Looking for that unique mountain getaway? This is it! 'Lily Pad' was completed in December 2003. The property starts with approximately two acres of wetland (the beginning of the Toe River and two other small streams merge here). Lily Pad is PERFECT for celebrating your special occasion or just getting away!

You will be close to the popular attractions - Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linville Falls, Linville Caverns, Blowing Rock, and the Sugar, Beech and Hawksnest Resorts. Lily Pad is creekside and you also have a great view of the pond (shared with neighbor!). You can meander through the wetlands area and enjoy the beautiful laurels and native plants.

If you are up for more exploring, you have 13 acres of natural North Carolina Mountain - just head up the hill from the bridge. Much of the property has been undisturbed for years - there are signs of loggers that probably originally put in the mountain road to take out some of the massive trees on the land. A hand-drawn map is available for your exploration.

Oh, and yes, there is the cabin! Lily Pad welcomes you immediately with the wooden rockers on the front porch. Step into Lily Pad's entry way and get the great feel of the high cathedral ceilings, wood walls/floors, and custom decor! The floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace catches your eye right away! There is something about the sound of the creek, crisp mountain air and a crackling fire in the hearth that just sets the mood perfectly! Cozy up to the fire, listen to music or watch a movie while enjoying each other's company!

Lily Pad has a fully-equipped kitchen, beautiful wood cabinets made by local artists. The bathroom has a tiled shower, acrylic vanity, luxury towels, and a heat lamp if needed! The large bedroom offers a delightful king-size bed with the sound of the creek on one side and French doors leading out to your private covered porch. The gas grill is available for cooking up that great dinner! Dine by candlelight in the open al fresco - and the hot tub is just below the covered area with its own deck under the stars!

If you feel you must get away, the town of Newland is the most convenient (three miles) for picking up groceries, gasoline, and movie rentals. There are several restaurants here for that quick bite - your choice of barbecue, pizza, mountain home-cooking café, and, of course, McDonald's, Hardee's, and Subway! Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway are very close - always a popular draw! Banner Elk is about a 20 minute drive, offering unique shops and some superb restaurants. Golf, horsebacking are also available nearby.

Whether you are exploring the creek, rocking your cares away on the front porch, sipping coffee in the morning on your open deck - Lily Pad was designed to provide you everything you need for that great time - enjoying each other, and the great North Carolina Mountain Beauty - Any Season!
