A PLACE IN THE SUN - UNIT #3: This is the place you walk into and instantly feel like you're walking into a friend's home. Warm and cozy and definitely where you belong. This condo on the beach has two bedrooms, one bath, and 900 square feet! Lots of room to find several cozy spots to relax in.
Do you love to cook? The kitchen is complete, and you won’t find fresher seafood or better cuts of meat anywhere than in the shops on the island. (And if you don’t like or want to cook, there are plenty of great restaurants to pick from.)
After the sun goes down, take some time and catch up on your favorite TV show or DVD. And remember good old-fashioned board games? We’ve left some of those for you too.

A Place In the Sun, on beautiful and serene St. George Island, sits directly across the slow road from the beach. You can sit on the balcony and watch the waves break. Its semi-private pool and charcoal grill assure a pleasant time even away from the beach. Your pets will love it too. Please note, there is parking for a maximum of two vehicles.

And you’ll be tempted to share it only with your dearest friends.

Our policy is simple: under-promise and over-deliver so as to give you the absolute best value in vacation rentals today. We want you to feel the value you're getting for your vacation dollar will make you want to come back year after year and be among our numerous repeat customers. YOUR INVESTMENT
Rates include everything except Florida state sales tax, a $49 damage waiver (gives you $1500 worth of accidental damage coverage during your stay), and a small house cleaning fee of $125. We employ a professional linen service for a charge of $25/bedroom + $10/bathroom which includes all your linens, bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels and even little soaps at all of the sinks. There is also a small amount of clothes detergent, dish liquid and dish washer soap. There is a $50 cancellation fee up to 30 days prior to arrival.
To protect your investment, we also offer trip insurance from an AAAAA rated insurance company. We highly recommend you give it your consideration because, if you would have to cancel your trip for any reason, you'd receive a full refund for your rental.

Just stayed here this past week... and it was a very nice get away. The unit is the upper left - very well decorated, comfortable, and in good repair. The stairs are on the outside of the building, and a few of them feel a bit unsteady, but not in serious disrepair. The view from the front of the building is awesome - just like the photos show, only much better in person. I had a fair bit of work to take care of while on vacatoin, and I set up my office from the kitchen table to enjoy the view. Made working much better! I chose SGI (St. George Island... gotta talk like a local!) for one reason only - the beach and the area are very dog friendly. Met lots of nice doggie folks down there - and no one ever objected to my two ~40 lbs aussies. The dogs loved the beach, tons of smells, tennis balls to chase, and crabs to pounce on. The beach was great, white sand and clean. The dolphins right off the coast were amazing to see, something that I can check off my bucket list! Shelling here left a lot to be desired, as did overall temperature, it was HOT in August... no real surprise there though. The rental agents were very responsive to me, which was very appreciative. The area is best known for a few things... 1) Fishing & boating activities - numerous opportunities for charter fishing & tours, kayaking, etc. 2) Relaxing. You're an hour+ from major cities out here, so you are really no where near the hustle and bustle of some of FL... good and bad, depending on what you are looking for. Plan to bring your food in if you want to save some money - although wait until you get here to buy your fresh seafood! I found the Apalachicola Estuary "museum" to be great - free admission and I caught a presentation about sea turtles which was awesome! Local shops are good, and many aren't just the typical "touristy" things. Get a massage while you're here... the therapists will come right to you - it's well worth it! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

I purchased my first beach house in the early 2000's and immediately listed it with one of the larger property management firms in town. While I was thrilled that the house rented as well as it did, I was not happy with the draconian commission structure, poor cleaning standards, and slipshod maintenance. I began to advertise and manage my property on my own and I doubled rental revenue in the first 24 months of owning the property. Neighbors took note. I received phone calls. I received emails.
