Elegant Home Near Hookipa and Mama's Fish House

  A group of friends and I stayed here for a week this June, and this house is AMAZING! There were 6 people in our group, and we rented the whole house (upstairs and down) - very comfortable fit, and could easily have slept a couple more. The description and photos were very accurate, but I have the say the photos do not do this house justice. It is truly a beautiful home, well kept, and the views from the rooftop deck are spectacular. If you like to cook and want to save some money on eating out on your vacation, the upstairs kitchen was a gem! We ate several dinners at the large dining table upstairs and on the upstairs patio. The property manager was super helpful and easy to deal with - he actually gave us several suggestions on where to go and what to do while in Maui. Overall, a great experience, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is planning a trip to Maui anytime soon. The beach within walking distance to the house is a bit rocky, but a great place to walk around and catch the sunset. There are some nice sandy beaches just down the road in Paia town - you must stop and have lunch or dinner at Flatbread...delicious! Also, try the coconut brown ale there. There's also I nice little restaurant about 15 minutes from the house in Haiku called Colleens at the Cannery - stopped for lunch after our bike ride down the Haleakala Crater. Lunch was delicious, and their dinner menu looked pretty tasty too. This house is close enough to all that Maui has to offer, but off the beaten path enough to not be smothered by tourists (if you are looking for larger crowds, head over to Lahaina area). This will definitely be my first choice in lodging for my next trip to Maui. Mahalo and Aloha!

  This apartment is really lovely. We were 2 couples who came to Maui specifically to eat at Mama's Fish House so the location was perfect. The entire apartment (upstairs) is beautifully done in wood and glass with great views in every direction. Michael was only an E-mail away and answered several questions for us while we were there - very helpful. We look forward to a return stay.

  We stayed in the upstairs portion of this house and LOVED it! There are all the conveniences of home with a well appointed kitchen and lots of room throughout. We enjoyed the balcony and the upstairs deck, in fact we had a "visitor" quite often when sitting up there (a blue and yellow macaw!) . Mama's beach is only steps away with tide pools and a sheltered area that was nice for our 3 1/2 year old daughter. Mama's Fish House is also steps away and you are very close to the ecclectic town of Paia with many little shops and restaraunts. We found this home to be an ideal location to visit everything on the island and highly recommend staying here.

• Just Beautiful!

  We rented the whole house, as we had a very large party traveling together. It is a beautiful well maintained home. The house was large enough for everyone to have their own space and the open plan kitchen/living room upstairs was large enough for all of us to come together for supper and talk about our adventures at the end of the day. I would recommend families with young children to rent the downstairs, so you don't have to worry about any stairs. The beach was perfect for our young daughter, not too many people and the water was usually pretty calm. We enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the roof sundeck, watching the 10-15 foot waves crashing in at Hoopika beach (just down the road). The location was perfect for us to get around the entire island, easy access to Paia, Makawao, Haleakala and Kahului, and shortened the time to get to Hana. Thank you for letting us stay at your home, we enjoyed our time immensely!

  I've been going to Maui for years and this is my absolute favorite place to stay. It's a beautiful home in a great location. It's close to town and has a wonderful secluded beach a few feet away. The rooftop deck is a favorite for cocktails.
