I spent most of July 2009 in this apartment, and it was exactly as advertised: Very comfortable, very clean, and well-located. This is technically a basement apartment, but it actually gets a lot of light through the windows and doors. The owners live upstairs and were extremely nice and helpful. The kitchen is quite functional, and comes with pots, pans, dishes and silverware (and a dishwasher). The bathroom is surprisingly large, and very nicely done. For one person, there was plenty of space, and I imagine it would be fine for a couple as well. The house is a short walk to very nice shops and restaurants on Solano, with an upscale market nearby. It is about a 35 minute walk to the university campus, which is very pleasant as long as you are okay with the hills of Berkeley. If you prefer, there is bus service nearby. I very strongly recommend this apartment -- it is very comfortable, the owners are great, it is in a fun neighborhood, and it is easy to get to and from campus (one way or another).Recommended for: Tourists without a car.
