleasant holiday. The condo itself was everything as stated and much, much more. It was very, very clean and quiet, and many days I was the only person at the pool. I viewed Maui by car and by boat, and both were very interesting and fun. There are super restaurants within yards. My favorite although was Canoes, where again you can set and watch the turtles play. (Can you tell I now have a "thing" for turtles?) All in all, I would definitely recommend this condo for your vacation stay. I am hoping to return for a another visit in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are always thrilled when our guests enjoy the unit as much as we do!

My wife and I stayed at this property in March 2010 and had a fantastic time. We are 30 years old, no kids and live in Toronto. We enjoyed the central location to Lahaina and the rest of west Maui's many attractions. Logistics with the owners were a breeze and everything was as advertised. It was fantastic sitting on the balcony each morning with a cup of coffee, listening to the waves and watching the humpback whales go by in the distance. The unit itself is clean with all the required ammenities and the oceanfront view is great. The complex is a quieter one with few children when we stayed there and "quiet hours" generally starting after 9 or 10pm. That was just what we were personally looking for but may not be right for others. The grocery store and some local restaurants are a few minutes away and we often enjoyed picking up some local take out and enjoying dinner overlooking the ocean and the pool area - beat the view at most restaurants in town! I won't try to convince you on Maui itself - there are plenty of other websites for that. Again, a fantastic stay, easy logistics, property just as advertised and plenty of R&R - exactly what you hope for when you get a vacation rental such as this. Thanks!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: This was our first rental - we are delighted it met your expectations. We hope you will come back again!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We grew up in Europe, and moved to North America 15 years ago. We love living in Canada, but find the winters a bit long and a bit cold...
Why the Owner Chose Lahaina Roads:
When we discovered Hawaii, it seemed like paradise. We stayed on Maui, but when we discovered Lahaina Roads, we just loved the view, the peaceful yet convenient location, the layout of the units. We dreamed of owning a place here, and suddenly we were able to make that dream come true. We are delighted to share our slice of paradise some of the time, so the unit remains fresh.
We had custom built windows installed in the bedroom to keep the noise from Front Street down. Ours is one of very few that have this, so our unit is nice and quiet.
We apologize if our payment options are not entirely convenient for you. We can work with you to find an acceptable arrangement.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
We get up early and walk along Kanapali beach to Black Rock, go swimming or snorkeling, then come back for breakfast on the lanai. Lunch at Aloha Mixed Plate is always a treat, unless we have to go to Kahului. Then we will have lunch at the Cafe o' Lei at the Dunes golf course. Happy hour with pupus at Duke's or Leilani's.
We also love the Wailea boardwalk, and the beaches on the south end of the island. A whale watching trip and a snorkeling trip to Molokini or Lanai are usually in our plans. And a few rounds of golf on one of the courses - everything is within about 20 miles drive, and the road to Ma'alaea is a delight. Once in a lifetime visitors may also consider the road to Hana, with the seven sacred pools, and Lindburgh's burial site. See the sunrise over the crater of Haleakala. Visit the Tedeschi winery above Oprah's estates. Snorkel off the private island of Lanai and the sunken crater of Molokini. Check out the ziplines in Kapalua and on the slopes of Haleakala volcano. We like the 'Maui Revealed' guidebook.
