  Our family of 6 (2 adults and 4 kids) spent a week at this home in Whittier. We were also joined by two more people during three of those days. * The house is quite spacious and was fine for 8 people. The living room and dining room were great for the adults - visiting and playing cards - while the kids played video games and hung out in the large den. * The kitchen in this house is really nice. Beautiful cabinets and marble countertops. It looks like it was recently remodeled. * The pool and patio area are also nice. Lots of seating - and the pergola is beautiful. There are a lot of plants, shrubs and trees surrounding the perimeter of the whole patio area (which is great for privacy) so there can be a fair amount of debris (e.g., leaves and buds) in the pool. No big deal. I spent about 30 minutes with the pool skimmer pole and it cleaned up great. * The beds in each of the three bedrooms are all comfortable and each room is nicely furnished. * The owners were VERY nice and helpful. Always available to answer questions and even called a couple of times to check in on us to see if we needed anything. * Good location. We were in the area to tour colleges and, of course, visit Disneyland. It seems like everything is within 20-30 minutes of this house. There are grocery stores within 5 minutes of the house. * Overall, a cute house that is very nice for a large family/group. The only thing keeping us from giving it 5 stars is the fact that there are just two bathrooms (and one of them is in the master bedroom). With eight people, the morning routines were a little rough. But as we were all "family", it wasn't as big of a deal for us as it might be for another party. * We will be back. Good location, comfortable digs, a nice pool, nice neighborhood and friendly, accommodating owners make this one a keeper on our list!

  Stayed at this property in August 2011 for 1 week, got there late evening, alarm went off in the house as agent forgot to tell us about code. The cleaning at not been done, twin bedroom was messy, beds not done, also awaful beds. We did not use den area because the sofa was dirty. Garden area was horrible they have a grape vine over the seating area which is always dirty, the outdoor furniture has not been cleaned, the pool is not heated or covered, so did noy use this either. Main bedroom is Ok, truthfully I would not stay there again, location is good for disney, but the house needs a lot of work done on it to make it comfortable. The main sitting room was nice but there is no TV in it so we used our own laptop to watch films in the evening. The kitchen area is nice but all the cutlery was dirty and they have just enough things for six people. It says it can sleep 12 but only have 3 bedrooms and 1 main bathroom, the small shower room in the main bedroom is tiny and dark. I have stayed at many holiday rentals and sorry this was one of the worst.

  Owner response: We alarm the property between visits and typically do not provide the code for stays unless the Guest requests it. It was our fault for not disarming the alarm prior to their stay. We have changed procedures to avoid this potential situation. We were in the midst of a transition to a new cleaning service and did send a representative over within hours of being told of deficiencies. The house had been cleaned, but they obviously missed a few items. The twin beds had to have the comforters replaced, but due to the transition, we were not told. The cleaning service made the beds as best they could with the remaining linens. They did clean the back patio, but as noted, the grapes are in season and do cause a mess quickly this time of year. We also steam cleaned the referenced couch as of finding out of this issue. The pool is not heated, as advertised, but a pool service attends it twice a week and provide any needed service. A heated pool would entail much higher utility bills and a higher rental rate as a result. The house is approx 50 years old, but the only thing not fully renovated is the small shower and touchup in the Den. Due to space limitations, there is no space for a television in the referenced sitting room, but there is a 50 inch TV in the Den and TVs in each bedroom for a total of 4 TVs. Bed space is as follows: 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 twins, 1 double pull out, 1 double futon, and 2 roll away beds. Space for 12 people at capacity, but we were not aware of the shortage in cutlery until now. We have added sufficient silverware as a result. As soon as this Guest told us of these shortcomings/oversights, we immediately refunded over $250 from their stay besides quickly addressing their concerns.
