My family was raised in the Berkshires, but life has taken us all in different directions. This house was a perfect solution to bringing my 4 sisters and my cousin together for the holidays. The house is spatious enough to spread people out in the various bedrooms, and even provided fun sleeping quarters for my two nephews (they loved the small tucked away beds off the upstairs bedrooms; you'll see). The living area is wide and open, which provided a great solution to having family in and out visiting throughout the holidays. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment to cook big family meals if you want to stay in during the winter weather. We were able to put up a small christmas tree, and were lucky enough to have snow a couple of days. The private drive near the lake makes family walks easy and my nephews and I took advantage of a couple of nearby hills for sledding. The location is convenient to town and all the normal Berkshire attractions, but still gives a nice quiet setting for relaxing and taking in the Berkshire beauty. The owner was fantastic about arranging for all the details before and after arriving, and was nice enough to provide an additional table for the holiday dinner (which was really a lifesaver). The drive is a little steep on the way in and out in the winter snow, but the owner plowed, sanded, and gave driving tips to our less experienced snow drivers:) I would recommend this property again and again; in fact my family is already considering when we should look into renting it again.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Hi there, Happy New Year!! A wonderful time was had by all and we can't thank you enough for making our trip so enjoyable!! Also, since there was so much snow, we purchased two sleds and left them in the back closet in hopes the next family staying could enjoy the fun like we did. Thanks again and all the best! We rented the house in early October. When we arrived, we were greeted by a beautiful view: the house overlooks a large lake and was surrounded by gorgeous fall foliage. The house is larger and nicer than it looks in the pictures - we were a group of 11, and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep. The house is in a nice neighborhood, and feels somewhat secluded but is a really just a quick drive away from town. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and the lake-front sun room was a warm, cozy, perfect place to hang out during the day. It was so great to have a full kitchen - we cooked a feast and ate at the dining room table that was large enough to accommodate us all. We played football in the backyard and went out on the lake - kayaks and canoes are so fun in the fall. We also went to a near-by orchard for apple-picking with a general store that sells amazing fudge. At night we roasted marshmallows over the outdoor fire pit, and watched movies from the amazing movie collection at the house. We'll definitely be looking to see if this house is available for us to rent again next year - we could not have asked for a better place to stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My extended family and I stayed in this gorgeous lake home for a week this summer. We've been doing this family vacation every year for 9 years, and this is by far the best place we've stayed at. It is spacious, well laid out, extremely clean, comfortable & you just can't beat the location! All photos are accurate, this house is just as beautiful as they show. The owner is very helpful with any questions you may have. I can't really recommend any nearby activities or attractions because we never left the house except to go food shopping (which is 5 minutes away, but when you are at the house, you feel like you are "away from it all"-- you have no idea how close to "civilization" you are!) All in all a wonderful place to stay - I highly recommend it to anyone!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Family reunion for Thanksgiving. This house is much larger than it appears. Master Bdrm has a youth bed in the closet, what fun! Den has pull out bed + rollaway in addition to the beds mentioned in the listing. Very clean, loaded, you really don't need to bring anything but food. The owner was very easy to deal with. Our family of 13 will definitely be back in the summer. The lake is beautiful.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This home has a stunning location overlooking Onota Lake. While this home is very close to Pittsfield with restaurants, grocery shopping, etc., you really feel like you are out in the wilderness. The views are great -- especially since the far shore on the other side of the lake is undeveloped. The home is lovely, with a well-equipped kitchen and a cozy sun room where you can sit and enjoy the views over the lake. We were there the first week in October. Unfortunately it was a rainy week, but having this home made all the difference! We'd recommend it for couples, or for a large family.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My family was here for a week, age range 1-68, and everyone had a great time. The house is very accurately described and pictured on this website--plenty of space, very nice yard, great little beach area, shopping accessible close by. The owner was very helpful with questions, the home was clean and well maintained, with fully equipped kitchen, 3 large TV areas, and comfortable seating areas outside as well. We climbed Mt. Greylock, went to Shakespeare Theatre, kayaked, ate, played games, etc. This is the fifth year I have rented a house for a family vacation, and this rental was by far the best and most accurately described. We hope to return next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The home was one of the very best rentals I have ever stayed at. The home is perfect for a winter getaway! It is very close to Jiminy Peak (about 15 minutes), it has a cozy fireplace, and the owners have spared no expense in furnishing the home. We all loved sitting in the warm sunroom gazing out at the winter storm or cuddling on the huge couch and watching one of the many available DVDs. The house also has great internet connection so working remotely is not an issue (if you have to). The large yard is perfect for making snowmen or having a snowball fight. The frozen lake (frozen at least two feet deep) is really fun to hike on and meet local ice fishermen who don't mind explaining how they ice fish. I really can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

This house is perfect. It manages to be roomy, but cozy at the same time. Every bed and piece of furniture is so comfortable, clean and pretty. We went for 3 nights with 3 families for a ski holiday. It is close and convenient to everything -Jiminy Peak, restaurants, grocery stores, etc..., but in a beautiful, private setting. We had so much fun hanging out after a long day and enjoying dinner at home with a fire. The house is so well set up with movies, games and lots of TV's for groups with varying ages. The house is lovely and I would love to return someday and experience it again winter or summer! I can't recommend this house enough.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We recently stayed at this house for a weekend with 5 adults and 6 children and there was plenty of room. The house is beautifully decorated, but even better than that it felt like home. It was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was a pleasure to cook in with everything you would need. The layout of the home made it easy to allow everyone to do as they pleased, whether it was a quiet spot to read, watch TV or just have a conversation. There is a gorgeous large yard for the kids to play and of course there is swimming and kayaking in the lake. The owner was very helpful with answering our questions and there is a binder with local information as well as general info about the home. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a perfect location to relax and spend time with family.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
