Words can't really capture this fabulous home and location! If we could give this property 6 stars, we would!! Our family (2 adults, 2 children) spent an incredible week enjoying this wonderful home and location and there is no doubt we will be back soon. It is remote (yet close), private, inviting and so very wonderful in every way. The home location and design is amazing and the upkeep is impeccable. Then the views...BEYOND AMAZING! We live in Colorado and are very familiar with the mountain ranges. We have been looking for a rental property in this area of the state for many years. This has to be one of the best views and locations available! We were able to stay here and still ski and have dinner in Ridgway or Telluride in a short drive. Our children spent many days snowshoeing out the front door - what memories they will have from this vacation! We are so very thankful to Mike for the opportunity to rent his little piece of heaven on earth!

My husband and I just spent 4 days at this beautiful home. Day one, rain, sleet and snow, and it was beautiful. The rest of the time was nothing but sunshine and beautiful days. We have stayed in Telluride, Mountain Village, Ouray and Durango. This was our first stay in Ridgeway. I think this is where we will stay from now on. There is so much history in this area of Colorado and beautiful scenery around every corner. The house was exactly as described. The views CANNOT be beat. The house was clean and in perfect condition. It is located conveniently to all the jeep trails, hiking trails, ATV/UTV Trails, and shopping too, but far enough you can avoid the tourist crowds. You are far enough from town you do not hear anything but wildlife, (our favorite were the elk bugling in the evenings and at night,) but close enough to drive to town for supper if you don't feel like cooking. We enjoy the solitude and peace of the mountains and we found it at this home. We will definitely stay here again if possible. Thank you Mike for sharing your beautiful home.

We arrived in pitch black darkness, found the house, and walked into the perfect cabin home. The home was spotless clean. That night, we fell asleep to elk bugling right outside out window. We woke up to turkeys gobbling. The first thing we saw was Mt. Sneffles from our bedroom window. The cabin is positioned perfect to take in the range. Everything worked. New appliances. Open and spacious. Clean bedding, clean bathrooms. Animals spotted on the property included bears, countless mule deer, elk, coyotes, chipmunks and squirrels, cows, and we herd turkeys. For my wife and I, Colorado is our retirement location. This is our ideal property and location. Pure American heaven in the western outdoors. Incredible area, rich in history and wildlife. Such a place has your ears ringing with its silence and your eyes are overwhelmed with scenery. Thank you.

We just spent a week in this beautiful mountain home with an incredible setting. And everything was as good or better than advertised. It's clean, practically new, well designed, nicely equipped and offers MAJESTIC MOUNTAIN VIEWS from nearly every window. It's a wonderful getaway for one or two couples. We have stayed in and around the San Juan Mountains on several trips and this is by far the best property we have found. We'll be back!

My husband and I stayed at Mike's house for a week of our three week vacation. We took in a lot of Colorado and a lot of hiking but we have decided to go back to Mike's the entire trip from now on. It's the most ideal locale for all kinds of day trips, including Telluride, Ouray, Black canyon of the Gunnison and so much more. But even if you want to watch wonderful views and nature and the best sunsets, you can just curl up with a book and be content to stay put.

My boyfriend, his two sons (17 & 13), and I stayed in Mike's beautiful home for two nights in early July 2013. WOW!!! The home was perfectly situated to enjoy the amazing breathtaking views. A 14er Mount Sneffels is the headliner. As you enter the home, the foyer has a bench for you to sit while putting on or removing your shoes. From the foyer, the high ceiling living room is on the right and the kitchen on your left. At one end of the kitchen, there is a hallway that leads to the bedroom on the right and a bathroom on the left. The other end of the kitchen leads to the laundry room and garage. From the living room, there are stairs that lead to the huge master bedroom with an equally huge bathroom. The furnishings throughout the home are modern and very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much. The views from the property are absolutely fantastic!!! The Sneffels range is gorgeous, and it was wonderful to view it in a clean, well decorated home. I loved the seclusion and the lack of city noise (I live in Chicago near Midway Airport). If you are looking for a comfortable home with majestic views of the San Juan Mountains, I hope this vacation rental is available for your dates.

We wanted a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the holidays in Los Angeles and we found it at Mike's house in Ridgway! The seclusion on the beautiful property was wonderful and the immaculate house made staying in a dream. We sat by the Quadrafire, drank wine, and gazed through the huge south-facing windows at the snow falling. My two year old called the deer and rabbits her "best friends" and loved that she got to see them daily. I can't say enough about how nice the house is - it was like staying in a well-kept hotel (without the bother or other guests and much cheaper!) If you're planning on staying in Ridgway, definitely consider this house. I am sure you will love it as much as we did.

We spent a week in this home and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants privacy, beautiful views of the mountains, and wildlife meandering through the property at all hours. My husband and I stayed here with our 22 year old daughter and her fiance and none of us were ready to leave when the week was over. We had been concerned that the seclusion would be a little "boring" for our daughter and her fiance, but that wasn't the case at all. They loved seeing the elk, deer, coyotes, chipmunks and bunnies come and go throughout the day. We would leave during the day to see nearby Ouray and Telluride, but return in the evenings for dinner and watching the wildlife at dusk. The house is new, modern and very clean. And Mike, the owner, was always easily available by phone or email, and was very nice and helpful. The kitchen is well equiped for just about any kind of cooking you might want to do and the view from the living room of the mountains and wildlife just can't be beat. The house has 2 very comfortable bedrooms ... the master upstairs and the extra bedroom downstairs. We loved sleeping with the windows opened all night and were awakened a couple of nights to the sound of a dozen or more coyotes having a "howling contest" not far from the house. Loved that! There are 2 full bathrooms, 1 on each floor. It was nice to have a full-size washer and dryer there to wash after a long day of hiking. Everything worked well ... no problems. We enjoyed dinner at True Grit in Ridgway our first evening there, but most days we spent in Ouray or Telluride. We took a wonderful jeep tour up into the mountains above Ouray (Imagene Pass) and really enjoyed that. Well worth the time and money! We did some great hiking in Ouray and Telluride. The Perimeter Trail in Ouray is great, and Blue Lake between Ridgway and Telluride was wonderful. We saw a black bear after that hike leaving the trailhead ... what a thrill! We attempted to hike "Top of the Pines" which is right across County Rd. 5 from the house, but couldn't find the trail head, so I wouldn't waste your time on that one. Telluride is charming ... eat dinner at Allred's Restaurant at the top of the gondola for wonderful views! It's pricey, so if that's a problem, just have a drink/appetizer in the bar for the same views and less expense. If you want to be near all the charming mountain towns, but want to getaway at night to the seclusion of this lovely house, this is the place for you!

My family and I stayed for 5 nights at this home in July 2012. I picked Ridgway because it was a nice centralized location for hiking near Ridgway as well as Telluride, Ouray and Silverton. The home couldn't have been more perfect for us. It feels brand new and has an amazing living room with breathtaking views of the mountains as well as a very nice entertainment system for the evenings to watch movies (and the Olympic opening ceremonies!). After hiking all day I slept like a baby in the comfortable bedroom while leaving the windows open for a nice cold breeze (it's great to be able to cozy up under a big blanket in July!). The kitchen is large, new, and clean, providing everything you would need to make a nice dinner or just morning breakfast and coffee. Staying here gave the experience of living in a luxury mountain home at an affordable price and was a highlight of our 5-day San Juan hiking trip.

Okay, I'll just get to the point. This rental is fantastic. A clean, modern, stylish house set in the most stunning setting you could ask for. Peace, tranquility, incredible views, wildlife. If you didn't leave the property all holiday you would still have a time to remember. However if you do you'll discover the stunning delights of south west Colorado. This was the third week of a month long Colorado adventure for my wife and I. We live in London, UK so peace, scenery, nature and a slower pace of life was what we came to CO for. We certainly found it here. The historic town of Ridgway is just a short drive from the property - the True Grit cafe and the Railroad Museum are just a couple of highlights. A real easy going dusty western town. Great scenic drives further afield take you to equally historic towns such as Ouray, Silverton and Telluride passing jaw dropping scenery along the way. Bring an extra memory card for your camera! Mike, the owner was a pleasure to deal with too. A great getaway from it all rental. Oh yes, the stars looked amazing as well. Did I say incredible views? Ah.........
